22 seconds... until Lindsay Boxer loses her badge—or her life.

SFPD Sergeant Lindsay Boxer has guns on her mind.

There’s buzz of a last-ditch shipment of drugs and weapons crossing the Mexican border ahead of new restrictive gun laws. Before Lindsay can act, her top informant tips her to a case that hits disturbingly close to home.

Former cops. Professional hits. All with the same warning scrawled on their bodies:

You talk, you die.

Now it’s Lindsay’s turn to choose.

Another case to the Woman's Murder Club, very tricky case and very violent. Characters as always are excellent, story never stands still.

Number 22 in the series of the Womens murder club. I haven't read any of the others, so had to get to know the characters in this book. Typical Patterson, short chapters, chopping and changing characters so you start wondering what the book is all about and then it all starts to come together and everything suddenly makes sense.
Lots of shooting and violence, but more human moments too. Not really a detective story where you get to think about clues. All in all a good read
Thank you to Net Galley for the ARc in exchange for an honest review

This was a good story. I felt that it focused a lot on a storyline I wasn't overly fond of, but it was still very quick and easy to read.

We got 90% Lindsay in this story
6% Cindy
3% Claire
1% Yuki

It did feel a bit off having so little of the other characters.
I want justice for Claire who never gets a primary storyline.

I had a good time

James Patterson is a master storyteller and his stories are always gripping and highly entertaining.
This is the best one in the Women's Murder Club series: it's a page turner that kept on the edge and turning pages as fast as I could.
It was a compelling and riveting read, highly recommended.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

This was my first Woman's Murder Club book, but it won't be my last for sure. I am now invested in going back to number 1 and starting from there. Thanks for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Another great case for the Womens murder club!
high octane and high tension throughout as the women try to solve a murder and stop an illegal arms shipment.
Patterson keeps his cases fresh and his characters grow with every installment making 22 seconds another pleasure to read.

This is the first Woman's Murder Club that I have read. I found it difficult to get into and it didn't gel with me. Maybe if I had read the rest of the series I would have enjoyed it more. I'm sure a lot of people willenjoy this book, though.

As a long time James Patterson fan, I was really looking forward to the new Linday Boxer book, but I must admit that I didn't grab my attention as much as the others in the series. Saying that, I did still enjoy it.
I found that the ending was a bit abrupt, and I also sometimes got confused as to whos point of view the book was written from.
It won't stop me looking forward to more from Mr Patterson though, as he is an excellent author, and most of his books are to be found on my book shelves!

A bit of a disappointment. I have read the previous novels in this series and this one just did not measure up to the same degree.. The ending felt rushed and could have been finessed. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

Oh how I love this series of books. Women’s Murder Club never disappoints. This book is all about gun smuggling and drugs. As always you never know where the story will take you and who will be the most in the mix. Never predictable and a page turner. It is hard to put a book like this down once started. Lindsay is the main character in this story but the others are still there, thank goodness, if only in the background with their own side interests and stories. The laws about guns are changing much to the disgust of some and as they are being brought in via Mexico together with drugs. Lindsay and her husband are prepared to work the case with their two different agencies and, of course, there is the odd murder thrown into the mix. As the story continues the drama continues. As Lindsay and Joe progress with their enquiries they lives become threatened and that has to be dealt with. The story carries on at a fast pace and all ends well. Roll on the next story in the series

As always, James Patterson delivers a great read.
The latest instalment in the Womens Murder Club series and this one will not disappoint.
Lindsey Boxer is on the case again and there are murders that all appear to be connected.
Great read and another page turner.

Nice to catch up with Women’s Murder Club. Always an entertaining and fast paced read, descriptions of New York and the characters are second to none. However I did find that the book ran out of steam at the end and I was left wondering why it ended so abruptly .

This 22nd episode of the Women's Murder Club Series is another winner. Even though have only read two of the other books in the series so far (book twenty, 20th Victim and book twenty one, 21st Birthday) I still found this a great read though obviously, I'm missing a lot of backstories. The four members of the WMC are Lindsay Boxer (Homicide Detective) Claire Washburn (Chief Medical Examiner) Yuki Castellano (Lawyer) & Cindy Thomas (Journalist). In this instalment, they investigate an apparent suicide when a police officer is found dead from an overdose and Lindsay's storyline is the focus. Additionally, there are rumours of a large illegal weapons shipment for distribution across America which Lindsay's FBI agent husband, Joe Molinari, is working on. James Patterson's (written with Maxine Paetro ) latest novel follows a very intriguing, multi-layered story, and I was gripped by the perfect plotting and pacing. The tension rises as each gets into dangerous situations.

If you are a fan of James Patterson this will not disappoint. Suspenseful, addictive and unpredictable and very highly recommended for those who enjoy police procedural and law enforcement dramas. I certainly have been inspired to read more from this impressive series.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel, at my request, from Random House UK via NetGalley and this review is my own unbiased opinion.

James Patterson is undeniably phenomenally successful. With this collaboration I get the feeling that the other person is writing the book and Mr Patterson is just occasionally looking over their shoulder.. I do enjoy the Private series of books-far fetched I grant you but very enjoyable reads. This book much less so. I really didn't like the writing style. It was incredibly American such that I had to constantly google terms and that's very off putting. The book was also very slow going which is very unusual for this author. Set against a back drop of gun culture which is a very pertinent topic currently. Some of the changes to the law (I presume real changes in actual law) made me think that it was just a token gesture to try and please everyone.
I'm sure this book will sell millions of copies and probably be made into a film but not for me, certainly with this co-author

I've read a few of the previous instalments (but by no means all of them as they are churned out at a rate of knots).
I was a little disappointed with the ending as it was rather abrupt and I wasn't really sure that it really was the end (I had to double-check!).
However, the story itself involved the usual welcome suspects but with only a brief showing of Yuki this time.
The backdrop is making semi-automatic weapons illegal and the subsequent outcry around this from gun-lobbying groups and a resulting bulk import across the border from Mexico.
You've got the FBI and police for good measure and it's definitely another page-tuner even if it didn't quite get me hooked.
4 stars from me. Thanks for the preview copy.

The 22nd book in the Women’s Murder Club series !! If you’ve read the previous books then you will already know what to expect and you won’t be disappointed. If you haven’t read any in this series then this could be read as a stand-alone but you would miss out on so much so definitely read the whole series !!

Sergeant Lindsay Boxer is back along with the other members of the Women’s Murder Club, Cindy, Claire and Yuki - although I did feel the others didn’t get as big a part in this latest instalment but hopefully they will be back centre stage in the next book. Lindsay’s husband also has a bigger role to play in this book.

As you would expect there is action galore, with shootouts, double crossings, murder, arms smuggling, plenty of tension and so much more.

If you love the series then you need to read this latest instalment and if not, then do yourself a favour and read all 22 books !!

Thank you to Random House UK and NetGalley for a digital copy of this book.
