The only thing that would have made me enjoy this book more would be if it came with a plane ticket. I can't wait to get back to the UK to see Bath from this perspective.

We have done a few of these walks. I love Bristol and have visited several times to see the Banksy art scattered around the city. Find it a great city to walk around in, this book appealed to me, so i got my copy and started stepping along the routes.

Loved the clear guidance and will definitely be trying more of these on future visits to these lovely cities.

A fascinating collection of walks in the Bristol and Bath areas, combining well-known sights with hidden gems. Definitely a book to take along if you are planning a trip to the area.

Twenty walks in Bristol and Bath discovering local historical monuments hiding in plain sight.

The walks are set out in similar fashion, starting with details on distance, timing and terrain. They are introduced with a description to whet the appetite. The main section comprises easy to follow step by step directions, aligned with a route map.

The Hidden Walks series would suit out-of-towners and born-and-bred locals equally. I fall into the latter category for the Bristol & Bath title, and I was amazed by how much I didn't know about my own city.

Highly recommended.

How lovely to discover a city through walks that others might not find. The maps and instructions are beautifully clear. It's a book to keep with you in the car perhaps so that if you've a little spare time you can go exploring.

As someone who loves urban walking, I am happy to see that the A-Z has published some city walking guides. This one covers the most well-known city walks in Bristol and Bath, but it also contains some lesser-known walks and even encourages you to get out into the surrounding countryside. The instructions are clear and the author often suggests diversions if you want to see more of the city or make the walk longer. The book also contains handy maps and photos. I think this book will be particularly useful for visitors who would rather walk alone than go on one of the guided walks available in both Bristol and Bath.

Like the other books in the Hidden Walks series by the A to Z group, this book includes maps and informative descriptions of walks in urban areas, perfect for discovering new and old places.

Many traditional walking areas like the Peak District, the Lakes, Pembrokeshire, all have many many hiking guide books, but there are precious few urban ones. This is a shame - and I’m happy to see up to date, informative walks from a trustworthy brand now on the shelf. Buy it for your next city break, and take a break from the crowds and see something new.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This handy pocket sized walking guide offers 20 hidden walks in and around my local cities of Bristol and Bath.

What do you like to see when you go for a walk? With these books you can choose from historical buildings, green spaces, canals, rivers and more. I'm looking forward to exploring these walks during my regular visits to Bristol and Bath this year.

At the beginning of each chapter there’s a brief description of the walk and it’s location. I liked the information panel at the start of each chapter, which provides the walk distance, a suggested starting point and an estimate of how long the walk might take. This all helps decide which walk to follow depending on how much time you have available and how much exercise you’d like to do.

Once you’ve decided which walk to follow there is a route map and detailed point-to-point directions. As you follow the walk the book also provides notes on what you might see during the walk, what to look out for and useful photographs of interesting places. The author has also shared options for you to divert from your walk temporarily for added sights of interest or for a pitstop for refreshments.

This book is part of a new travel book series, each book shares interesting walks around some of the UK’s most beautiful cities. I hope there are more cities added to this compelling travel book series soon.

As keen walkers based in Wiltshire we have lots of books and maps taking us through the beautiful countryside that surrounds these two cities, loving the fact a book has been brought out that covers the cities themselves
