This is part of a series but works well as a standalone. The characters were likeable. Well written finale to the story.

I love a war time story and this didn't disappoint in any way. I haven't as yet read the first two books in this series but it was very easy to pick up the storyline. I will be going back to read the whole series in order. The war made things difficult to obtain things especially for weddings so find out out these girls get on to make the best of the times they lived in. 5 stars.

Thanks to netgalley and publisher for this ARC

I have read a few of Jenny Holmes books and thoroughly enjoyed them so looked forward to reading The Air Raid Girls: Wartime Brides.
I have to admit to finding the first 33% of this book a little drawn out with a great deal of unnecessary description and some repetitiveness. This the first in this series that I have read and maybe should have read the previous books prior to this!
The troubles each of the girls had were mostly very believable, also the way in which each found solutions.
Enjoyable read once into the story but I can only award 4 stars.
Many thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book

Having not read the first two books in the series, I was concerned I would get a bit lost in this one, but was keen to read it from the blurb. I needn't have worried - it works well as a stand alone story, although having enjoyed this one so much I will definitely be heading back to read books 1 and 2!

Sisters Connie and Lizzie, along with friend Pamela, are surviving through dangerous times. They are active members of the ARP, helping to keep their community safe while keeping their relationships alive. Their partners, Tom, Bill and Fred are also struggling with their own wartime problems. Can the 6 of them, along with new friend Sally, find their way through the messes they face?

An addictive tale, it kept me engrossed.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I was looking forward to reading the third book in this series.

I loved reading about what Lizzie, Connie and Pamela were doing now and pleased that the story was just as good as previous books.

It had romance, drama and made me cry.

I recommend this novel.

In this 3rd book of the Air Raid Girls we join Pamela, Lizzie & Connie as they go about their work during the most difficult times.
The girls are all in relationships with Fred, Bill & Tom respectively, not everything goes smoothly for them. Lodgers move into Pamela’s uncles house and treat Fred badly which forces him to take action. Lizzie & Connie work in the family bakery until Connie is forced by events to take it easy. Lizzie & Bill don’t have a trouble free time either. Young Sally is just getting over a relationship with Ron when she starts working with Pamela at her uncle’s company. Ron decides to cause some trouble to get back at Sally which has dreadful consequences for others.
I particularly enjoyed this book as there is so much going on, you can’t put it down.
