I really enjoyed the banter between Frankie & Max. Those settings too, another winner from Macintosh
A fun sweet read! Highly recommend.
Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for my ARC.
Lovely story, made me smile and laugh out loud. I read this in 2 sittings. Really enjoyable. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion
The Meet cute method by portia Macintosh
Frankie is a a bit of a disaster in the romance department which doesn’t help as she is a love & romance journalist in a magazine that has a new hatchet editor and her job is now in in the balance. Max is the dishy tech guy she gets stuck in the lift with. Follow the journey and see if they both find romance either together or apart .
A quick and easy read great beach. The characters the disasters trials and tribulations a great read 4.5/5
Typical romance read. It didn't feel like anything special to me, even though it was well-written. It just wasn't the type of book where I "couldn't put it down" and there wasn't too much spice. If you like a "closed door" romance, then this is a great one for you! Just wasn't for me personally.
An easy feel good read. Will it start in a lift for Frankie? Imagine meeting someone in a lift when you least expect it. Frankie is expecting promotion but will she get promotion or will she find love along the way.
The cover is amazing and draws you in, but the comedy in here had me laughing out loud. So sexy, too. Just what I needed.
Sweet and easy to read, not too taxing. A nice book to take on holidays when you want to read something light and fluffy. A bit of romance is always nice to read when its well written like this. You'l be rooting for and expecting for a happy ending!
This was a cute, easy, feel good read. I liked the characters but I didn’t feel you really got to know anyone well enough to love them and I did feel you didn’t actually get to see any real chemistry/build up of the characters as it took awhile to get going and actually get into the plot. However it was sweet with some actual laugh out loud funny moments.
A perfect read for people wanting to escape from the drudgery of the world. The book has multiple plot conveniences, but know that it is just because it is a lighthearted read. The ideal place to read this book is the beach with a cool drink in your hand. I can see this one getting made into a romcom movie for sure.
This was super funny and adorable! I loved the banter and relationship of our couple and the funny bad meet cutes that happen lol. I especially enjoyed them being in hAwaii which is my home state!
Really really enjoyable book about Frankie, whose job is on the line unless she comes up with a good article. Enter her idea of her writing about meet cutes, those lovely events where two people fall in love from the off. And I was in from the off, with a great opening that totally had me! The book was like a rom com movie, with some fab settings (Hawaii anyone?) and rom com clichés thrown in. I have to admit at times it didn’t read smoothly for me, but I really enjoyed! Thanks to the publisher for the book in return for an honest review.
This is a truly delightful rom com, a total joy to read,
With journalist Frankie hoping for the promotion she'll need
Only to find a problem even getting to work on time
And her boss has been fired - is she the next in line?
Her role is working as a dating expert who unsuccessfully tries
All the different apps to find her partner for the rest of their lives.
This isn't good enough for her new boss who makes it clear
Frankie has to come up with some brilliant new idea....
So comes 'The Meet Cute Method' and they all agree
Frankie will use movie romance tropes and then they'll see
Which ones will work - and which are a total fail?
Will she meet her soul mate and off into the sunset sail?
This is a lovely story, full of disasters and good cheers
As Frankie tries out all of her boss and friends ideas.
Then comes a dream offer that her boss is all for
So off in First Class Frankie will now soar.
Get ready for family dramas, secrets and surprises
As, at last, Frankie slowly realises
True love isn't only in the movies and what is more
Sometimes near chances you need to explore!
However, lies and confrontations can spoil their chance
Of what could be a fantastic, heartwarming romance.
Is there anyway they can discover
A more normal route to find out more about each other?
For my complementary copy, I say thank you,
Such a fun, heartwarming read and this is my honest review.
I loved this book so much! Her writing is always spot on and this was no different! Such a great story and strong characters
This is my second book with MacIntosh after the delightfulness of my first encounter with her work. And I think, I just come to love the fun and hopeful tone of her books.
The Meet Cute Method is has been entertaining that just makes you feel lighthearted as you read them. While it is not something that I would put with my other five stars books, but I know I will opt for MacIntosh just for some palette cleanser.
Overall very cute book. Parts of it I felt like could’ve been cut out but overall enjoyed.
Thank you NetGalley for eARC in exchange for an honest review
This book answers the question "what would happen if How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and The Unhoneymooners had a baby?"
The start of this book drags a little but it does pick up around 40 per cent in, which feels a little late to "stick around cos it gets better"
There was a strange love triangle between Franke, Albie, and Max, which I didn't completely love (ok family should share but maybe not in that sense?)
Some of the dates Frankie went on were horrific (read: Tom) and I didn't love Alison, but Cora was a wonderful friend to Frankie.
If you're not a lover of steamy romance, this is very closed door so you'll find a good home here.
Started slow and couldn’t hold my attention. I got distracted by other things and couldn’t finish this one.
Light-hearted romance novel, great for a simple escapism.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
This book was just a little too cheese-y for me. It felt like it was trying too hard to be funny and quirky but it just had me cringing. It definitely dragged on a bit and I didn't like how it was unclear for a lot of the book who the love interest actually was. I did think that Frankie and Max ended up having good chemistry, but it took us a long time to get there and I was just really bored in the first half.
