Another smashing instalment in this series that keeps the pace breathtakingly fast! The story is well thought out with its fair share of baddies!
Kerry Kaya’s, “The Reckoning,” is a gangland thriller, that will snag you in for a great read. Kerry Kaya does an excellent job of ramping up the tension in the story, especially at Lexi’s 18th birthday party at Moray’s and Danny’s restaurant & bar. As the reader, you will be biting your nails as Arron, Moray’s son, filled with years of hatred executes his well-planned assassination.
This story has a great plot that intertwines love, hate, and jealousy to its best. Character development is another strong point of the story. Danny’s fiancé and lover, Maria, is a great example—she adds lots of excitement!
The only negative part of the story is an editing issue: the excessive usage of “screwed up his face/screwed up her face” and “snaked his tongue across his teeth.
.
Overall, I enjoyed the story and thank Kerry Kaya, Boldwood Books, and Net Galley for the opportunity to review this book.
Once the top dog, Danny Mckay has walked away from his old gangland life. He’s on the straight and narrow now, looking forward to settling down and living a quiet life. But trouble seems to follow Danny. And when his own family is caught up in a shocking event, Danny is dragged back into the gangland world, hell bent on revenge. I cannot write a review to do this book justice. I was hooked from the first page. The writing is superb and enthralling and overall, I just loved this book.

Oh my word what a gripping book this is I wasn't expecting that but anything from Kerry Kaya has me hooked. This book has so many twists in it and has you gripped I don't want to say too much as that would spoil the book for others but WOW a brilliant plot and fabulous characters(well just a few) 5* and thank you to Kerry Kaya a true ganglander.
Holy guacamole!!!!!!
I absolutely love Kerry Kaya and have read all her books. This one didn’t disappoint. I couldn’t wait to read it, but I didn’t want it to end.
Fantastic series and fantastic writing as always.
It can be read as a stand alone, but you’d enjoy it much more if you read it as a series.
Thank you for letting me review this title, I can’t wait for the next instalment
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this eARC.
What can I say to do justice to how good this book is. It started off well and pulled me in right away. I really liked the main character Danny who is very believable and portrayed realistically. When a member of his family is hurt he wants to find out why, who was behind this and make them pay. As always there are characters you just can’t help but like and root for, and characters you absolutely hate. I loved all the separate story threads and that the story was told through different characters. I found this to be a very engaging and well written book, it flowed really well and grabbed and held my attention from the first page to the last. A brilliant, thrilling read and I look forward to the next one. If you like gangland books then give this one a go, you won’t be disappointed.
Book 4 of this series and even though it was my first one, I had not one single problem in picking up the story. I got the picture straight away. There were a lot of characters I did not know yet of course and it was great fun getting to know them.
People often say: ‘once a criminal, always a criminal’ and that is often very true. But people do can change for the better and turn their lives around although not everybody is convinced they really have changed. They think it’s a façade even when it isn’t.
But then, one night during something that should have been a very happy occasion, disaster strikes. What will they do then? That the one million dollar question…
Normally in gangland crimes, family - in the broadest sense of the word – stick together no matte what, but sometimes personal gain is more important and turn their back on their gang.
And than that beast that has been asleep for so many years starts to wake up again. Will it be let out or is that strong friendship built up and held strong throughout decades enough to keep it in its cage?
What can I say? I loved it! Gangland crime is hard and violent, but some of them are not bad through and through. They fight for what they love and defend it in their own way. Is it the right one? No, but it’s very effective. 😊 5 stars
Thank you

Once again Kerry Kaya has given us another great , gritty crime novel . Her plots are always fast paced , at times violent but always very enjoyable .
This time we are introduced to Danny McKay , a man trying his best to be good in a bad world until something happens to his family then he is out to seek redemption - in a big way .
Brilliant read.
Firstly thank you Netgalley for this ARC
What can I say this series is the best gangland at its best. Brilliant author can't wait to read more
