A steamy romance with an endearing storyline. Jade and Maverick's story is probably my favorite of the series…. is an author to know. Just when you think you understand the motives behind the characters and the way their story lines are being presented—bam!—It will hit you again.
Plot: After she loses her business and finds out her boyfriend has been cheating on her, Jade decides to move to Montana to be near her best friend Cybil and have a fresh start. She meets Maverick who knows what he wants in life and falling for Jade isnt on the agenda.
Review: This book is the 3rd one in a series but can be read as a stand alone novel. Although i haven't read the other books in the series I still enjoyed this book and found it easy to understand and follow the characters involved. It was an enjoyable read and well written. I loved the storyline and would recommend it to anyone wanting an easy going and relaxing read.
Overall, this was a cute, quick read. Depth wise though it was pretty mediocre. I thought the author started off strong with a sweet interaction between Maverick and Jade and establishing the characters. However, afterwards everything seemed to move pretty fast and remained pretty surface-level. There was minimal development in the characters themselves and their relationship and even the arguments were insubstantial.
I did really enjoy the friendships that were interwoven throughout the book. I haven't read the previous two books, so all of the characters were new to me. But I think the author did a good job showing how important the relationships were to each other and how much of a close-knit family they all were.
I thought the epilogue at the end was a little much. I would have preferred just jumping forward to one time instead of trying to show three different life moments. It just felt rushed trying to pack it all in.
If you're looking for a cute, fluff romance then this would definitely be a great book to pick up.
Reckless is the third book in the Adventures In Love series by Aurora Rose Reynolds. It follows Jade, a woman from Oregon who just moved to Montana to be closer to her best friend after everything in her life turned upside down.
I really loved the romance between Jade and Maverick. Maverick was my favorite type of hero, he knew what he wanted and he went after it. I also loved the way he treated Jade. Maverick definitely isn’t one of those a-hole men that don’t treat their women right.
I also liked how developed all of the friendships are. I haven’t read the first two books in the series but I’ll be sure to check them out now that I’ve read this one!
If you’re looking for an easy, quick romance with minimal drama and something that will make your heart happy, then be sure to check out this book!
I think I read a different book from everyone else. I didn’t have a good impression of Jade from the start. And sadly, I didn’t grow to like her as the story developed. I wanted her to have more gumption and grit and sass. Instead I got more of a doormat/pushover kind of vibe from her.
Maverick (for all the intensity he showed in the past two books) was not the endearingly intense alpha I thought he’d bell either. Yes he seems hot. But dang, his actions made me question his smarts. Especially towards the back half of the book.
Sorry to any fans. This story just wasn’t my cup of tea.
The beginning started out promising and strong, but kind of fizzled out towards the middle and end. There were some awkward sentences and a lot of “she had had …. “ where it would be clearer and easier reading wise to remove. I felt like they got together too fast and then it was just sex and confusion and not enough space I between all of it. We lost out on the building of their actual relationship with all the cuts between scenes and never got to truly see them grow. The epilogue was also very long and cut to too many things.
I have sincerely enjoyed Aurora Rose Reynolds' books. And when I read her older ones, I knew they would be a little more alpha male ridiculousness, which can be fun when I'm in the mood for that! She does the Insta-Love trope better than most. Book 1 of this series was a delight, and the covers of this series are absolutely beautiful. I've been looking forward to the other books in this series, and plan to read book 2 when it comes out in May through Kindle Unlimited! The beginning of Reckless was the perfect setup. I was so curious about Maverick and how this would all play out. Cybil is a little lost and I couldn't wait to see her find herself. Unfortunately, there was a lot of Cybil saying "No" and Maverick doing it anyway is almost every interaction. Just big boundary and consent issues for me. One part in particular went too far (and not even in a sexual way), and I just couldn't get on board with how Maverick was acting. I'm super sad about it, because I feel like this had so much potential. I think if readers go in knowing this they may have a better experience with the story and enjoy it!
I have loved this series so very much and the author didn’t disappoint with this one either. Mav and Jade were a captivating story, I couldn’t put the book down. Yet again the author has a way with words that make you wanna keep reading. From the insane chemistry to background story of Mav and Jade. Just amazing!!
I went into Reckless with low expectations, which turned out to be a good thing. While all in all, this is a pretty good story; it was the romance that ultimately left me disappointed in the book. While I liked reading Jade's POV, I also enjoyed Maverick's POV quite a lot and hated that we got to see so less for him. Jade was a wonderful character individually and so was Maverick. From the synopsis, I thought it would be more of a slowburn tale, but the romance between the two leads developed quite fast.
I would have loved to see more scenes of them just being friends and a slower buildup to their attraction for each other. Unfortunately, due to the relatively fast development, I could not see much chemistry between Jade and Maverick. While I enjoyed their *spicy* scenes, I feel like I would have enjoyed this more if (again), there was more development to their friendship and then relationship.
While I may not have enjoyed this, I think Reckless is a book that other people will love and enjoy, for it is a lighthearted fun read, once that will leave you smiling.
Reckless by Aurora Rose Reynolds is the third book in the Adventures in Love Series and this is Jade and Maverick‘s story.
Jade's life recently went downhill and now she starts over and moves to the small Montana town where her best friend Cybil lives. She is a booklover and that was totally relatable and she is a great protagonist.
Maverick is such a good man and kind of falls first in this story and I could feel his love for Jade from the beginning. At the same time he has some childhood trauma and needs to figure out what he wants from a relationship.
On the way to Montana, Jade gets in the middle of a snow storm and Maverick helps her and that is what initiates their romance. But at first they establish a friendly basis and spent more and more time with each other and those were my favorite scenes. I also adored the scenes with their animals and it was lovely to see the characters from the previous books. Only the end came too fast and I didn’t want this story to end.
Overall, Reckless is a great addition to the Adventures in Love Series and I loved the protagonists and especially Jade in this one. 4 stars.

After reading the first two books in the series I was excited to finally get Maverick's book to finally find out everything about him but I honestly didn't learn a thing. I did really enjoy the first half the book but I felt like it drops off for the last half and is rushed. The break up and get back together so quickly and the conflict issue is pretty huge so you think they would at least have an in depth conversation about it.
I also missed reading about the guy's business, it was one of the reasons why I was enjoying the series so much so I would have liked a little bit of it included in this third bool after it being so heavy featured in the first two.
I also don't understand why such a big thing is included so briefly in the epilogue, she carries her friends baby for her and it's written like nothing is really happening.
I just would have liked a few things to be expanded on personally.
RECKLESS is the third book in the "Adventures in Love" series and it was probably my favourite so far. Aurora Rose Reynolds is a pro at writing feel-good romance that grips you from the very first page and keeps you hooked right until the very last. I am so glad she paired up Maverick and Jade and it was so great to see them give in to the attraction that was so strong between them. I loved the build-up to their relationship and just having those sweet moments between them as they got to know each other better.
Love this author, have been following her for years and reading everything. It was a super fun and easy to read book. Would 100% recommend it to a friend.
I love Ms. Reynolds, I once again was sucked in once I started this book. Her writing just flows and then the next thing I know its 1am in the morning and I am finished. This is a great series with all the friends of Tanner and Cybil's. In this book Maverick, Tanner's partner and friend and then Cybil's best friend from home get there book. They were a great couple who just clicked, both have past issues with life and relationships so trusting and having faith in other people is hard for both. Cybil is trying to rebuild her life after some bad choices in life and then there is also men who helped her lose everything. So when she comes to Montana to start over she never expects Maverick to be there for her. Maverick is a good person just damaged from the past. He never knew what he was missing until Jade, question is can Maverick get out of his head long enough no to lose what he found in Jade. Great book!
Honest review in exchange for ARC.
I've really enjoyed this trip to a very small town in Montana with Aurora Rose Reynolds. The close knit group of friends and family never disappoints. The book is written in classic Aurora Rose Reynolds style with an alpha hero and an independent heroine.
Jade has appeared in earlier books as Cybil's best friend. Since that time - so much has happened. Jade's life and business in Oregon has imploded - shaking her confidence and leaving her adrift. Jade moves to Montana to restart and figure herself out. Maverick comes to her rescue in a blizzard and they connect in a major way. Even though they had met before - getting to know each other makes the sparks fly quickly. Maverick has been the most standoffish of all the friends. He's quiet and keeps himself apart from them. He also definitely isn't interested in marriage or kids because of his early years being abandoned by his mom and estranged from his dad. That doesn't stop things from getting serious pretty quickly tho.
I will say - this book did leave me with some questions. I wasn't expecting Maverick to end up with Jade. The other books had led me in another direction - and I am not sure we get the answers we were looking for as to why Maverick separated himself away from his friends - and why he seemed to very much need total alone time. His backstory filled in some of those gaps - but definitely wasn't what I thought it would be. I give this one a solid3.5 stars. I just wanted Maverick to be a better character I guess - and maybe a little less emotionally stunted.
I am hopeful we'll see more of this small town - because there seemed to be a lot of stories left to tell!
I received this as an ARC via NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.
An easy, tension free read where the characters fall for each other quickly and there is little drama, While that can be refreshing there wasn't a lot to keep me interested either. Jade moves to Montana to be near her bestie after experiencing some major life set-back. She starts spending time with hot but taciturn Maverick and although at first she thinks she is the only one with feeling the two are soon quietly dating. This was a nice, breezy read but did not meet the high expectations I had after loving the previous book in this series.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I just loved Maverick & Jade!!! Now I am noticing that this is the third book in the Adventures in Love Series.. I think I need to go back and read the first two.. LOL With any and all of ARR's books I dove right in and didn't look back.. Both Jade and Maverick have been hurt, both dealing with the past.. can they find a future together? Thank you Aurora for the amazing read!!
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
I read the 1st book in this series, but haven’t read the 2nd one yet, but that didn’t affect my enjoyment of this book.
Aurora Rose Reynolds is a go to author for me, so I really enjoyed this one. Her characters always feel like friends and I get absorbed into the story. I definitely need to read the 2nd one now, such a good series, lots of funny moments, some sad moments, light drama, but nothing over the top. I would highly recommend this book.
Let me start by saying that this series has the best covers of the year, hands down. Now, insta love isn’t my favorite thing but it’s fun to switch up the tropes I read every once in a while. I know what to expect when it comes to ARR’s books. They’re always sweet and spicy, and then of course, there’s the groveling I know and love. I really enjoyed this book.
I really enjoyed this series and the latest addition was very entertaining. Jade and Maverick are easy characters to,like, they have a chemistry and a friendship that builds over time and their story develops a good pace.
