I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this cookbook and the recipes. It was aesthetically pleasing, and the photos of the food were clean and well-lit. Now, the recipes? The ones I made were simple, fast, easy, and very delicious. This cookbook would be a great addition to one’s collection, especially if one gets tired of the same ol’ tofu recipes or wants to try tofu but is hesitant. The recipes showcase tofu’s versatility and adaptability. This isn’t a vegan cookbook, but the recipes can easily be ‘veganized’.

Overall, I’m super glad I got to review this cookbook and test out a few (delicious) recipes. I highly recommend it. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This cooking book is absolutely brilliant, and i want to try all the recipes, i only did a couple of these because i had an operation to take my gallbladder out and for the next couple of weeks I need to really be careful with what I eat.

I feel that tofu is a kind of ingredient that receives little love because people don’t know how to prepare it well, and in this book you have several recipes that go from main to deserts using tofu, and each photo is more gorgeous than the last, so I highly recommend this cooking book.

Thank you NetGalley for the free ARC for this cooking book and this is my honest opinion.

In interesting take on tofu.

The recipes are imaginative and look very inviting. They are colourful and you really want to try them.

I would definitely recommend this book. Especially because I’m fairly new to tofu.

Twist On Tofu is a solid entry into the world of vegetarian cookbooks, focusing on tofu as a main ingredient. This would be a great resource for someone who is learning to cook with tofu. The recipes are for common foods that feature tofu, especially Asian recipes. I love that most of the recipes include pictures. Perfect for a tofu novice or enthusiast!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC. All thoughts are my own.

This is a great cookbook. I want to eat more tofu but I never know how to use it.
This book shows you how to use tofu in many of your favorite recipes. I can’t wait to make tofu marinara, tofu bahn mi, and BBQd tofu. There are delicious sounding desserts too, like chocolate banana mousse and coconut tofu pudding.
This cookbook is a winner for me, 5 stars. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.

I am plant based and I have been struggling to find recipes..

Although I have just downloaded this, I have already made two of the recipes. Easy to read and follow and the results were very good.

I was worried that I may not have some ingredients or that they would be hard to find but not the case.

I can't wait to make more.

Tofu in so many ways! Especially interesting to me are the dessert recipes with tofu. Silken tofu is something I have not worked with before, so excited to try. Nice recipes and photos.

I use a lot of tofu in my cooking, so I was eager to read this new cookbook. This would make a nice addition to your cookbook collection if you are interested in trying some tofu recipes or if you already use it in your kitchen. It has a lot of basic tofu recipes and some unique ones as well. I particularly liked the section on sweets. The recipes are short and easy to read. There are also nice photos throughout the book.

There were a lot of nice recipes in here, quite a few fairly obvious just switching meat for tofu but also a lot of really nice Asian style recipes, a couple of my favourites being the tofu hot n sour soup and the kimchi tofu stew, very tasty!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of book in exchange for an honest review.

This gives you recipes for just about everything you could think of making with tofu!
It starts with a solid into to different types of tofu, how to cut it etc.
It’s divided into sections including starters, sides and small plates, , soups and salads and one-dish meals.
Lots of variety: for example, the sandwiches and more included burgers, burritos and empanadas.
I made the tofu burger. I found the instructions clear and the burgers were very tasty: my only criticism is that the mix was quite wet and it all needed a good squeeze rather than ‘drain if necessary.’
Lots of inspiration here for the tofu enthusiast!

I have been a tofu eater and a lover all my life, although it has always been pretty much same old types - stir-fried or in the soup.

This book introduced a whole lot of new ways to play with tofu and none of the recipes should overwhelm anyone who want to learn to cook with tofu or branch out. All of the recipes in the Twist on Tofu use simple ingredients, easy to follow, straightforward, and are creative ideas. They don't take long to make, so it fits the bill for weeknight meals and outcomes are pretty delectable. However, not all recipes come with a photo, so if you are a visual person, you will have to use your imagination :-) I have made Tofu Katsu, Tofu Bibimbap, Tofu Buffalo Wings, and Tofu Vegetable Curry. They turned out all very yummy and easy to make!

Overall Twist on Tofu offers something for everyone and every level of cooking level of ability and roots. If you are new at tofu or a tofu lover and would like to venture out, give this book a try. You won't regret it!

I love tofu but my go to is extra firm when cooking. While this book has plenty of recipes using firm, it also has many using other types such as silken so this is going to further my tofu education. The recipes sound delicious and there are plenty of beautiful photos. They also sound uncomplicated to make which is essential in my opinion. Can’t wait to try many of these. One note… not all the recipes are vegan, some call for eggs but it should be easy to swap out for a vegan option.

This recipe book had lots of great ideas but you did need to have a lot of ingredients which may not be readily available at the supermarket.

Overall, a nice easy visual read with lots of fresh pictures.

Thank you for the arc.

As an Asian myself, I eat tofu daily since we are little. I can't get enough of it. I love tofu, I made it myself from scratch. But sometimes I ran out of ideas to prepare it. This cookbook is handy to have when you eat tofu regularly, it inspires you to eat more tofu or discover what tofu can do to your tastebuds. Well done Corinne!

I always cook tofu in the Asian way ofc, but this cookbook shows me recipes from other roots also. I should give it a try. And making a dessert with tofu is something that I haven't explored. I want to try it. Give it a try and you will discover the realm of tofu :)

Thank you NetGalley and Storey Publishing for the ARC of the book in exchange for an honest review.

As a vegetarian, tofu has become the centre piece of my diet and Twist on Tofu is a great addition to my recipe repertoire. The different cuisine styles allow for great diversity of choice, which is sure to suite a wide range of readers.

The book itself is very nicely sectioned, each chapter is divided by a cover that introduces the section. Moreover, the introductory chapter provides the reader with information that makes you feel more self-confident in your future culinary endeavours. I really appreciated the fact that serves were indicated. Often times, recipe books do not make it obvious for how many people the dish will serve, which results in having too much food or having to cook the meal again.

All in all, a Twist on Tofu is a grade guide to tofu and beginner friendly. I will be recommending the book to all my tofu sceptical friends.

Wow. I love this cookbook! I have been vegetarian for almost fifteen years and found lots of new ways to try preparing tofu. I have been asked many times in my life how to cook tofu at home and next time I get that question I will just recommend this book. I especially appreciate that most if not all of the recipes are made with really simple ingredients. I find that so many vegetarian cook books have ingredients lists that are full of unfamiliar, expensive ingredients. This book keeps it simple while also sharing a diverse collection of recipes. Love it.

In August of 2020, after years of a reoccurring health concern and yet another trip to the ER, my triage nurse said "Maybe your system just cannot process animals very well." Like many humans surviving on the SAD (Standard American Diet) I asked the go to question, "If you do not eat animal products, where do you get your protein?" Her response, "the same place gorillas, elephants, and hippos get it." This conversation changed my and my husbands life and created a need to relearn how to prepare and eat food.

Tofu is not a food that either of us grew up being introduced to and we were those people that made the 'ew' face when it came to this weird looking thing masquerading as food.

Tofu is now a primary staple in our food plan, the problem is we have no idea how to work with it! We have attempted a few things, but mostly end up getting take out from pros that know what they are doing. Corinne Trang's Twist on Tofu has taken this amazing medium and made it accessible and doable to the home cook that may not have as much exposure to this versatile ingredient. This is a cookbook that I will be using over and over again!
