Listen...I really wanted to like this book. The premise was cute, but the execution was questionable.
I have a deep loathing for people who are always late, so my first impression of Sophie was already off to a bad start. I did find some grammar/spelling errors, and the dialogue in general was a bit choppy. I also would have liked some more character descriptions, as it was hard for my mind to create images of them. I found the characters to be too dramatic and vague.
Some positive aspects: Seb always corrected people when they referred to women as "girls", and Sophie's character grew on me.
Overall, very meh.

Loved it! Summery and fun - the characters were really likeable and I genuinely enjoyed reading this book. However, I can’t really understand why it’s on NetGalley because it’s already been on Amazon kindle books for a while and the second in the series is already available to read?

Delightfully charming!

I was hooked from the very beginning and did not put it down until I finished! The added element of mystery was pleasantly surprising. I didn’t feel as if this book was like every other sports romance. There is something unique the author brings that makes this book the perfect romcom when you just want to smile!

I will say, if there was one more “baby” from Seb I might have lost my mind. But aside from that he was a great hero for Sophie!

I received a copy of Truth or Tequila via NetGalley for reviewing purposes.

As I was browsing through NetGalley I saw the title and thought, “Ok, this should be funny.” There were a few chuckles but nothing super funny. Truth or tequila is a game Sophie and her friends play and they played once in the beginning and then again at the end.

My big issue is I don’t like Seb. He’s played up to be the perfect guy but he’s overprotective to the point I think it’s smothering. As soon as Sophie and him take it to the next level he constantly calls her baby which makes me cringe and jumps down anyone who says something off. While I can appreciate him sticking up for her I think it’s overboard to threaten harm.

I was hoping for something with a little more humor- a story line more along with the game which the book was named after.

The synopsis of the book really had me including the title who doesn’t love tequila? Certainly not me! A cute Rom-Com with Seb a baseball player and Sophia who doesn’t take anyones crap. From their first meeting of her not knowing him to their last moment in the book I loved it! Of course the drama of what happens in it too as Sophia sorts out PR related issues the people she works for are not so great, Gary and Gentry. I felt the situation between them was vague and rushed which is why I’ve rated the book as I have. It was an engaging book where I didn’t feel bored and would recommend to anyone looking to read a sports rom-com. Also as a first book that I’ve read by the author I will definitely continue with this series as it does still have me wanting to read if certain things happen next.

I enjoyed this book. While I didn’t LOVE it, I wouldn’t say that not loving this book would keep me from reading any others from the author.

The conflict in the book could have been easily avoided with some communication fixes, however, I find this to be an extremely common trope in most romances so it wasn’t necessarily a detriment to the story.

I enjoyed Seb and Sophie as separate people, but didn’t really feel the most spark between the two of them like I wanted to. I think Seb was protective (maybe to a fault because of his insta-love/lust) and Sophie had some depth to her that was endearing.

All in all, not my favorite, but a quick and easy read if you like insta-love and rush romance! Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC!

I couldn’t stop reading this! I am so glad this was my first read with NetGalley because I was not disappointed. I love a good light hearted story but I also am a sucker for a sports romance! The book had short chapters and I like that it was told in alternative chapter between Shopie and Seb. I wish I had more of a wrap up I feel like a lot was skipped in the relationship at the end but overall I still enjoyed the read!

This book is a one sitting read type of book that you can bring with you on vacation or the beach. While reading it I felt like I was immersed with what was going on within the story and never got lost or bored. The characters were fun to read - Sophia a very strong female character and Seb a very strong male character. There were some swoon worthy parts which is the best part of any rom-com read. Overall an easy going and enjoyable read.

This book was rad thanks to NetGalley, even if their publishing date was August-02-2021.

This is a nice romance book to read on a sunday, it has funny moments, tender moments, everything well balanced, and packed a book. It has its issues but it's how the character are written.

This story starts with an embarrassing game and guess what is the name of this game🤭 Truth or Tequila.
Sophie is a strong-willed and very professional woman and she speaks her mind and the other hand professional baseball player Sebastian a.k.a Seb and very handsome greek god😍💕.

Seb fell in love with Sophie the first time he saw her at the bar he knows then that she was the one for him. 💕 and I love him so much he's so sweet, caring and protective character😍 well he is domineering sometimes but I like it😜😅.

This book has both Seb and Sophie's p.o.v and the plot and storyline are good I finished this book in one go seriously I couldn't put it down.

I love Seb and Sophie both they are good together💕 and I like the friendship Sophie has with her friends and their bond and how protective they were toward Sophie🌸.

I'll definitely play this game with my friends for sure🤭😜. I like the idea of this game seriously it's new and it's a new version of truth or dare..

If you just read the first few chapters of this book, you'd think you're heading in for some kind of summer fun, frivolous crisis manager/baseball player romance. And, for all the best reasons, you'd be wrong. This book does have that aspect to it (I absolutely loved watching Sophie and Seb fall in love) but it also deals with issues of misogyny and sexual harassment within Seb's baseball team. I personally think that Donna Schwartze wrote Sophie brilliantly, making her strong enough that we believe she would tackle these issues she comes across while remaining accessible. I really really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more from this author!

This is my first book by this author. I wanted to love this book much more than I did. I loved the premise, adored the characters, respected the intent to tackle sexism in the workplace. Add a little bit of forbidden love and I’m your girl. But the pacing of the plot was just off to me. The beginning was almost too drawn out, and then suddenly it’s like everything happened all at once. Ultimately, it was engaging enough that I’ll probably check out more books by this author at some point, but I’m not rushing out to find more.,

The following review was posted to Goodreads on April 20, 2022.

This book started off so strong. The main female character is a strong, independent woman who seems to keep bumping into Seb, a baseball king! I love the dual perspectives. I did enjoy the insta-love trope except I felt their love story was rushed. The characters were underdeveloped and their chemistry seemed to be rushed. The story is great but could have expanded.

This book is short, but a lot of fun. I will definitely be reading the second book by Donna! Just a lot of fun!

I received this title as an ARC via netgalley by Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op. I voluntarily read this title and this review is my honest opinion.

This was a really quick, easy to read romcom that I couldn't put down. I loved Seb and Sophie but I would've liked a little more character development. There was a lot of great dialogue and banter between the two but not a lot of substance. It read more like a novella than a novel but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

The book was a quick read for me, having read it in a single evening. Most romance books have a predictable structure they follow; first they fight feelings for a long time, then they tentatively try things out. There usually is a small problem that pops up but they get over it. Then another bigger obstacle happens that is make it or break it. It can be a bit of a drawn out process. This book was a quicker read because it cut out some of that predictable plot. While I say that, I appreciated it very much. The series of events and language seemed more realistic and I enjoyed that.

This was an easy and cute read. I enjoyed the alternating pov of Sophie and Seb. It fell flat at times, but was still enjoyable.

Thank you to NetGalley, Donna Schwartze, and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the ARC.

This was a super sweet sports romance that follows Sophie and Seb. Sophie is a strong-willed woman who runs her own PR company and works with the elite of Miami. Seb is a prestigious baseball player whom everyone knows and believes is the biggest jerk in sports, that is, except Sophie who knows nothing about him. Sophie and Seb meet one drunken night at a bar while Sophie is at her best friend's bachelorette party. The next morning, with the hangover from hell, Sophie discovers she was just hired to help Seb's baseball team with the bad publicity they are receiving.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The novel alternates chapters between Sophie and Seb, which I love because I like being in the minds of both characters as they fall in love. I loved seeing Seb know from the beginning that he wanted to pursue Sophie, but he was patient and did not push her into going out with him. From the beginning he was very protective of her, but he knew how to hear the word "no". It was so refreshing to see a male character so desperately in love with someone but be equally respectful of her wishes. I also really enjoyed that this book stayed light-hearted, for the most part. There is a bit of a blackmail situation involving sexual misconduct allegations from someone affiliated with the team, but for the most part this story was just about two people who met, fell in love, and found their happily ever after.

This was a cute book. I didn’t really feel like I had enough time to get to know and connect with the characters but it was a quick read. Not sure how I feel about it being a series but if we learn more about these characters it might be good. If it’s another couple and written the same way then it would probably be another 3/5 stars.

I didn't love this one! I really wanted to - but the comedy elements fell a bit flat for me. I'd definitely try another book by this author in the future, though!

Couldn't put this down. A great romcom and fast read. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series.
