Best friends Kat and Rosie love to help at the Calico Comfrey’s Veterinary Surgery in Starfall Forest. But when Rosie makes a new friend, and a flying horse has been found in a trap in the forest, Kat begins to feel threatened and suspicious.

Holly the Flying Horse is the fourth book in the Magical Rescue Vet series. It is a beginner fantasy chapter book that is well suited for readers that enjoy illustrations to help break up text. While I had not read any book from this series before, I was able to follow the story easily. It has an age appropriate conflict regarding friendship and caring for others. The plot is simple and will help build a new reader confidence. The illustrations are adorable and will catch the eye of any animal lover.

This is a delightful series full of lots of magical creatures; from the recognizable such as unicorns and gnomes to others straight out of the imagination of the author like a teasel or flutterpuffs. I can think of quite a few young readers I would personally purchase this series for.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Perfect middle-grade book. Too bad I could not read it in a paper format as I think I would have enjoyed it even more, I wonder... are the pictures colourful?
Loved the story: plenty of important messages here and there, as an animal and all the living creatures lover, I am a huge fan of the basic storyline as well as the particular one in this book.
Great drawings, too!
