I wanted to love this book, but after listening for 15 minutes, I couldn't get on with the narrator. The narrative sounded a bit stilted, which put me off. Such a shame as it sounds like a good book!

I really enjoyed this audiobook, I thought the narrator had an excellent voice too!
Although I guessed where the story was going to go, I did enjoy the twists and depth to the characters as the book went on. I was a little disappointed by the ending, when it ended I expected the next chapter to begin and not necessarily in a good way!

Thank you to Netgalley, W.F. Howes Ltd and Jo Platt for an audio-ARC in return for an honest review.

This book is an absolute page-turner. I adored it. The characters are loveable. It's a complex story which really draws you in. The only thing I didn't like was that the ending felt a little abrupt.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for approving me for this arc

I really enjoyed this, I loved Edie soo much! This was a very complex one and I found I didn’t want it to put it down because I wanted the story to keep going

The only thing I didn’t quite enjoy was how abutting they ending was

I loved this book. It is sweet and funny in places. Cameron and Edie may be the main protagonists but it is as much an ensemble piece as anything else. Edie's cousin Giles was adorable and I enjoyed the romantic build-up between him and Kerry more than I did with Edie and Cameron.
Edie and Cameron spend a lot of time disliking the other over a misunderstanding and it seemed to take ages for it to get resolved and for them to develop a friendship.
I liked the humour in the book and the banter between all the supporting characters- Giles's neighbours were particularly eccentric and fun.
This book may be less romance driven than other Rom-coms but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
An entertaining read. I would happily pick up another book by the author.

I loved the narration of this book more than I actually liked the story I think. The story was good but not stand out brilliant.

Narrator 5 stars

Story 3 stars
This book is very mellow and just keeps chugging along. The characters were likeable. The situations were funny and awkward. I did feel though it just kind of ended very quickly.

A Sweet, Lighthearted Listen

🧡 This is a classic chick lit rom-com in the vein of Sophie Kinsella and Rowan Coleman. The aspect I enjoyed most was the friendship element.

A tender uplit novel of one woman’s accidental rediscovery of the perfect work-life balance. The narrator narrated the book beautifully, and I loved the depictions of the different characters. Great audiobook. The author wrote a story that was interesting and moved at a pace that kept me engaged. The characters were easy to invest in.

Working it Out by Jo Platt

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and W.F. Howes Ltd and I am leaving this review voluntarily

When her love life crashed down around her, Edie turned to work for solace. But office life goes downhill with the departure of her work wife, Ruby, and the arrival of new guy Cameron - a chauvinist, a womaniser and the very opposite of a team player. But is Cameron the bad guy he seems to be?

When a best-forgotten ex decides to get back in touch, Edie's work life, love life and home life are on a collision course. Exactly what she will be able to salvage from the twisted wreckage, is anybody's guess.

I listened to this as an audiobook and went into the story completely unaware of what it was about. It is a lovely story about personal growth and learning from past mistakes. I can't quite put my finger on what it was about this book that kept me intrigued. Overall, it is an enjoyable and entertaining read.
