I think this book was really good it has different photos and has a lot of information about sleep and how to navigate it. I think that this was really good but you need to read a couple of these books before this one as it doesn’t describe everything including basics as much as it should but I really enjoyed this and recommended to a couple friends who’s also into reading about what your dreams mean.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me this eARC to review. Sadly the content within this book is not good for my mental health which I did not realise at the time so I am very sorry for that! I will give this 3 Stars as I couldn't review it properly. Apologies again!
Very informative book. Full of a lot of useful information. This book will also be very useful for future reference
I've always enjoyed the In Focus books, and In Focus Dreams by Angela Mogridge is just as enjoyable. In Focus Dreams provides a great starting groundwork for anyone looking to learn more about the intricacies of their dreams and symbols/meanings to be found within.
A decent introduction to symbols and dream interpretation. Some basic symbols one may see. Some history and other information.
Thank you to the author, publisher and Net Galley for providing a free ebook copy of this title.
I really enjoyed this book. I thought it covered a wide range of topics, gave background and suggestions. I would enjoy the book more in print form, I think, though. As an ARC ebook, that wasn't an option for me, and it was difficult to really read and explore the book in the format provided, so I will look for a print copy of this one when it is published. I think I would enjoy it even more, learn some new things too!
I've been able to read and review a few books in this series, and I'm grateful for the opportunity and for being introduced to this line of books. They are all very informative, and I could see them being a nice resource for my home library
Loved the bits about the history of dream theories and different scientific studies - super interesting! The "dictionary" of dream interpretations was pretty generic and straightforward, however, and didn't really present anything insightful or surprising.
So so so much information. This book goes into the science of dreams and why we dream. Then it tells you what your dreams could mean. I wish that section was larger but still good.
This book was hard for me to get into as it was not what i through it was.
I found the writing so small as had to use my phone as it was not kindle file
This was a did not finish
This was such a fascinating read! I love learning about the body, what it does, why it does it and how! This went pretty in-depth in the psychology of various types of dreams, breaks down each of the 5 stages of sleep, brain waves with wave graphs, as well as areas of the brain and what they do. There is so much to learn from this!
This is a really great reference book for those who love to learn about their dreams. It talks about the history of studying dreams, why we dream, and of course what common dream themes can mean. I had a lot of fun reading through this book!
I really loved this book! It gave a great scientific and historic overview of dreams as well as a really deep look into common dreams. Well written, perfectly organized, and generally a great read.
the book answers the questions of why we dream, do animals dream and different type of dreams such as lucid dreaming of knowing you are dreaming. it goes into the science of dreaming and the different waves. it also goes into the psychology of dreams. what dreams are in regards to religion & spirituality. most common dream meanings are listed and what it means when someone dreams of them. i found this book to be informative & i enjoyed reading the book. i wish there was a kindle version it was rather difficult to read in the NG app.
Thank you NetGalley and Wellfleet Press for the chance to review the arc for In Focus Dreams by Angela Mogridge.
This book was really interesting and more detailed than I thought something of 144 pages could be! Not only does the book cover different theories behind dreams, including religious ones, but it provides a pretty long list of common symbols and their interpretations. I loved the section on dreams in literature and art, and I would have loved for that to be longer.
I love anything to do with dreams and this was no exception! Thank you to netgally and the publisher for letting me read this book early.
This book is a huge help to me. I have anxiety, which prevents me from relaxing most times and sleeping well. This book gave me encouraging steps to follow that helped my anxiety gradually get better. It's not completely gone, but now I know how to manage it to the point where it doesn't get worse. The fun, artsy layout of the book also helped lighten my mood. Definitely a book I would recommend to others with similar problems.
Unfortunately I am unable to view the PDF on my device nor the Netgalley application. I sincerely apologize but unfortunately due to my inability to access the book, I am unable to provide a review.
Nonetheless thank you for this opportunity.
A lot of this book features contributors discussing dreams from a variety of sciences including psychology. When you get to page 60 you get your dream dictionary and that lasts about 60 pages.
The colors are cool and i didn't think that matched the topic. The images are a great addition to the dictionary.
An interesting read, things like this fascinate me. And this book explained so much to me, things that I never knew or had thought about with dreams.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
