I have, obviously, chosen not to finish this title and review it. I was not able to connect with the characters.
I apologize for the lateness of this review, I was gong through notes and making sure all had been updated and found some really old DNF titles that needed to be at least acknowledged.
Thank you, albeit very late, for the opportunity to read and review this title.
I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.
This was a fun story that was easy to read and kept me glued to the pages! I haven’t read a lot by Serena Bell but I will be looking for more in the future!

I loved this book so much! Her writing is always spot on and this was no different! Such a great story and strong characters
This book was only okay, very predictable, not very memorable. I'm writing this review some time since I read the book and there is nothing to make it stand out from all the others I've read. This book is mostly about sex and well it may be my own personal thing but I would like to think if you've only lost your much loved wife just recently you wouldn't be getting down and dirty with someone in an alley.
I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Super cute rom-com and I loved all the characters. I'm not always a massive fan of the pregnancy trope (even though there wasn't a pregnancy trope) there were kids which is close enough for me!
But overall, a cute and fun rom-com with some good twists and turns.
This book was archived before I had time to read it, so I am not able to give accurate feedback. Thank you for the opportunity, sorry I was unable to get to it in time.
A cute and steamy, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, grumpy sunshine romance!
Sawyer and Elle were likable and their characters and actions believable. After Elle was blindsided with her husband's divorce for his ex, and Sawyer's wife passing away, this left the two of them broken and needing to heal.
Little did they know that after a one-night stand months ago, they would come face to face again through their kids.
This book was full of chaos and joy and love, and made my heart flutter!
This is a re-release of Sleepover, a contemporary second chance, neighbours to lovers romance.
Sawyer has just moved into a new house with his son with plans to renovate it. Little does he realise that the women next door is the women he had a one night stand with in an alley a couple of months earlier.
Elle is surprised to find her new neighbour is the guy she slept with to try and get over her ex-husband. When their sons become instant best friends it's impossible to avoid awkward interactions whilst having flashbacks to the intimacy they shared.
This was a really fun read that had me entertained throughout. Definitely has some spicyness so look out if that is not your jam.
I'm loving everything I read from Serena Bell lately.
Whoa! What a ride. It was very fast-paced. The writing style kept me hooked and I didn't find myself losing any interest. I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters and how real the story felt. The author did a great job painting the setting, so it was easy for me to visualize the scene played out before me. I recommend giving this one a chance!
I really liked Sleepover by Serena Bell! It was a cute romcom with more steam than I was expecting, but still really good. Binge read this in a day and loved the character dynamics, the romance and the tension ;)
An absolutely delightful book! I really enjoy Serena Bell's writing and thought that Elle and Sawyer were such a fun couple.
What a dirty dirty book. Let’s start off with that. I had no idea I was getting myself into soft core territory.
The first few chapters were annoying because they were all the same. Flashbacks on both their parts to their one night stand and how they anted to do it again. I was getting pretty bored. But the transition to romance and their second chance at love was nice to watch unfold. It felt real, and the emotions felt real too.
Sleepover is one of the best contemporary romances released in the past ten years. You don’t need me to tell you that. But maybe you do need me to let you know that the book’s just been reissued and if you don’t own it, you should run and grab your own copy.
Sawyer Paulson has just started renting a tumbledown house from Doris Wheeling which is, to quote his brother Brooks, “a shithole.” He and his son Jonah are looking to move on two years after the death of his wife Lucy, and he figures a new home will contribute to that start. They settle in immediately, and Jonah instantly makes friends with the kid his own age who lives next door, Madden. When Sawyer sees Madden’s mom, he’s stunned, because the woman happens to look very much like someone he had a recent against-a-brick wall pump-and-run assignation with.
Elle Dunning definitely remembers Sawyer from that one-hour (minute?) stand two months before – to her, he’s the rebound guy, the first one she’d had sex with since her divorce from her ex-husband, Trevor. Now, Trevor is about to marry the woman he dumped his family for, and Madden is handling things poorly, so his friendship with Jonah is a definite plus. Elle never planned on seeing Sawyer again, but since their boys get along, there’s no shame in being neighborly.
Elle and Sawyer try to be friends, but it’s pretty hard to resist the temptation to be more. Can they form a more perfect union and finally find true love with one another?
Definitely, and it’s a fun ride getting there. The joy of Sleepover is how hard Elle and Sawyer try to suppress their desire until they simply can’t take it anymore. It’s a bonus that they’re good people, two complex individuals who manage to find love together in spite of their flaws. Sawyer is still mourning his wife, Elle’s trying to learn how to co-parent with her ex husband without any bitterness being involved. Together, in that messy mix of emotions, Elle and Sawyer manage to find love.
The kids are wonderful, credible kids, and their friendship and relationship with their parents is wonderfully written. Bell’s writing is so good, so impressive, that it sticks with the reader years later.
Everything about Sleepover is golden, memorable and beautifully done.

This book has a lot of things I love: grumpy-sunshine, single dad, and forced proximity. BUT it had one thing i really didn't like. i hate when books are steamy and have kids heavily featured in them. it just weirds me out. I did really enjoy Sawyer and Elle though
I just love Serena bell books. this was such a light fun and enjoyable read. this is the perfect weekend cuddle up and fall in love with the characters and story book.
I was in the mood for a romantic comedy so this book showed up at the perfect time! I laughed, I swooned, I had a great time, what more could you ask for?? I love the single parent trope so I really enjoyed this book!
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the earc in return for an honest review.
3.5 stars from me. The cover didn’t match the book. Loved the book love the story on how they met . Thank you NetGalley for this arc !

I absolutely adore this book! I am a huge lover of grumpy x sunshine trope, the guy being all, ‘I’ll never love again because i have been hurt but love but i will love you forever’ and the girl being like, ‘I too have been hurt by love but so happy go lucky i am willing to give love a try again’. I think the only thing i disliked was the original meeting, I don’t know about you but I know full well that you couldn’t pay me enough money to have sex in an alleyway but hey that’s just me. Everyone is different. It’s not your usual meet cute but i love how each romance novel i read the meet cute it different and I’ve never see that one before.
Other than that, I really enjoyed this book and the interactions with Elle and Sawyer i loved the chemistry between them and i adore the instant relationship between their sons. It was so nice. I really liked the different aspects of both of the characters grief, Elle grieving over getting a divorce and Sawyer grieving the lose of his wife and you see how they both grow individually but also together. I definitely recommend the book.
Grumpy / Sunshine here we come!
I am not a fun of single dad stories, but this one was too much fun to pass up. The way they originally meet and then the forced proximity had me screaming! Sawyer and Elle has hot chemistry that was jumping off the pages when they would reflect on what had happened and then what does happen!?! A very steamy great vacation/ summer read.
