Sorry for the super late review, I love Jill Steeples, this book is funny, engaging and easy to follow. An enjoyable read and recommended author.

I do not usually love ghost stories, and this one was no exception. Throughout reading this book, I kinda felt Demi Moore Ghost-ish, and I did not love that film either.

Still, it is a good book, nicely written, with an interesting story line. The characters did not have real depth, but there was something about them which made them likeable even if I could not fully connect to any of them. I liked all the ways Jimmy expressed his growing love for Alice, they just did not really seem to have that level of chemistry which the book claimed they had.

However, I think Steeples nailed the right level of bitterness and sweetness and sadness, the book works as a whole. It makes you think about a lot of things: the meaning vs the shortness of life, serendipity vs fate, how to find love when something is dragging you back...

Not very light, I am afraid, but a nice story.

Jill Steeples writes such lovely stories with such warm characters, and this was no exception. Read in one sitting and enjoyed, I was disappointed when it finished.

Charming and romantic, a wonderful summer read that left me with a feeling of warmth and happiness. Great characters, good backdrop, and the story flowed really well.

It is a wonderful and uplifting story about soulmates. This book is not what I anticipated it to be when I begin to read. I wonder at the beginning of the story how the story gonna be develop given that the main characters are from a different world. It does come across to me whether is there another main character in the story that can drive this story and that Jimmy is the guardian angel in this story. This keep me in anticipating till I reach the part that both Alice and Jimmy realize what is going on. It kinda make me sad and bitter for their fate. This feeling that stayed with me till the end of the story .

From the moment that I started this book, it pulled me in and kept me wanting to read more and more and I have to admit that I finished the whole book in a couple of sittings and I really, thoroughly enjoyed it all!
It was a wonderful storyline and dealt with the afterlife in quite a light hearted way. It was also a very unique story and I had not read anything like it before but definitely in a good way!
After reading it, it really did make me think that you should live every day as though it’s your last, just in case…

This is another lovley read for Jill, all her books are great. Interesting and enjoyable with great storylines. % stars.

I loved this unusual story. It was funny and very entertaining. This was a different type of story and I just wasn’t expecting this at all. It actually made it a lot more enjoyable and it made me remember the film Bilthe Spirit which is a film I’ve enjoyed a lot over the years.

I have read a Starting Over At Primrose Woods by this author and really liked it. This one, while sweet and romantic, just didn't hit that mark. I liked how sweet and funny and caring Jimmy is with Alice. The relationship, although slightly odd, was truly romantic. But I just couldn't get over that no matter what, there was no future. If he truly cared that much for her, wouldn't he move on and let her be with the guy who obviously wanted to be with her and was actually real? It's hard to say more without some major spoilers. I plan to read some of her other books anyway since I liked the last one. I found it funny that I picked up and finished this book on Friday the 13th, which is the mentioned in the very first page of this book. What a coincidence!

Falling in love with a dead guy who is stuck between life and dead sounds neither original nor credible. Yet, one of the main characters being a ghost was not my main issue here. I felt the characters flat and the plot, especially at the end, sloppy.

I have read other books from Jill Steeples, and they were delightful, so I will not give up on her. This one just was not for me.

What a truly stunning read this book is and Jill never fails to disappoint. Heart warming and beautifully written.

This book was a complete juxtaposition of what works and what doesn’t in a book.

For starters, the synopsis of this book was just so promising! A plain Jane and a celebrity who come to depend on each other? Sounds great. And, really, the story was pretty sweet and entertaining.

However, my issue was with how, at times, the story seemed a little weak and I failed to connect with the characters–mostly Jimmy.

Which, once you read the story, I think you’d understand.

On the more positive side, however, I think this book was one of the quickest, easiest reads for me because I really couldn’t wait to see how this one ended for Jimmy and Alice. I wanted the happy-ever-after–I got a version of that.

I really did like this enough that I’m going to have to read another Steeples book. It was light-hearted, sometimes sad, and whimsical.

When We Meet Again is wonderful story about finding your soul mate! The story is very uplifting and funny but it has its sad moments as well. It will definitely have you laughing and crying! The characters are engaging and entertaining. I especially enjoyed seeing Alice's character change and learn that it was ok to be happy! It's one of those books you lay back and read on a cozy day off and just have some fun and a good time! Nice read!

I have read and enjoyed some of Jill Steeples books so I was delighted to receive an early preview copy of this book. I really enjoyed reading this book. It is quirky and unique, with some humour and twists. I liked the characters
and the storyline.

A sweet story which is also very difficult one to review without giving spoilers!
I really liked Alice Fletcher, the protagonist- she is a hard-working, super-organised PA, someone I would imagine has to be quite down-to earth. At the same time she is kind and romantic. Alice is driving home on Friday the 13th, happily thinking about her weekend, when she sees a car which has clearly been mangled by a horrific accident and a shell-shocked man next to it. Alice doesn't think twice before offering her assistance to Jimmy. Even when she realises he is a TV celebrity, all she sees is someone who needs comfort and help in his admittedly more than unusual predicament. Gradually they get to know each other. There's a special kind of trust, respect, and even tenderness that is growing between them, even when a scandal threatens to tarnish Jimmy's reputation and only Alice is willing to do everything possible to clear his name. Jimmy is sweet, caring, and thoughtful- I dare any reader to try and not fall in love with him, but he has a unique kind of problem that sooner or later will force them to go their separate ways. Or won't it?
A very quick, easy read, surprisingly uplifting, despite the sad circumstances in which the protagonists meet. A simple message of living your life to the fullest and taking care of people around you might be a bit predictable, but it is still true and it still helps to hear it again to make us look around and appreciate what we have.
Looking forward to reading Jill's next book!

A goosebumpy read...

This was a very different read and I wasn't really sure if I would like it... But I ended up loving it!!

The story line was different yet intriguing. Loved all the characters and I cried with lots of emotions...

Light hearted easy reading!!
Alice is driving home from an average week at work when she sees a car has crashed into field, Jimmy Mack is sitting dazed by the smashed up car. Alice wants to help and introduces more into her life than she could ever have imagined!!
Its a fun premise of love between the living and the dead. Bit of celebrity versus normal lives, some great banter, and real love insights!!!
Loved the first half, felt the book losing its way midthrough, then back with it, although too predictable towards the end hence only 4 stars.
However, this is a good fun read, but I couldn't get too invested or involved in any of the characters.

Enjoyed this book. Different from anything I've read before. Alice stops when she sees a crashed car at the side of the road. There's a man in a daze beside the car. Alice then realises it's Jimmy Mack a well know tv personality. That's when things change and Alice's life changes for ever. Sad at times but also funny
