Juniper & Zephyr's book is fantastic. I really enjoyed their unique chemistry. It is definitely not like most couples, which was fun to read. I thought this book was full of action, romance, great characters, with a little bit of humor weaved through out. The grandmother is a great character, I am so glad she found her way into the book.

These books are so fun to read from start to finish. You're guaranteed a HEA and they've somehow tricked me into enjoying a dystopian setting.

Zephyr was previous introduced as a bit of the odd man out, having come back from a hell realm and having to re-learn society, his brothers, their mates, etc. On the edge of the group, he ends up on a mission that introduces him to Juniper. Juniper has a bit of baggage, having had her memory erased before being dropped in to be raised with wolf shifter. A dragon with unusual talents, she had a loving family, but this was always hanging over her head.

These two are a great couple to watch. The fact that they are taking down a human trafficking ring also makes them the very clear good guys here. Throw in some curve balls in the form of Juniper's past, Zephyr's patience, and a bunch of familiar faces pushing their own stories along and we've got a wonderful book. I highly recommend this and all associated series'.

A big thank you to NetGalley and KR Press, LLC for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series. There are a lot of names, so it could be overwhelming as a stand alone. This is Juniper and Zephyr's story. Zephyr is a dragon and an alpha male, Juniper is a strong willed lady. I enjoyed the book, they are always fun and interesting. 3.5 stars I think that if you enjoy paranormal romance that you will enjoy this book.

ANCIENT RETRIBUTION brings fans back after The Fall and into New Orleans pack world of King.

This is an amazing read that has supernaturals fighting side-by-side to save humans who are being trafficked to vampires and demons.

I have read many of Katie Rues Romantic Suspense series and while many are the same story just a little added difference that readers find and enjoy. All of her stories are HEA which readers seem to enjoy. I have read just a few of Katie Reus supernatural romantic suspense series. While I still have a hard time imagine what the different characters and at times their appearances the author gives readers what she is famous for strong female leads and the "Alpha male" that can't live without The One!

Each story in this series brings to life the important of family no matter happens in the past and future.

The story moves quickly, and this story is a stand-alone but I would recommended readers reading at least 1-4 in the series to get a better understand of the world the author has created. Yes lot and lots of steamy sexy time.

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of Ancient Retribution By Katie Reus.

I went into this book without reading the rest of the series, but there’s enough world and character building within this story that not reading the other books first was alright.

This story was a fun romance between two dragon shifters. Zephyr is all growly male learning the modern world while Juniper is a surly female boss that rarely lets anyone in. In Ancient Retribution, Katie Reus does an excellent job of matching the couple together and balancing out their flaws with chemistry.

Juniper is a dragon shifter who has given up trying to find her birth clan. She was adopted by a wolf pack as a child and though she doesn’t know her dragon roots, she has loving parents and good friends around her. She has black ops skills that keep her busy in the magical world, and her latest mission has her in close proximity to an ancient dragon who is just getting used to the modern world.

Zephyr has reunited with his brothers in New Orleans, but feels out of place after their differing experiences. He finds himself attracted to Juniper and will do whatever he needs to help her while she is in New Orleans. As he inserts himself into her mission, he also works to convince her that forever with him is a good bet.

These characters were a great compliment to each other. Juniper is strong, independent, and fierce. She is used to making her own decisions and keeping herself from connecting too deeply with anyone new. When she discovers a tie to her long lost family, she has some decisions to make about her future and just how much to let her new family (and Zephyr) into her life. Zephyr’s struggles to feel like he belongs seem to lessen when he is near Juniper, but she isn’t interested in taking a mate, so convincing her to do otherwise is a challenge he is up for. I love that he recognized her strength and just wanted to help her be the best she could without taking away her power.

I love this world and the way all the magical creatures are interconnected. The world building is strong and offers so many different avenues for this series to continue to entertain. There are several side romances building and there is always room for improvement in the city as rebuilding continues. Katie Reus has once again given readers a storyline that fits into her Ancients Rising world, keeps the series arc moving forward, continually expands the character pool, and thoroughly entertains and delights.

I usually don't like picking books that are the middle of a series, however this one was excellent. Just enough background given to understand the backstory - but new and fresh to keep me interested now. Not only that but enjoyable enough to want to go back and read the previous stories.

Juniper is a dragon shifter abandoned as a young girl in Russia and found by wolf shifters who took her in as their own. Years later she’s working special operations mainly against paranormal offenders after the apocalyptic dragon uprising that outed supernatural beings to humanity and changed the world order. Zephyr is another dragon shifter who, after years trapped in hell, has been reunited with his brothers in New Orleans. While he’s happy to be back with his family something is holding him back from feeling that he completely belongs. When he meets Juniper while on a mission he realises she is who he needs

The fifth book in the Ancients Rising series and I have to say I’m loving the introduction of new worlds, in this case the Nova realm where dragons dwell in a matriarchal society and I hoping we’ll be hearing more about this other world in future books . There are lots of familiar characters and some new ones that I’m sure will appear in future books. It’s a bit of slow burn romance as the hero and heroine don’t immediately jump into bed but that’s not due to any lack of chemistry between them. There is a lot of sexual tension building up and scorching looks going on. The plot itself is fantastic, fast paced and full of action as Juniper, Zephyr and their team hunt down the vampire traffickers leading to a dramatic finale. My one niggle with this book would be the conclusion to the subplot involving the mystery of who Juniper really is. It just seemed a bit rushed and anticlimactic for me.

Katie Reus brings another outstanding book and the greatest series. It’s never a disappointment! We meet Juniper, a long lost princess dragon, who’s family and crew may not be blood but is everything to her. Then we get Zephyr who we have met previously, spent part of his life in the Hell Rhelm become a fierce protector and wants Juniper as his. We live this book in New Orleans and get to interact with previous characters. I love how Katie intertwines her characters through he books and we get more pieces of them. Juniper has a trauma when she was hound that causes her not to remember. When out trying to find who is trafficking she learns of a different life she has and the journey to get it with Zephyrs help along the way. It’s action packed and steamy. Juniper learns to fight through her emotions and what her and Zephyr can have. One of the best books in the series! As always Katie is a one click buy for me and even though this is a ARC is still help support our authors by purchasing as well!

This was an entertaining well-written book. It was hot, funny, action packed and I didn't want to put it down. I enjoyed this book and am now looking for more books by this author!

This is most of all about family. They may drive you crazy, bring you to distraction, or hug you like no tomorrow, but the emotions behind it all is what drives your intentions. Juniper's past starts with a loss so great that even thinking about it causes nosebleeds. Zephyr's past is not far enough back for him to forget the terror he experienced. But when these two come together to fight against human trafficking they realize that the past is just that: the past. What happens in the future will take courage and stamina.

Man I do love these dragons! Each story has its own tale. Enough suspense and action to keep you reading, ohhh and not forgetting the romance. Juniper is the leader of a black ops group protecting supernatural beings. She’s a dragon! When she meets Zephyr sparks fly, smoke to! Read their story!
It will keep you wanting more!

Ancient Retribution is book 5 in the Ancients Rising series and my favorite so far. Now while I have enjoyed this series, I thought this book was fantastic from beginning to end. Zephry and Juniper were perfect for each other and while Juniper struggled a little with her feelings, Zephry knew pretty quickly that she was his mate. I loved all the new characters introduced as well as old favorites. Overall, this addition was full of action, love and friendship. I can't wait for more.

I’ve been a long-time fan of Katie Reus’s romantic suspense books. When 2020 hit us like a ton of bricks, I found myself unable to lose myself in my usual genres. So when someone suggested I try a genre I wouldn’t usually read, I thought it was a great idea and decided to plunge into Katie Reus’s paranormal romances. Before I knew it, I found myself completely submerged in all things Ancients Rising. You can read Ancient Retribution as a stand-alone title, but you are missing some terrific adventures if you skip the previous books.

After completely losing myself in this post-apocalyptic world within the pages of the previous books, I’ve been anxiously waiting for each new story, and Juniper and Zephyr’s story did not disappoint! With wonderful characters, fast-paced action, steamy scenes, suspense, and a few twists and turns, this book kept me entertained and completely sucked into this magical world from the very first chapter. If you’re a paranormal romance fan, this one should be on your TBR. And if you’re not, give it a try. You might just surprise yourself!

What a delight to find out that book four in the Ancients Rising Series was not the last one. So glad that the series continues with Ancient Retribution (Ancients Rising #5) by Katie Reus. A clearer picture of the entire US is given after The Fall with Juniper’s and Zephyr’s story. Much of the focus on the series has been on the rebuilding of New Orleans. I like how it branched out some in this book along with other realms coming into play too.

The setting of the series is part of the overarching theme but it does not control the storylines as some other paranormal series that I have read do. By that I mean that the author does not draw out conflicts or have villains who continue to dominate the plots for many books or only have the overarching theme. Problems arise, battles are fought and solutions are found. In the next book a new problem arises. I really enjoy this kind of series and especially have loved this ones.

Juniper has no idea where she came from or who her biological parents are when Zephyr meets her. She has found family that is stronger than many. Zephyr understands this since he has also suffered losses in his life. Together they make a terrific duo. Theirs is one amazing story. If you enjoy paranormal stories you will love Ancient Retribution.

It was welll written with an engaging plotline and well developed characters. It was a fast paced read full of temsion and had a good level of worldbuilding too. Ancient Retribution by Katie Reus
Ancient’s Rising book #5. Post apocalyptic Paranormal romance with dragon shifters. Can be read as stand-alone but better as part of the series.
Juniper is a dragon shifter. She and her crew are investigating who is kidnapping women for the slave trade and then will shut them down. She helps dragon shifter warrior Zephyr close a hell gate and he joins them in their search.

Most of the story is in New Orleans which is being rebuilt after the Fall. It’s tense and fast moving and exciting. Many of the characters from prior books are peripheral including King and Aurora and dragonling Hunter. I’m not sure why I love Hunter so much. Maybe because he seems like a lovable puppy. Sure, the size of an elephant but playful all the same.
Juniper has trauma in her past and has always held herself apart from her adopted family. She is forced to confront a lot of emotional issues here but she’s smart I really liked her strength of character.
For fans of the author, find at least on Easter Egg.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I have also purchased a copy to keep.

I received this ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This is book 5 in the Ancients Rising series by Reus. This was a fast paced and enjoyable reading. The book opens up with Juniper listening in to her Alpha complaining to her adopted parents that she needs control and a stronger set of parents. Her parents and some others decide to leave this pack and join i another pack that would accept Juniper as she is. What is surprising is that Juniper has no memory from before she was found by her parents. She has no idea where she came from or if she has any other family. Jumping forward Juniper is now a hunter for the black ops and she is excellent at her job. During one of these jobs, she meets Zephyr, another Dragon shifter, and they start to have feelings for each other. But they need to concentrate on their upcoming mission and Juniper finds out that she might be a princess from a long-lost clan of dragons. At this time Juniper is trying to find human traffickers, save the humans, try not to fall in love with Zephyr and decide if she wants anything to do with this new long-lost family that has just found her.
