Wow! Another great story and another great author to put on my favourites list!!

It feels like the world is falling down around Emily Wilkinson’s ears. She had a PA job she enjoyed and a great no strings attached relationship with her married boss but when her boss decides he is going to give his marriage another go Emily knows she can’t see him day in day out and so she quits. As if things can’t get any worse, she is also homeless since one of her flat mates started a fire in their shared flat! So, Emily has no choice but to go and live back at home with her parents. She is desperate to leave and therefore starts a serious job hunt. When a job offer comes up to be a PA to a wealthy businessman called Charles Hunter, Emily is intrigued and what really sells it to her is that it is a live in position. Emily aces the interview and therefore sets off for a new life in rural Norfolk at Bowford Manor. However, she didn’t count on how attached she would become to the manor…. add in a cute guy called Jamie who helps look after the estate and the horses and suddenly Emily’s life gets a lot more interesting. Then Bowford Manor comes under threat and Charles, Emily and Jamie must work together to keep it safe, will they succeed? You’ll have to read to find out.

This book was so good, I was already loving the writing style at just 5% in and that didn’t change throughout the whole book. I laughed out loud numerous times (furious nose breathing and also at the Lego reference). I always know a book is good when I feel good whilst reading it and this one made me feel exactly that! I definitely wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the characters and therefore I read the last bit of the book really really slowly which is very unusual for me, I just couldn’t bear for it to end.

I honestly can’t believe this is only the authors second book, I have already purchased her first one and look forward to her third which is out later this year.

Overall, this book was excellent, it has everything, comedy, romance, love and above all a character to hate (if you read it, you’ll know who I mean!). It totally deserves 5* and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys rom coms or just wants a break from our crazy world. You won’t regret buying this one.

Thank you to NetGalley, Heidi Stephens and Headline Publishing Group for my advanced reading copy. Out now.

This is a very charming book. It kind of snuck up on me and I couldn’t stop reading. It’s funny and the romance feels very natural and honest.

Briefly, Emily’s roommates burns down her flat and everything in it. Her married boyfriend and boss decided to go back to his wife, and now she needs a new job, new clothes, and somewhere to live.
She finds the answers in an ad for a PA for a dotcom millionaire named Charles. The job requires her to live on-site in the country.

Emily figures there’s no way she can fall in love, but then she meets the handsome stable hand, who happens to be Charles’ son. If you like a good romcom you’ll enjoy this book. 4.5 stars.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.

Light hearted escapism that had me completely invested in the characters, to the extent they keep appearing in my head while I'm reading my next book!

Emily goes to work for Mr Hunter who she gets on with, and comes across his sons. One of which is a rude obnoxious twat, and the other who is down to earth, horse mad and utterly perfect for Emily.

Adam makes me want to throw something every time he appears on page, whereas Jamie mad me want to jump between the pages of the book to become Emily,

I really enjoyed all aspects of this, especially seeing how Emily and her family to a lesser extent, adjust to the world Emily finds herself in, where helicopters are mentioned as a form of transport, far more often you would imagine.

I loved how despite their different upbringings, they had a lot of common ground and I was rooting for them.

I also enjoyed meeting the others that worked for Mr Hunter, and in the case of Anna, trying to discover why she was acting the way she did.

This is my first book by this author and i will definitely keep my eyes open more. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thank you to Headline Accent and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This read was just what I needed to get out of a slump I have been in! It was engaging, easy to fall into and kept me thoroughly entertained. I love it when a story becomes like an afternoon spent with a good friend and "restores your soul" with its goodness and delight. This is a book of that nature. It is sure to bring a smile to your face and it will not disappoint!

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

In Heidi Stephens’s Never Gonna Happen, this sweet romcom is emotional and tender-hearted with some bits of humor to keep you laughing in stitches. Emily Wilkinson had lost her home due to a fire, dumped her boyfriend and former boss, and was out of the job in Goodwood, England. She’s the only daughter in a loving family who adored her. But what’s she got to do to move forward from this difficult bind? She looked for a new job and found one with live-in arrangements in Chichester by working as a personal assistant to a millionaire named Mr. Charles Hunter. As she helped him with his business affairs, she ran into Jamie, the stable manager, on the first day of the job. Later she didn’t expect to fall for him, the son of her boss, while she tried to keep business away from pleasure. It became complicated when she dealt with the house staff and Jamie’s brother Adam, who had plans to deal with the family estate. As she worked with her boss to come up with a plan, things would be changing for Emily and Jamie unexpectedly for the future. Would they make a go at it?.

This romcom hit all the right spots with humor and romance to tickle my funny bone. I cared for Emily, who had dealt with unexpected challenges in her life, and worked her butt off in a new role and environment. She also had an issue with her self-image. Jamie was a charming bloke, who cared for Emily with a whole heart, and became the perfect mate for her. The dual scenic locations of Goodwood and Chichester were picturesque and charming. The theme of this story is love can sneak up to you unexpectedly when you least expect it.

This heart-warming romcom is an emotional tear-jerker. I had nothing to nitpick on this novel since I loved it 1000%. I rated this book, five out of five stars, because it was 100% perfect If you love heart-warming romcoms, check out Never Gonna Happen this summer. This is recommended for those who love romcoms, classic and present-day, and loves Hallmark movies.

`this is a sweet romance where she falls for the son of the manor. A light read but not enough conflict for me. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book.

I devoured this book in a day, it was heart-warmingly funny and the absolute perfect summer read this year. If you haven’t got this one on your TBR then you absolutely need to add it. I definitely wish Charles was my boss! I’ll definitely be buying this one for some friends so that they can experience this baby too!

Emily is a great FMC. Super strong lead, but still has flaws that make her very relatable. The writing style was a bit too choppy for me, and I didn't enjoy that, but the story was excellent.

What a brilliant summer read! This honestly has everything you need, strong females, great friendships, romance, horse riding, English countryside, exotic beaches, villains and mystery!

The blurb of this book originally put me off a little as I am not a fan of reading about affairs and so I put off reading this one but this was such a small detail of the book that I wish I hadn't. I thought Emily was a brilliant character and I love that she decided she wanted better for herself and took control.

I really enjoyed how down to earth Emily's family were and they provided a great amount of humour too.

I absolutely loved Charles's character, he was the perfect gentleman and I adored that he respected his employees and stood up to his children when their behaviour was out of line. Jamie was a great love interest although I think he needed to learn from his father on how to stand up to people a bit more. There was some steam between the couple but it was mainly closed door for those who prefer that.

Fans of Heidi Swain and Karen Swan will absolutely love this one.

I loved this book. Emily's life takes a down turn when her relationship of sorts finishes and makes her job uncomfortable. Looking for something new with a good salary and maybe somewhere to live has Emily being interviewed for two jobs. However one of them excites her more. She starts working for Mr Hunter a millionaire who travels all over the world. But all is not well within his family and Emily has to cope with jealously, heart break, bullying and love, all whilst being 200 miles away from her mum and dad. Will she stand up for herself or flee at the first hurdle. A read you will find hard to put down

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. My first by this author, I really enjoyed the writing style. Good characters and storyline as we watch Emily try to get her life back on track. It’s a light, fun and enjoyable read that is made for summer and holiday reading!

A fantastic summer read! Loved it. Any author that can make Norfolk sound as glamorous as a tropical location is a talented writer. I really fell in love with the characters of this book - including the ‘support’ family and friend characters. Everyone seemed so alive, likeable and thankfully there were no long monologues about their back stories. I would definitely recommend this book to friends and family whilst I’m rooting through job adverts to become a PA to a travelling billionaire….

This was my first experience reading something by this author and it was quite an enjoyable experience. The story caught my attention from the beginning and held it all the way through. This was a quick and easy read, but left quite an impression. The book definitely left me with a smile on my face and a happy feeling afterwards. The characters were interesting and well-developed with realistic qualities that gave them an authentic personality and were easily relatable. The story follows Emily and she has pretty much lost everything and is really down on her luck. She decides she needs a change and takes a new job. Emily is determined not to mix business with pleasure, but is not so successful in that aspect. With a wonderful cast of characters, the story was delightfully cute and I really enjoyed the writing style. I enjoyed seeing Emily pick up the pieces and get her life back on track after all the setbacks she had had. If you're looking for a fun, quick and light read, then you definitely will want to pick this one up.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I really struggled to continue to read this book and therefore only made it a third into the book where I then had to put it down.

The writing was a bit dull, the characters weren't interesting (except Carol and Mr Hunter but even they didn't make me want to continue reading) and the plot/ timeline was utterly confusing and disjointed. The chemistry of the characters is just not there either.

As soon as the story shifted to Emily bringing Jamie home and them deciding to pretend to be lovers I was like nope as it was completely silly and not needed. There are plenty of good romcom books where the girl brings her boss home for Christmas and they don't need to pretend to be lovers.

I read this was meant to be an enemies to lovers trope but honestly did not see where that was in the book and maybe it picks up beyond where I stopped.

I am now confused over why the picture of the cover is a beach when it is more of a Christmas themed book.

Overall I really struggled to finish the book as it needs to have a good plot or characters and for me it didn't Also the writing style was not my liking as I found it difficult to follow the story and stay engaged.

Emily has lost everything, possessions, job, boyfriend so when she takes a chance with a job as a live in pa at Bowford Manor, she thinks she is the perfect fit. But is she?

I adored this book and the characters within they all added something to the story and kept me coming back for more

This is the perfect summery read that will keep you hooked throughout!!
