Thank you to the Author, Publisher, and NetGalley for the eARC.

Honestly, the book felt a little underwhelming.

I understand what the premise was, and requested this because I felt it had so much potential and promise, but i think personally, the book did not deliver on these promises the way I wanted it to.

The book is a romance, but i can't really say it lived up to the GrumpyxSunshine trope, largely because despite being told time and time again that Hayes is grumpy, i don't really see it in his character. He seems to be kind and generous to everyone, and well liked in general. The crux of this romance felt like a scrappy, but resourceful brunette, fell for the supposedly grumpy, yet very well liked male lead.

I really wish this had delivered a bit more on the romance, and made it felt a bit more organic. the third act conflict confused me, because I really didn't understand why it was necessary, or even happening. A lot of the plot was explained heavily. A bit too heavy handedly, in my opinion. The characters and plot in itself felt a bit contradictory, which confused me even more when I was reading the book. Things don't seem to be as cohesive and smooth as I would have liked them to be.

Overall, it isn't a bad book, and has elements lots of readers will want to explore - But I feel there are other books that have done it better, and more cohesively.
It depends on each individual reader though, there are definitely aspects many readers might enjoy.

Personally, I felt the execution and characters were a bit underwhelming for my reading experience, but I look forward to seeing how the authors' next story pans out.

I loved this story so much. A meetcute on the subway when Franny is at her lowest and Hayes is delightfully awkward and yet still a gentleman. It’s lovely to see their friendship slowly develop as they bump into each other and realise how compatible they are despite their assumptions that they are too dissimilar for it to ever work.
I loved all the characters, even Serena (so realistic!) and Franny’s girlfriends are so supportive and a real dream team of friendship. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Quick & easy read.

Cute & fun story but maybe a little bit too cheesy with all the cliches. Overall I enjoyed it though!

From the moment I read the premise of this book, I knew had to read it and I’m so happy I finally got a chance to.

After a disastrous meet-cute in the NYC subway, Franny and Hayes go viral, with everyone in New York shipping the #SubwayQTs. But a quick meeting makes it clear they couldn’t be more different from one another; while Franny is talkative, creative and outgoing, Hayes is a lot more shy, introverted and loves numbers and data. They go their separate ways, doubting they’ll ever meet again in a city that has 8 million people, yet somehow they keep running into each other and surprisingly find themselves enjoying each other’s company.

I loved Hayes and Franny! They were lovely characters whose personalities fit really well together even though they weren’t all that similar. Franny was incredibly funny and hardworking and I loved seeing her find her place and her voice and Hayes had such a big heart- I absolutely loved him and how genuinely nice he was; he was aware of his flaws and trying to do better, which was lovely to see. Their chemistry was clear from the very start and the flirting was so so good. Even though this was a (very) slow burn, there were countless fluffy moments that gave me all the feels and the same goes for funny scenes. Their dynamic as friends and, later, as a couple, was overall amazing and even though it took them a while to actually get together, seeing their relationship grow was heartwarming.

The side characters were also pretty amazing! I loved that both Franny and Hayes had such strong friendships. Their friends felt more like family and I loved all the scenes they were in. It was a great addition to the story and I’m only sad we didn’t get to know more about them- I would read their stories if I could.

I had a bit of an issue with the pacing though. The first few chapters, likely because of how much was happening, were addictive- I couldn’t put the book down, I just needed to know what was going to happen! But then at one point it slowed down and I had a bit of a hard time getting through some of those middle chapters. Thankfully it picked up later on and the pace in the last third or so of the book was really great and I had no problem getting through it.

I also wish we’d got some more background information on Hayes.. I loved him but I feel like there is a lot about him I don’t know (for example, about his family and past in general). I thought at one point we’d for sure find out more about his family but we never did and I’d be lying if I said that wasn’t a bit disappointing.

Overall this is a charming romantic comedy that is perfect for fans of the classic romcoms of the 90s and early 2000s.

This was a really cute read. I really enjoyed reading about Hayes and Franny.

This was a simple read so it didn’t really hold my attention as much as I would have liked but I did still like the chemistry between the two characters

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this arc in exchange of an honest review

Franny has had the worst day ever, and then she goes and rips her dress on the subway - but a handsome stranger comes to her aid.

After their meet cute on the subway went viral, Hayes and Franny’s lives become intertwined.

This was a sweet rom-com but it was a bit too hallmark movie vibes for me, if that’s your kind of thing you’ll probably love it but it wasn’t my favourite but not a bad read!

In A New York Minute is the loveliest read. It engages you from the 1st page and leaves you smiling once you've finished it. A very cute, satisfying and easy read.

It's been a while since I've read a 'clean' romance book and I usually find they don't keep my attention so much, but I really enjoyed this one! I had to read it given it's set in my favourite city and I'd seen some great reviews. It's a cute story and would make a good vacation read, especially if you're on a city break!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Yet another book that I read in a day. It's a really easy, somewhat predictable read. Part of the reason I read rom-coms is the expectation of a happy ending so the predictability is not necessarily a negative in my eyes but there was nothing overly special about this story.
I enjoyed the meet-cute, it's not one that I've seen done before. Hayes and Franny's friendships were great although certain aspects of Franny's friends lives were obviously introduced to move the story along and didn't really fit in well. The slow burn was great but I'd have liked a bit more burn as it felt a little flat at times.
I liked the story and would recommend it to rom com lovers who aren't bothered by knowing exactly what's going to happen. It's a quick escapist (great New York references) book but it was not especially memorable.

Thanks to Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for the ARC.

A real cute read. Haynes and Franny are both darlings, they both have their - entirely relatable - inept moments, their highs and lows and their real lives we live in with them. They have a fabulous circle of friends who keep them both grounded, and who guide our couple over the bumps. We have an engrangement, a house warming, a hospital stay and through it all Franny and Hayes are real kind people you just want to get together.

Raced through this - an easy read. The formula doesn't offer any real surprises but I enjoyed it no less for that. Thoroughly enjoyed.

This has to be one of the shoddiest and cliche books i have read in the last year. Too many cliques and terrible grammatical errors. On top of which, a very unlikable lead character who's misfortune overshadows the description of the city of the title.

An enjoyable chick lit read, you were invested in the characters and their journey and it will definitely make you want to visit New York (which is a good thing in my book)

The cutest little book!

Giving me Sex and the City vibes, set in new York and the sweetest meet cute there isn't much to not like.
All the characters are well written and adored.
Can't wait to read more!

This was a really sweet story. It starts out great with a fantastic 'meet cute' which draws you in and sets the scene and the rest of the story. Franny is relateble and is all of us on our worst days when she initially meets Hayes. What follows is a story filled with laughs, some drama and all in the fantastic setting of New York. Not only did this story drawn me in and keep me there, it made me want to pack my bags and go to New York. This book makes a fantastic Read
