Perfect size for babies. But wish there was more people in this book. What a wonderful collection of so many inspiring women! A very short introduction to several inspirational women. With bright illustrations and easy to understand words, it would be a great book to read to little ones.
Thank you Netgalley and Rebel Girls for an advanced copy of this book in exchange of my honest opinion.
I love that Rebel Girls came up with the fantastic idea of publishing the first Baby Book of their series!
It contains just the right amount the information to know what these amazing, great and brave women did and how their acts changed the world we live in!
The illustrations are bright, fun and stunning! And I am very happy to see current heroines like Simon Biles and Malala as well as all time known warriors like Rosa Parks and Harriet Tubman.
This new book will, definitely, be a total success!
This is a collection of extraordinary women in history in a simple format for babies and toddlers. It is powerful to see the collection of women portrayed to demonstrate that no matter what difference you choose to make you can be extraordinary as well.
This was so wonderfully cute! It's a perfect way to introduce little ones to inspirational women. I loved how varied the women were and how they weren't just focused on women from a certain country/field. Also, the art in this is gorgeous, I would 100% buy art prints to decorate my walls with them.
Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: Baby’s First Book of Extraordinary Women by Rebel girls is a wonderful installment into the Rebel girls series. It’s for an even younger audience than Climate Warriors and Mean Business, but no less inspirational.
The art was, as usual, both varied, unique, and colorful. This book delves into the histories of multiple amazing women throughout history, who did amazing things and deserve so much more credit than they get.
This is a wonderful book filled with glorious women and their adventures, it covers Cleopatra, Rosa Parks, Jane Goodall, Marie Curie, Harriet Tubman, Joan Jett, Amelia Earhart, Jane Austen, Ruth Bader Ginsberg and many more influential women that have helped shape and change our worlds history. These women are some of the most notable women for standing up (literally) and doing what they wanted when they were told they couldn’t do something. This is an inspirational book for any young girl to read and know that she can choose her path in life, and even if there are others saying she’ll never make it she will, and she’ll be an inspiration to so many other women.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an e-book in exchange for my honest review.
I had seen Rebel Girls books around pretty often, but this is actually the first one I've read. I am honestly so glad we were approved to receive this ARC because it is such a great book to read to a baby. This book details the many accomplishments of truly extraordinary women from both the past and present. It provides a wonderful foundation for babies to know and believe they can accomplish beautiful and amazing things because of the women who came before them.
Goodnight story is a collection of many great women who established themselves proved well enough to the world that anybody can achieve anything through dedication and hard work persistently.
Great introductory book of women throughout history who have made an impact in a variety of fields. The diversity offers readers an opportunity to see the greatness women of many different cultures. There is just enough to spark interest for young readers to want to research more.
The rhyming on some pages gave it more of a flow for the younger audience this book is focused on; however, this is not offered on every page for every woman featured.
A very short introduction to several inspirational women. With bright illustrations and easy to understand words, it would be a great book to read to little ones. For slightly older readers, I hope it will prompt them to have discussions or find out more about some of their favourite women mentioned here.
One of the best book I have ever read! It's inspiring, self motivated and really amazing. I would have loved to read this book when I was a child and I loved it now that I'm an adult. I can't wait to gift this book to my nephew because it's really important to read this kind of books at young age. WE NEED MORE BOOKS LIKE THIS!!
Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for providing me an ARC in exchange of honest opinion.
I absolutely adore this one! Since the book is meant for very young readers, the descriptions are short, usually 2-3 sentences and written in simple language. Naturally, it doesn't answer a lot of questions, so if you have curious kids, be prepared. Or you might search the answers together. Sounds like fun time. The illustrations are eye catching as usual with colorful, cute portraits. It includes a diverse group of courageous women from Amelia Earhart to Cleopatra to Malala Yousafzai and covers a lot of sectors like gymnastics, music, literature etc. I squeed with delight when I saw Jane Austen and Marie Curie, two of my most favorite humans, who have contributed so much in this mortal world. A highly resourceful book to introduce kids to their future female idols. Definitely recommended.
So cute! I love these books, it's a fantastic introduction to the series. I've read the books to my daughter since she was four, but this is beautiful for babies. A wonderful addition to an already fantastic series.
A rebel girls book for the littlest girls (and boys)
This board book introduces kids to inspiring women from all over the world. I loved the women that were selected. The detailed illustrations and short texts introduce each of them, and will surely make kids curious about the world. A very inspirational board book for girls and boys.

This Baby's First Book edition of Rebel Girls gives parents the chance to introduce their child to the amazing work done by woman. We start with Amelia Earheart the first woman to fly across the ocean and end with Simone Biles. Each story showing just what women are capable of.
I found that the bright colours and bold writing were just what a first baby's Rebel Girls book should look like. I think that a school going child could manage to read it themselves.
However I did find parts annoying, for instance the book does not always explaining what the women are. I know that may be difficult for some children to understand but they could ask an adult what those words mean. For instance would the adult reading the book necessarily know that Simone Biles is a gymnast? As someone who doesn't fallow the Olympics and is not American I didn't. The last thing you want to do when reading to a child is take your phone out and google something.
Though I loved the art. I wondered if it would not have been better to make it interactive. Have things move, like Earheart's plane or the car on another page or the spaceship. Whether with pull-y tabs or as pop ups.
This book gives a great snapshot of wonderful women from all walks of life doing great things. The illustrations are great as well as the short but detailed description of what each woman succeeded in doing. I believe this book would be great for a read aloud. This book itself, provides a great quick snapshot, but it also allows for children to do further research and reading about women who interest them from this book.
What a wonderful book full of diverse examples of women throughout history, breaking barriers! This would be a great book for a young girl OR boy. The illustrations were beautiful and each person was presented with a witty, brief description.
Such an inspirational book about the marvelous women both past and present!
Good night stories for rebel girls: baby’s first of extraordinary women was an easy read, incredible book about women in science, artists, and much more! The artwork was so beautiful, and I loved every page. It can be an enjoyable read to both children and adults.
