I really wanted to like this one but sadly, it was not my cup of tea. I usually like webnovels but it reminded me of Mushoku Tensei in a really uncomfortable way. Not recommended

In parts I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. I could do without the fan-service, but I guess that's pretty standard at this point. It'll be interesting to see how this progresses.

Belamus was formerly a powerful sage. Because of his expertise, he cast a spell to reincarnate his spirit. The only problem is that nothing goes as planned. Belamus was born with all his memories, but his father abandoned him in the woods as a newborn. That may have been the end of the story if he hadn't been taken in by a compassionate Goblin family.
Orcs arrive in the community one day and declare that they are taking control. Belamus, unfortunately for their commander, beats him and becomes their leader. Their lives are changing, and they must all make decisions.

There are some amusing scenes involving both goblins and orcs. Its fun getting to watch them solve different issues. There are some serious pacing issues and an annoying character or two. But overall this was an enjoyable start to a new manga series in an increasingly popular trope (reincarnation).

I really enjoyed this graphic novel and can't wait to continue the series!

Great fantasy manga! Love the lore behind the MCs the magic system although being very simple is super entertaining, love the drawing and the RPG aspect of it as "evolution" by eating certain things. how poison water on poison fruit cuts the poison. Really enjoy it and can't wait for the next one

Yep! It's another reincarnation tale, which I can't get enough of. I'm going to blame My Next Life as a Villainess for that one. The Abandoned Reincarnation Sage Volume 1 is the latest in a long line of manga with this trend.

Once upon a time (actually, not that long ago), Belamus was a revered sage with great power. So excellent were his skills that he decided to cast a spell, one that would force his spirit to reincarnate. Only, things don't go quite as planned.

While Belamus was born with all his memories, he was powerless to stop his father from abandoning his newborn form in the middle of the woods. That could have been the end of the story had a kind Goblin family not taken him in.

Hrm. On the one hand, I like this concept. On the other hand, I didn't enjoy The Abandoned Reincarnation Sage Volume 1 as much as I had hoped. Part of the problem is the pacing. We didn't get to know Belamus before he died and was reincarnated. Likewise, we don't really get to know him until he's around five, at which point we're already seeing everything that makes him unique.

The result is a shallow connection to his character, at least initially. Maybe further volumes would help grow this connection; I'm not sure. What I do know is that it did have some funny moments, which helped to carry it along.

Another bright side to The Abandoned Reincarnation Sage Volume 1 is the artwork. It's colorful and highly detailed, meaning that there is more than enough to keep the eyes busy as you work your way through it.

Reincarnation is becoming/has become a popular sub-genre in manga and I admit, I love it as well. There are some truly amazing titles out there, but also some that are not so good as well.

This, thankfully, is one of the better ones, which I heartily recommend if you are tired of the female protag with a reverse harem/villainess/is the Best. Cook. EVAAAAARRR (sorry, I'm bitter I'm not better in the kitchen, so when I see that the MC h is all that, a bag of chips, the One to Save the World AND a good cook? I get sad.) tropes.

Not that those are bad tropes, but this was a nice palette cleanse for me. I liked the art, I liked the storyline and I liked the MC and his found family. (I'm a sucker for the found family trope, not gonna lie.)

I'm waffling between four and five stars, I wish half stars were an option, because this would be an easy 4.5 for me.

I'm going to round up, 5 stars it is! Definitely one I will be seeking the future volumes of and one I recommend whole-heartedly.

It was a nice story, but I see to many commun point with Me reincarnated as a slime, even if it's not an isekai. So it was fun, but it push its luck too far.

I *almost* skipped reading this because the cover is just kind of meh and I wasn't super pumped about this great sage (or wizard, basically) being reincarnated, but I *DO* love goblins, sooo....
BOY, am I glad I picked it up! Belamus can be sort of a stick in the mud, but I really love his goblin village. The world-building is so fun, and it has some very video game/MMORPG type fantasy elements, like certain races of monster needing to eat a certain food in order to "evolve," or basically level up to a stronger monster race.

And yeah, it's full of pretty standard isekai tropes, like Bellamus is super OP, but at the same time it's sort of not an isekai because he's been reincarnated in the SAME world he occupied before (er, I think...?) and not a new one. I liked this way more than I expected to. It's a fun romp, and I fully intent to pick up volume 2!

The Abandoned Reincarnation Sage, Volume 1, written by Miraijin A and drawn by Kurikaramaru is a manga style graphic novel. Belamus was once a great sage with the power of reincarnation...but as all lives must pass, so did his. He reincarnated with his memories, but was suddenly abandoned as a newborn child! Luckily for him, he was adopted by the nearby goblin tribe, but this moment of kindness may mean more for both the Goblins and Belamus than either of them know!

The Abandoned Reincarnation Sage is a charming and well drawn story. I enjoyed the world and character building and thought everything moved at a good pace. I have read a few other reincarnation manga, and I thought that this did a good job with the trope. I liked the village and the collection of characters in it. The growing understanding in Belamus of the similarities of all intelligent creatures is pretty subtle, but the point bis likely to be more obvious as the story continues in future volumes. It was a fun and interesting read, which I enjoyed. I feel like there are many options as to where the story can go next and am interested to see which paths the plot takes us.

Belamus was abandoned as a baby, lack of talent, then goblins found and raised him. One day Orcs come to the village stating they are taking it over. Unfortunately for their leader, Belamus defeats him and becomes their boss. Now their lives are changing and they all have decisions to make.

There are some funny moments with both the goblins and orcs. I like that with each problem that arises we see how they solve it and not just jump to oh it's solved, leaving us with no idea how. The art is detailed from the characters to the background, although I'm still not sure how the orcs can distinguish the difference between genders.

It's not exactly like but kinda reminds me of reincarnated as a slime where all different species cohabitate in a town. For me, I enjoyed reading it and am interested to see how it progresses.

There is a whole page that would make Alex Louis Armstrong proud.

The world building could definitely use some refining, I'm struggling to understand how or what evolution is in context to this world.

This book is consistently heartwarmingly adorable. Especially in regards to Belamus' relationship with his mother and sister.

I do have some strong ick feelings on the sexualization of characters like Belamus' sister (who is 7!) when they
Goblin's "evolve". (Why does she have boobs? Like SERIOUSLY?!)

Which makes me feel bad for getting giggles out of Balmus' being a smol child, and having a normal conversation for a grown man.

While I honestly loved this book, SO MUCH. I am not sure I will continue on as I'm not really that interested in the foreshadowed conflict (rivalry?). So I'm not sure I will pick up the next book.

Abandoned at birth in his latest incarnation, Belamus is adopted into a goblin tribe where fights with other tribes fuel Belamus' desire to create and run a new city.

This one had a unique premise and I was excited to request it.

I really like this kind of story that has a mix of adventure, action and other typical shonen elements while being a story that adults too would really enjoy with a lot of seinen elements.

The characters are interesting and I expect we will follow Belamus' journey as he grows older while working towards his goal which I'm anticipating. The idea of planning a new city is fascinating to me and the author does a good job of interesting readers with a unique setting, societal structures and cultures.

I'll definitely be continuing this!

I didn’t care for this story. I found the story really boring and had to make myself finish it. I wasn’t crazy about the artwork. I found this a very blah graphic novel. Nothing really special enough to hold my interest.

First want to thank Netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this in exchange for an honest review! When I saw this manga I wasn't too sure if I wanted to request it or not. I don't usually pick these types out for myself but I decided to branch out and oh boy did it not disappoint! I honestly loved every second of it. It is cute, funny, and adventurous! If you like mages, orcs, and goblins you will like this!

I did take off .5 points from characters because the sister annoyed me a bit, but loved the element she added to the story. Also took off the point for the bonus story they had at the end. It was nice for Miraijin to include but to come from a manga version to full on ebook all words was a throw off.

Other than that I super recommend this manga!

Beautiful art with super cute characters, however it does give the whole thing a cutesy air even when it comes to the orcs etc

Big Reincarnated As A Slime vibes, however when it comes to this new series I just wasn’t hooked into it. I wasn’t that interested in the characters or the plot and found my attention wandering. While there is a point of interest towards the end, it’s not enough to have me pick up the next volume.

I wasn't a big fan of this one. It feels very similar to That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, but was not executed nearly as well. The artwork made everyone seem very childish, including the adult goblins. Will not continue with the next volume.

This was a cute story. Some of the parts were difficult to read and/or know what was going on but you could get the jist of it! I will be excited to read the next one though because Eli feel like this one left off so abruptly.
