I had been looking forward to reading this book for a while and it did not disappoint. Gotta love a long weekend where you can binge read 😊 I was immediately drawn into the story, the opening chapter horrific for the main character and I wanted to know more.

Claudia is a rich kid with the perfect life… or is she? She has thousands of followers on Instagram, is she studying art at NYU, she is popular and has a healthy trust fund. What more could she want? Behind all of this is a lonely girl who just wants to be loved. She wakes early one night in her dorm room with no memory of what happened the night before. She is bruised and battered and soon realises that she has been raped. It is spring break and her friends are not around. She finds comfort in a stranger… and then she goes missing.

This is a tough story to read at times. There are some pretty graphic scenes. It is the story of fame, power and revenge, how far would you do to seek justice? I just had to keep reading. At times it was a little far fetched but then again, people with money have no limits right.

I really enjoyed this book, it was well written with a compelling storyline and characters that were well developed and believable. The book does contain some triggering moments but the author deals with them sensitively so it wasn't an uncomfortable read. I was gripped right from the start.

3.5 star review for The Missing Hours. The missing hours kept me invested right from the start. Worried for Claudia who couldn't remember what had happened to her and knowing something had. I was invested in finding out how she would move on from it when she had nobody but Trevor who she had just met.

There were times when there was a bit of filler but I think it was to show why her sister Edie didn't follow up more.as well as developing some of the other characters story.

It was an interesting topic to highlight and explore highlighting how difficult it is for victims to come forward.

I would be interested in reading more from the author.

Claudia comes from a wealthy family, looks, personality, Instagram followers and basically the world at her feet. Then one night, which involve missing hours that she is unable to remember, her whole life including her reputation are ruined. The rest of her life is also falling apart with her parents marriage on the rocks, her sister having a baby with a man she has hardly spent any time with and now a video of her indiscretions on this night have been videoed and viewed by many.

Claudia meets Trevor and he is a great support to her and someone she is able to lean. Once the fall out becomes too much, Claudia disappears. The book then takes a massive turn focusing on revenge for those who have cast her aside and for what has been done to her.

I enjoyed the story and had to keep reading to find out what would become of Claudia and would she be able to turn her life around. This is a tough situation and I can understand her need to lash out and make others pay for the terrible circumstances she finds herself in.

This is a sensitivitly written book. About a horrific event that happens to Claudia and what happens in her life after the event. I felt like the book could have been a little bit better. I don't think all of the filler information in the book needed to be there because I thought that the topic could have held its own throughout the story.

I did not like this book. I couldn’t get into it. I skimmed the last 25% to finally be done. It is not a long book but it is filled with endless useless detail that does not advance the story. Why do I care about Edie, the sister’s, labor and then breast feeding struggles? I don’t. Why do I care about some guy’s band winning a Green Day related contest? I don’t. This was not my thing. I like books that have more content and less fluff. I should have trusted the overall mediocre rating more than the handful of good reviews I read.
