Chloe Liese is a master with words. The Bergman crew is my all time favorite serious and Oliver and Gavin's story was just as perfect as everyone before. The neurodivergent representation as well as the LGBTQ+ representation is beautifully articulated. Like all of Chloe's books this book will make you swoon, make you feel seen, all with the right dose of steam! Add to your TBR list asap!

Oliver was excited that his idol, Gavin Hayes, joined his professional soccer team. His dreams of being friendly teammates with Gavin went out the door as soon as they met because it was clear that Gavin hated him. Two years after Gavin started the team, their coach decides to make Gavin share the captain position with Oliver. Their very different personalities and different leadership styles causes all kinds of tension between the two. That tension slowly begins to turn into a different type of tension, one that will heat things up between the two co-captains.

I was super excited to jump into Oliver's story because of the queer romance representation! I really loved Oliver and Gavin together - they were the quintessential grumpy/sunshine coupling. Add the fact that there was a nearly ten year age gap between the two - I AM HERE FOR IT!

As I read each book in this series, I think "Ok, this is my favorite Bergman", but this one might stick. There is so much to love about Oliver. He was a ray of sunshine, wearing bright colors to match his vibrant personality. I loved his optimism and his obsession with dancing and musicals - it made me feel pure glee to read about him dancing around, singing, and enjoying musicals like I do. Underneath that fun exterior there was a some emotional baggage from his previous relationship that Oliver has to work through. I am glad that in the end, he was able to get over his fears about starting another relationship.

And of course, Gavin, the grump, was more complex than what is on the surface. He was too focused on his career because he thought it was all he had. But when he began to show his softer side, like when he was comforting Oliver or when he was interacting with Oliver's niece, it melted my heart.

I love the Bergman clan so much and I never want Chloe Liese to stop writing about them. They were fun, supportive, nosy, and they always make me laugh. I loved that they had a whole conversation about Oliver and how his love life compared to romance novels. They were speaking my language.

Steam level: 🔥🔥🔥½
⚠️: queerphobia, anxiety, panic attacks, chronic pain, mention of infidelity & death of a loved one

I’m not sure exactly what it was about this didn’t work for me but it was a like not love situation. Grumpy-sunshine, age gap, enemies to lovers - there’s so much here I normally love but I just wasn’t connected to the MCs or very invested in their relationship. I wanted more of them actually getting to know one another and exploring their relationship before the book was over. Definitely not a bad read, but you know how you can tell when someone primarily writes M/F? Something about this gave off that vibe as well. There were some sweet and funny moments that made it worth the read and I’m sure it will be a lot of peoples’ cups of tea.

I don't know what it is about this series and this fictional family, but I always feel like I'm coming home when I read these books? Chloe promised major Ted Lasso vibes in this book, and she didn't disappoint! Oliver and Gavin had such a great grumpy x sunshine dynamic, and I loved watching them try their hardest to resist their physical attraction to one another. Ollie is such a ray of sunshine - I loved his optimism and cheeriness, and his love for Broadway - who struggles with anxiety, while Gavin was very much a Roy Kent-esque grump, who is struggling to deal with his inevitable retirement from football. I loved seeing the two characters come together and learn to support one another. As always, I love seeing glimpses of the rest of the Bergman clan, and this has plenty! I was so excited to see Linnea, the first Bergman baby, and to see the other couples progress and get married etc. I cannot wait for the next book in the series and to see romance novel-obsessed Viggo finally meet his match!

This is easily the best romance I've read in some time. From page one I was absolutely pulled into Oliver and Gavin's story. The romance is so well developed, the perfect growth from enemies to lovers, the right amount of teasing and withholding, incredibly hot overall, and the best cast of side characters (Mitch + Co. and Linnea, in particular). I feel like a lot of romance books give characters complicated backstories for ~depth, but then ignore them, while this one faced those stories head on, and worked through real character development. I'll definitely read this one multiple times.

<spoiler>
If you didn't die at "I held your hand across a fucking continent, Oliver Bergman. Do with that what you will," I do not trust you as a human being. That is all.

Everything for you is such a wonderful romance and I absolutely ADORED every word of it. This book has a lot of the classic tropes; grummy/sunshine, one bed, enemies to lovers, and so forth. BUT it is don wonderfully. Chloe Liese knows how to write a romance and I will be reading them as long as she writes them.

Chloe Liese never fails to deliver and this book is no exception! It was so refreshing to see a long romance series have LGBT rep and I felt it was seamlessly done. It wasn't made into a huge thing, and was treated like any other romance in the series which I appreciated.

The biggest selling point for me on this book was the grumpy/sunshine dynamic which is one of my favourites and I thought was so good here! Oliver and Gavin were such perfect opposites that complimented each other so well and I loved watching the sparks fly in more ways than one. It is a slightly extreme version of the dynamic but that's my favourite kind and it had me laughing out loud at times.

Of course this is also and "enemies" to lovers as well, and again I loved the execution. Whilst they were never true enemies, watching them argue and drive each other mad was so entertaining when the rest of their perspective is just "I am obsessed with this man". Seeing the cracking of the icy exterior was so rewarding and believable.

Whilst this book is a lot of fun, with a lot of laughs, pranks and silliness, there was also a lot of emotion, as can be expected from Chloe Liese. This book deals with the topics of chronic pain and anxiety, both of which I have experience with. I felt like they were portrayed really accurately, and handled sensitively. Seeing the two men open up to each other about their own struggles and learn to support each other and accept support was so sweet and heartwarming. As much as I wanted to yell at them to just talk and get over themselves, it was really relatable and sweet to watch them grow together.

This is another hit for me, and I highly recommend it for romcom fans! It was fun seeing some of the other characters appear from previous books, especially our new Bergman baby, but it's not necessary to have read the others to enjoy this one!

Ummmmm holy wow did I love the crap out of this book. You get enemies to lovers vibe, grumpy/ sunshine, a one bed situation, and just real life. It was absolutely amazing.

Oliver is such a beautiful soul. I could relate so hard with his struggles. I just wanted to wrap him up in a big hug and be his best friend, and more 😏 obviously.

Gavin, the gorgeous grump is perfection. He had the hard exterior, but then the more you saw of him, he was just full of softness and love. He had me swooning hard with how he interacted with Linnie! And a lot of other times too!

These two together was fire. Seriously, I could not get enough of their interactions and their chemistry and those steamy parts 🥵 hot damn. The tension was built incredibly and did not disappoint one bit.

I also loved getting bits and pieces of all the other Bergmans and their lives. I freaking love this family. I can not wait for more, and I may die doing so 😆

This was an amazing addition to the Bergman books! I loved the slow burn and angst that seems to radiate through the book. And I especially LOVE the dual POV because we really did need inside both heads to get the full effect of the book.

Oliver, I have been waiting for you!

In this story we advance the timeline of the Bergman family a bit and get Oliver's story. We met him initially when he was still a teen and seeing how he has grown is just perfection.

Ollie is just such a fun guy. Bold, smiley, and overall charismatic is his perfect description.

He plays soccer professionally and is at the peak of his game.

His teammate Gavin is at the end.

Gavin's body is aching and done. He has had a beautiful career in soccer and is really struggling with knowing when to say he is done.

Oliver irratates Gavin. For many reasons. One of those being attraction.

Oliver and Gavin are forced to spend some unwanted time together and in so doing may possibly feed off what is mutual attraction.

This male on male age-gap romance gives us EVERYTHING. It wouldn't be a Liese novel if it didn't. I really liked exploring this different veiwpoint as I continue living the Bergman family!

If you loved Red, White and Royal Blue then Everything For You is your next favorite read. For this entire series, Oliver has been one of my favorite of the Bergman’s, and his story did not disappoint. He’s hilarious, warm and gracious. And Gavin is his perfect grumpy match. You’ll find yourself not wanting to leave this book universe - thank god Chloe has more sibilants to write about!!

Chloe Liese always knocks it out of the park. The Bergman siblings all have a place in my heart and I was so happy to finally be reading Oliver's story.
The Grumpy/ Sunshine trope is always a winner in my book and this book was no exception. This book was so much fun to read but was also filled with loads of emotions.

“It’s okay to be scared,” she says. “If you feel ready, if he comes to you, tell him what you’re afraid of. That’s intimacy. Be brave in trusting him with your truth. You got this, Ollie. And remember: you are enough, just as you are... Believe in yourself, in your worth, that you’re enough. Because you are.” Oof my heart.

Actual - 4.25

Another day, another Bergman book review. I love this series so much - every single book is filled with all the tropes, so much heart, a plethora of representation, and the type of welcoming family dynamic everyone should have.

Everything for You is no different. Grumpy/Sunshine, age-gap, and forced proximity are just some of the tropes to look forward to. If read in series order, you'll get some of the best peaks into the lives of the other Bergman's and spouses to date -- but I think this is one of the main reasons this has made it my least favourite of the series so far.

Gavin and Oliver's story starts two years prior to when the book opens. That means, we get no uncomfortable "meet hate", and there's two years of tension that wasn't portrayed on page for us to understand that they are supposed to reaaaaaally not like each other. We're just told to believe it!

With that, we miss out on some deep development between the two of them. They go from hating & close proximity to wanting to be friends with benefits, to head over heels. The progression didn't fit the small amount of development we got. Instead, we're brought along through the lives of the rest of the Bergman clan as the majority of this book is set a couple years post With You Forever (book 4). Again, I love the Berman family so so much, but I think this took away from Oliver and Gavin's potential interactions.

There's some rep I can't speak on since I'm not familiar, but Oliver's lactose intolerance is my lactose intolerance as well. I just don't take lactaids, and if I do, I don't double up based on how much I'm planning on eating. In a perfect world sure, but alas, no perfect world here. Panic attacks don't necessarily have to have a trigger, but Oliver's thought process triggering them for him, is very close to how it is for me as well; stray thoughts can be so incredibly debilitating.

All that being said, I enjoyed myself a lot. I loved the old man jokes aimed at Gavin, and I love how they both communicated their traumas and fears and adapted instead of judging and holding it against each other.

I am begging for Viggo's story next - because he gives ADHD vibes and I am so here for it.

Thank you to Chloe Liese and NetGalley for this ARC; I am voluntarily leaving this review.

Chloe Liese's writing especially in the Bergman books makes me feel at home. To think that I found this series not even a year ago is crazy to me because it has since become (part of) my (bookish) personality.
Three books were out when I discovered the series and I loved seeing my library buy them all for me. By the time book 4 came out I'd reread all the previous books. I read book 4 the day it came out even though I had to hand in my Bachelor's thesis two days later. I was going to do the same thing with this book but I was absolutely blessed and against all expectations got to read this early. I was nervous not gonna lie. Both because I was scared that this time I wouldn't fall head over heels and because this is Chloe Liese's first MM romance. But I shouldn't have fretted this family has a chokehold on me and I am sooo excited to read about Viggo and especially Ziggy's story in the future. <3

“I don’t know when it happened. When annoyance gave way to affection, when bickering became foreplay and lust’s grip became love’s fist wrapped around my heart until it’s every best was just for him.”

Oliver & Gavin’s story is almost here, so what can you expect? I’m so glad you asked:

M/M Sports Romance
Grumpy vs Sunshine
Enemies to Lovers
Age Gap
Anxiety & Chronic Pain Rep

Chloe is the slow burn seductress and the sovereign of sexual tension. Just wait for that locker room scene and the hotel room scene🥵 (one bed !!!!) For a moment I was afraid my tablet would actually start smoking.

Like all of Chloe’s works, in addition to the heat, this story is soft, vulnerable and filled with heart and humour. We also get glimpses and updates from previous characters AND a full chapter-by-chapter playlist to accompany us on this emotional rollercoaster.

All that’s left now is which Bergman sibling will be up next; Ziggy or Viggo.

Thank you to Chloe and NetGalley for this eARC. Everything for You will be released May 10th, 2022 & ebook editions are available for pre-order now from major retailers.

Use this time the book gods have given you before pub day to go and get yourself acquainted with the other members of the Bergman family. Start with Ryder & Willa’s story in Only When It’s Us. When your finished, come back and tell me which character is your favourite and why it’s Ren.

“I love you for bravely showing me love when you didn’t know what it was, but you knew I needed it, and you needed it, too.”

Oh My God!! I would like to start by saying that this book is absolutely wonderful! I have loved the Bergman family since we were introduced to them in Only When It’s Us. They are captivating and hilarious, I will always love diving back into their world. This is an amazing, steamy, m/m sports romance with lots of tension and great banter! Of course it is also a grumpy/ sunshine AND an enemies to lovers with a dual POV. Everything For You is literally perfection!!

Oliver and Gavin are as opposite as they could be, but they also are extremely similar. They are two lonely men hiding behind masks as a way of protecting themselves. Oliver hides behind his smile, while Gavin hides behind his scowl. They usually will avoid being in each other’s way, however, that is not possible when they are told to work together. Their chemistry was off the charts and their interactions were explosive, full of tension and banter! They both have incredible personalities and it was amazing to see them abandon their masks and be their true selves throughout the book. Being open with each other definitely made them develop more and more feelings, and it made me adore them even more! Also, did I mention that they are required to share a bed? JUST ONE BED! It was one of my favorite scenes, and the morning after scene was spectacular. I was laughing so much I had to wipe some tears. Their character developments were extraordinary! I love good character development and this novel has two amazing ones. The way they grow from their interactions and slowly come out of their shell in order to be with each other is amazing. This novel is beautifully written and I could not help myself from binging this in one day. Ollie and Gavin’s story is one I will be thinking about for a while and will be rereading in the future!

I love all the Encanto references!! This book’s playlist is possibly one of my favorite playlists of all time. I loved all the family scenes in this book! It isn’t a Bergman Family book without the family! Willa and Ryder have had my heart from the beginning and reading about them in this novel gave me all the warm feelings! Ren and Frankie are beautiful, as ever! Aiden and Freya and the mini Bergmans!!! Definitely one of my favorite things about Everything For You is Linnea’s relationship with Ollie. He is such a wonderful uncle and seeing that made me so happy. Axel and Rooney! I missed them so much! VIGGO!!! Oh my god Viggo is amazing. He is so funny and romantic! Men written by women>> I cannot wait to read more about Viggo in his book!

I would HIGHLY recommend this series to everyone! Although this is a standalone, I would definitely recommend reading the other books to avoid any confusion, and also as a way to get to know the rest of the Bergman family! They are incredible.

Thank you Netgalley and Chloe Liese for the advance copy of Everything For You in exchange for my honest review. I’m extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to read this wonderful book in advance! Everything For You will be released on May 3rd, 2022 🥰

I went into this book knowing little about it; I knew it was a Bergman Brothers book, it was queer AF, and it featured soccer. As I started to read, I was hit with hardcore Ted Lasso vibes and was immediately in love! (In fact, I had to pause to inquire where I could send @romcom_reader a copy since we both adore Ted Lasso and I know she will feel similarly to me.)

Everything for You is peak grumpy/sunshine vibes and features two characters at different stages of their lives figuring out where they fit in professionally (and where they fit in relation to each other.) Oliver is a young, up-and-coming soccer star who uses positivity to cope with life, and Gavin is a grumpy, swearing veteran who has had to return to the States since he can no longer play at the UK level. They already don’t mix well when their (seriously sneaky matchmaking) coach assigns them co-captains.

It was like if Ted Lasso and Roy Kent fell in love. And I am here for it. Like I need a physical copy in my life to reread ASAp here for it.

The characters are grumpy and sunshine, but they’re both so much more than that. They have history, fears, and outside interests. I love that they get to fall in love as they uncover the depths of the other. I love that they’re figuring out themselves at the same time. And that it’s okay to not be perfect. That’s not a pre-requisite for loving or finding love. (Something I’d do well to remember in my own quest for love.)

And shoutout to my fave guest appearance: Linnie, for being adorbs; Willa, for making me cry; Viggo, for being the most hilarious shit disturber; and Elin, for packing up a family of who knows how many at this point with such efficiency in the name of love.

I’m so grateful for having been given the opportunity to read and review this book early by NetGalley. Truly, it was the most wonderful surprise to be accepted for this arc!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book!

I have loved the Bergman’s stories so far and Oliver’s is no exception! Oliver, like many of his siblings, is a soccer player but he is nearing the end of his college career. At the end of the previous book we got a glimpse into the fact that he was torn up over something in his romantic life and that’s where we begin but then shortly skip four years ahead. He has been playing on a pro team for the last three years and for the last two under a captain who did very well in the UK league earlier but now is getting older and has come back to the US. Gavin comes across not only as rude and unapproachable, but that he also dislikes Oliver specifically. To make matters worse, they live next door to each other and their coach has just made Oliver co-captain for the new season. They are forced to work together and help each other, which of course means they’ll get to know one another more. As someone with chronic pain and some experience with anxiety, I thought both topics were really well handled in this book. I am so excited for others to read this one and to read the next two siblings’ books in the future!

This Roy Kent-inspired book delivers another heartfelt love story by Chloe Liese. Pick up if you enjoy the grump/sunshine or enemies-to-lovers tropes combined with a slow burn sports romance. The contrast between the teammates continues, as Ollie is the hot young star while Gavin is the curse-happy player dealing with chronic pain and nearing the end of his soccer career, much like Roy Kent. Full of pranks and vulnerabilities, pick this one up! This is the fifth in a series of novels about a Swedish-American family of seven siblings that, while can be read alone, is made richer if you've read the previous books.

Thanks to the author for giving me an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Oliver and Gavin's dynamic is *perfection*. Gavin is a curmudgeon veteran player facing the end of his career with all the pain that comes with it. He's gruff with everyone, but especially Oliver, his overly cheerful and courteous next door neighbor. When they're paired as co-captains for the season they both must face the demons their tension brings to light. This might be the slowest burn in the series so far, but Chloe Liese perfectly balanced the tension with letting the reader live in the relationship. I felt completely satisfied, though I have reread the last chapter multiple times, just because.
Gavin is dealing with so many complex feelings throughout this story, and I just wanted to scream at him to let the entire Bergman family love him! And because the comparison is begging to be made, he is like a gay Roy Kent from Ted Lasso, so if you love that show you should check this out. (Especially if you love his interactions with his niece!)
The family really stood out to me in this installment. We get new family members and we get to learn more about the siblings who haven't had a book yet. There's a time jump near the beginning of this book, and I love getting to see the growth these characters have gone through.
