This book is exactly the type of book many look for in finance - added bonus that it is targeted towards woman. Some topics dive in depth and can get confusing. I appreciated the the in-depth and while confusing it provided an outlet to think and a list of more to research and think about.

First, my disclaimer. As someone in the industry, I "know" the co-authors (and most of those listed in the acknowledgements) from a distance.

I read a lot of books about personal financial topics. I am impressed by this guide for women in or near retirement. While it is not light reading, it should be a great resource for the target demographic. It covers various topics like dealing with transitions, Medicare, Social Security, annuities, long-term care, reverse mortgages, estate planning, and spending the money you've saved. There's a lot of detail and some references to other experts in specific areas. They handled each topic fairly (as there are opposing opinions about so much of them.) I thought the withdrawal method they describe will seem overly complicated to most, but it is something you can find variations on through various financial planners who specialize in retirement spending methods.
