What an amazing guide to detoxing your home and life! As a person who appreciates clean products and lfiestyle, I was ecstatic to read a book like this. It lays out how to detox your home very simply, in an easy to udnerstand manner. Not only that, but I really loved that it went toom by room and listed the top ten offenders for each room. This method of laying everything out was perfect because it wasn't too overwhelming and made it that much easier to understand how I could detox my home. I lvoed that the author took the time to also explain each term, as many people may not know what each chemical is, what it does and why it is bad for human health, as well as what we can do about it. It's refreshing to read a book like this, espeically this day and age, as our world is being bombarded by chemicals and I, as well as others, want to know how to reduce our exposure and make our lives healthier. I also love that the author included recipes for her favorite cleaning solutions. What a fantastic home detox guide!

This book is fantastic! It simplifies the detox process so that anyone can do it! I love that she includes all of her cleaning recipes and they are all natural and frugal options that are good for our health. They are also simple with few ingredients that are reused in other recipes. The author identifies the most toxic items in each room and how the reader can make healthier options, then goes step by step in the cleaning detox of each space. This one on my favorite books on the subject because of how much she simplifies the process, while still including a lot of informative info to help educate the reader.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC! I liked the home recipes and callouts throughout the book. Not all of the actual cleaning advice seemed feasible and I do wish the author had made mention of advice for when you cannot make major changes and if there were any "better but not perfect" solutions to detox instead. Otherwise, this was a quick, but fairly informative read.

This is a very informative book. I've already begun transforming my home into a toxin free place as much as I can. This book really helped with that. Ms. Chace gives a lot of tips and information for detoxing an area and even recipes for making your own cleaning products.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Storey Publishing for giving me access to an ARC of this book.

This is a very comprehensive guide to understanding and eliminating toxins from your home. Each room is covered in detail as to what they likely are, where they specifically exist, and great alternatives are given to start replacing ones you currently use and are concerned about. Recipes for creating a chemical free cleaning caddy, and options for homemade body products are cost effective and straightforward. What I liked the best is the list of the potential "Toxic Ten" which is listed for each room of the house. An extensive glossary of chemicals is given and where they are most often found is great for reference. Obviously one can get overwhelmed with this topic, but this is a great addition for those who want to reduce their exposure to toxins we usually unbeknownst to ourselves live with. Would definitely add my cleaning/organizing and living minimally book collection.

This was so pleased to be given an advance copy of this book. I seem to have more adverse reactions these days to household products. This covers every room in the house and gives great ideas of better products to use.

Daniella Chace, a toxicology clinician, takes us through a simple program to remove toxins from our homes. Research shows that we are more exposed to toxins in our home than we are outside.
The home detox program offers actionable steps that have the greatest positive impact on the health of Chace's clients through the years.

The first step in removing toxins is locating them, which is the heart of the program. This is a method for removing toxins and a path towards a nontoxic lifestyle. Chace's wish is that we will feel the joy and power that comes with taking control and making changes that improve our wellbeing. As we learn more about how toxins interfere with health, this cause-and-effect relationship becomes very clear.

The book is written in a very organized and systematic way with recipes for simple, natural cleaning solutions that effectively remove grease, grime, and harmful particulates. First, we learn the top ten toxins in each room. Then target these highly toxic items and decide to remove, replace, or modify them. Some of these items can be recycled or tossed out, while others will need to be replaced. And when we’re shopping for a household product, read the labels. Consider all options. Ask yourself: Is this product necessary? Do I know what its ingredients are? Are they safe to have in my home? If you can’t answer yes to all of these criteria, don’t buy it.

Soon, we will be able to feel the benefits of living a non-toxic life.

A very practical guide for every household.

Thank you #NetGalley for an arc of 'The Home Detox Method'.

The ultimate non-toxic cleaning & home-keeping handbook for creating a healthier, safer home. In other hands, the information in this book could been overwhelming and impractical, but Danielle Chance's organized and educational approach makes creating a healthy living space attainable. This book guides the reader step-by-step, room-by-room, with helpful lists and graphics that provide a methodical action plan, More than a how-to-book, this is a how-and-why-to book that connects our home environment to our health, with detailed instruction and gentle encouragement.

In recent years I have been definitely more aware of the harmful effects of chemicals and toxins in my everyday life. I found this home detox method to be quite helpful in my personal life. I am also a housekeeper so cleaning is also kind of my thing. One thing that was interesting was the mention of microfiber cloths. I actually really like microfiber and have used microfiber a lot in my cleaning. So I was a little shocked when I saw it being put on blast in the book. I will have to look more into it. I really loved all the recipes for the healthy chemical-free alternative to common household chemicals that I plan on making in the near future. It's quite shocking really the number of toxins that we have let into our homes and the amount of trust we put into money-making companies that don't really care about the consumer. I loved this book as a guide for me to at least cut down some waste and toxins from my home. Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for an ARC for my honest opinion.

Did you know that we are exposed to more toxins inside than we are outside? Daniella Chance, a toxicology clinician, states that while tracking down the triggers of disease, she’s found that most of them are inside our own homes. Toxins are everywhere. It’s in our clothes, toys, pots, pans, skincare, perfumes, and more. There are more than 30 toxins present in common household products, isn’t that crazy?! Chance has helped many of her clients successfully identify toxins and remove them from their homes. She states that they have each noticed huge improvements in their health and symptoms afterwards.

The Home Detox Method offers a room-by-room guide for healthy, natural, and cost-effective replacements for toxic products in our household. Along with this, Chance also provides natural recipes for creating your own non-toxic cleaning products. What I love about these alternatives is that they’re all eco-friendly and sustainable options. Besides the helpful information, I appreciated the beautiful visuals in this book. They serve as inspiration to create a safe and healthy home that’s good for us and for the planet. Thank you to NetGalley and Storey Publishing for this advanced reading copy (eARC) in exchange for my honest review.
