I enjoyed the art style of this manga! It was eye catching and engaging. The cover of this really caught my eye and was the reason for my request.

Thank you Kodansha Comics and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this manga. If I had to combine two different manga that I would personally use to describe this would be My Girlfriend is a Geek (except the leading lady is much nicer) and Wotakoi because of fan references and the slowburn romance. I truly enjoyed this because of the fan culture, the great character dynamics and the adventures that the characters go on. I also appreciated the unique artstyle as well. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars

The premise sounds really up my alley, and it had such potential, but for some reason, I couldn't connect to it. And it's not because of the story or the artwork. The story, simple in its premise, is still interesting, and I appreciated how it talked about different aspects about liking idols, not just the most basic ideas (my guess is the author is one), which was very refreshing to see. Both main characters had their own idol that they like and they behaved differently towards them. This aspect is the one I like most, how being an idol-fan is treated, because it's not frowned upon or treated as something silly. The artwork is very pretty and makes it easy to read.
It's a great read if you want to feel understood or are looking for a fun, cute, quirky romance (and friendship).

I loved this story! From beginning to end, it was awesome. The title really brought me in as I was like OMG Idols and the artwork looks so pretty! Onda and Tachibana are friends and coworkers. Initially, I was like what's going on? And then we learn more about their friendship. I loved how everything unfolded in this volume. The turn to have a male fan was amazing as well. I love the rep!

Akari and Onda are our main characters and they both are big fan of two different idols.
They'll start to date and they'll support each other passion!

A really cute start and a sweet read!

This manga is adult for YA. If you love sweet romances, then this is a great one to pick up. I especially loved seeing how Ondo-san fangirled. This is a perfect manga for any fandom lovers or otakus!

Really cute, both the art and the story. Being in fandom is never the butt of the joke: the heroine and her boyfriend both love being idol fandom and it's something they love about each other and it's great! Just in case anyone was going into this thinking "bisexual love interest, yay!" that doesn't seem to be the implication of Onda's fandom at all; the book explicitly draws a distinction between his fannish love for Kiwa and sexual attraction. Overall, just a really fun read, and an interesting peek into fan culture in Japan.

Okay, seriously, who can resist a title like Having an Idol-Living Boyfriend is the Best! It's so funny and already screams about the humor and charm snuck into the series. Or so I hope. Let's dive in!

Akari Tachibana is an idol fan. Her idols are her world, and she isn't keen on letting that change anytime soon. Thankfully, she can share her idol love with her coworker and friend, Onda-san. He adores his idols almost as much as she does (okay, maybe more).

Only...there's something else going on with Onda-san. He has a secret and is ready to confess it to Akari finally. You see, he's had a thing for her for quite some time, and he's willing to give them a chance, even if it takes some time away from their idol worship.

I went into Having an Idol-Living Boyfriend is the Best! Vol. 1 with really high hopes. I love the idea of a romance forming from a shared interest. It's so human but also charming. Especially since, in this case, they both worship idols.

While I didn't end up loving Having an Idol-Living Boyfriend is the Best! Vol. 1 as much as I had hoped, I certainly enjoyed it! I loved the premise (duh), but I feel like the follow-through was a bit...weak. There were times when the budding romance felt flat, forcing readers to rely on what they're being told (instead of being shown). So that was disappointing.

However, the first volume did manage to work in several endearing or entertaining moments to help balance out those flatter scenes. I have high hopes that the series will get stronger in time – and I hope I'm right.

It's a cute manga but nothing special about it. both MC are very socially awkward which makes for some moments of a laugh but i had a problem visualizing them as adults for me they seem very highschoolers

Cute, light-hearted shoujo manga, Mito Aoi breaks the stereotypes with this fresh series.

Tachibana Akari is a fanatic of pop culture most specifically, of idols. She became friends with Onda, her co-worker, who's also a fan of this type of pop culture and they started to get along until Onda confessed his love for Tachibana, and now she has to juggle between having a boyfriend and having an idol... but their hearts are one and the same, so things might just be more fun than what it might look like.

My gratitude to Kodansha Comics and Netgalley for providing me with an advanced reading copy of this series in exchange for an honest review.

This manga has super cute art and I love the style, but the story was a bit bland for me personally, I'd probably read another two or three books of it but I'm not sure I would continue past that unless something really catches my eye as I read them, can't really recommend it but maybe someone else will enjoy it.

I loved this manga so much and I'm now eagerly awaiting volume two. I think I loved this manga so much in particular because I am a huge nerd about the things that I love. So to read a manga where an adorable couple connects over the fact that they are both nerds about pop idols is such a sweet romance. I also really enjoyed that they initially just started off as buddies who went to shows together and it grew into love, which is very sweet.

This graphic novel was cute, it had cute artwork and you get the idol boyfriend fluff.

What's better that having a boyfriend? Having a boyfriend who shares the same obsession/hobby as you! Having an Idol-Loving Boyfriend is the Best! is super cute. The art is pretty basic in terms of shoujo but the story is really unique and fun.

I think this manga is extremely refreshing for the genre. The characters are loveable and very idol-crazed. I think most readers can relate to the characters individually and also envy the relationship of our main characters. Their relationship is supportive and fun due to their common interest. I am looking forward to reading further volumes.

Thank you to the publisher for sending me a copy of this book through NetGalley!
I really really enjoyed this book! It was so cute and relatable! I love the main character and the main guy who becomes her boyfriend was so interesting to read about. I loved reading about the couple’s interactions and activities. I was a bit confused about their ages since the guy is supposed to be pushing 30 but I have no clue how old the girl is. The only slight problem I had with this was that the format could make it hard to understand the Order of the text. I’m used to reading WEBTOONs so I thought this would be easy to read from the beginning but it took some time before I realized I had to read from the right and even then, sometimes the text bubbles were hard to distinguish from each other and I wasn’t totally sure who was saying what. Other than that, I loved this first volume and definitely am looking forward to reading more of this story!

How wonderful to have a boyfriend who is a Otaku just like you. The one who can fully understand your obsession's and is willing to be with in their activities and whatnots. You can understand each other and give support each other because you both have the same interest. This manga is cute and lovable, this was my first time reading like this aside the Wotakoi. I'm really looking forward for more volumes of this book.
