I'm not one to read much non-fiction. I love book club kits as they help me absorb, as well as understand how to start thinking about the content presented in the book. This kit was also my first book club-hosting choice and I did not go wrong there!

Such a good resource! It includes an interview with the author as well as tips on how to run a succesful book club, very useful!

This is a really good book club kit ! The author interview is super interesting, and I love the priority list and the reading recommendations. I especially liked the "starting a successful book club" kit at the end!

This was such a helpful little guide! I adored the layout; it was simple, clean and made with colours that matched the book's cover.
There were the usual bits included in this one, the author's letter and discussion guide, along with a what to read next and a handful of bookmarks. What made this one particularly useful to me personally was the added section at the end, the 'starting a successful book club'. It was full of brilliant tips and the blueprint was lovely.
Overall I recommend this one, especially to people wanting to start a fledgling book club like myself.

A nice and valuable kit to have. I have not read the book by Tonya Dalton, but from reading the interview, I will pick it up. I liked how there were books recommended to read after reading The Joy of Missing Out by Tonya Dalton. If I were to start a book club in my community I would definitely use the outline set up in this kit as it is well put together.

This is a lovely and helpful discussion guide centered on The Joy of Missing Out, by Tonya Dalton. The kit is as lovely as the book and offers a wealth of information and guidance for any book club host.
The author interview at the beginning of the guide is a great way to begin discussion of the book and of Ms. Dalton's experience with embracing the Joy of Missing Out. The questions and her answers bring up not only some of the major issues in the book, but also the deeply personal nature of writing and how the process was different from podcasting, and ultimately more revealing and powerful.
Since there are activities within the book that Dalton asks readers to complete to identify what is most important to them--their North Star--this is also an obvious entry point for discussion. Sharing guiding thoughts and understanding others' perspectives and priorities is bound to lead to meaningful conversation.
Finally, there is useful and fun information at the back of the guide for starting and running a book group in general. There are cute bookmarks one can print ahead of time to give to group members, as well as ideas for food formats, and even a link to a workbook to download and use with the book.
Altogether an excellent resource bound to facilitate meaningful discussion and maximum fun!

I love these Book Club Kits and especially the ones that include an interview with the author. I am impressed with how well thought out these book club kits are. They always include really great extras, like the videos and the bookmarks. I think they're a great resource for a book club to use. The included discussion questions are perfect for encouraging deeper exploration of the book's characters and themes, and I loved how Netgalley began including this in request. Will definitely use in the near future with my very own book club.

This was a really well-rounded kit packed with resources for both established and newer book clubs.
I have a book club, but I found some of the more general ideas interesting, and if someone was just getting started with a book club or needed to make the structure a bit better, the kit has some good ideas for creating and defining that culture. I probably didn’t need the bookmarks, but some people might find that a fun touch,
The book recommendations offered a wide variety of different topics, from memoirs to organizing, so there was something for everyone, no matter what the area(s) of interest.
The author Q&A was pretty standard, but it’s a must-have resource for any book club kit. It would be interesting to maybe have links to video interviews to watch with your book club to get a little bit of that “visiting author” feel.
For clubs featuring “The Joy of Missing Out,” this is a really helpful toolkit and would definitely be a value-add for groups looking to have a themed discussion.

I think this book kit was great. I would have moved the what to read next to the end because it seems to cause a shift from what follows.

Fantastic kit for use in book club meetings. We struggle with discussing the book (we usually say a few worked about it and then start chatting about anything in general) and this will help us to stay on track.

I thought this was a great book club kit! It included discussion questions and I thought the prompt and questions about a priority list was a great idea to include. I also like that it included what books to read next. I thought it was helpful to include the starting a successful bookclub to do/ check list!
I also like that the author created a workbook that the reader can access for free.
Thank you to NetGalley, We Are Bookish publisher and the author!

This was a very well written and well laid out kit. It is easy to understand and adds value to the book experience. The visual layout is very calming as is the energy of the book

The author interviews in these book club kits are always very interesting to read. This time a to do list template was also included, which was fabulous to work with.

They knocked it out of the park with this one. The bonus content like the priority list, guide to starting a successful book club, and workbook were great additions that I will definitely use.

A useful book club kit with creative resources. I would use this for my book club if we were reading this book. Thank you.
