Thank you to Matador and NetGalley for the opportunity to read There's No Business Like International Business and provide an honest review.
Having lived in Asia for over 5 years, I was intrigued by the premise of the book and was looking forward to comparing my impressions of Japanese and Korean business practices with those of the author. However, the author lacked deep insight into these practices and instead shared what is better described as "first impressions". That, in addition to his troublesome characterization and focus on the annoying/pushy/"crazy" female subordinate I found particularly distasteful. Often people who have lived abroad or traveled extensively are told that they should write a book because they have myriad tales of adventures that entertain friends and colleagues upon their return. Often they should ignore the recommendation.
