I don't know how she does it, but I get the feeling that books just pour out of Chloe. There is so much heart and soul in these books and reading them is so effortless and bingeable that it *feels like* writing them must be the same way. The pace is consistently impossible to put down. Start it on a Friday evening and have absolutely nothing planned but this book for the weekend.

Pining!!! Holy heavens the pining. Chloe's books put all the burn in slow burn. You know it's going to be hot and steamy. Every interaction is building up to that point. She dangles it in front of you with almost kisses and interrupted moments. And then finally the magic happens and it's so beautiful. IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL with vulnerability and tenderness and heat.

This book is when Lord Anthony tells Kate, "You are the bane of my existence" **intense staring** "And the object of all my desires." I will read this beautiful book again and again and the paperback belongs on my favorites shelf!

It's about Oliver (I wuv him) 💕 smartypants, sweetie pie, + professional soccer player and his grumpy, older teammate, Gavin. Now that they are co-captains, they need to work together, but they have years of animosity and misunderstanding between them--but also buried attraction and desire too! Note: anxiety rep and chronic pain.. Check CWs if needed, but Chloe writes sensitive topics with so much care.

Thank you so much Chloe Liese and Netgalley for the e-ARC. All opinions are my own!

My heart. Oh, my heart. Chloe has done it again with this fifth installment of the Bergman Brothers. Every time I think, THIS one is my favorite, then I read another one and am undecided again. Everything for You is Oliver’s story and is the first MM relationship in the series. It’s an age gap, grumpy sunshine, enemies to lovers, soccer romance with only one bed, lots of pranks & shenanigans, meddling Bergman brothers, a trip to the A-frame, and chronic pain and anxiety rep. Fans of Kulti and Ted Lasso, looking to fill the Sal/Reiner/Roy/Keeley shaped place in your heart THIS IS YOUR BOOK.

Maybe it’s because I’ve spent so much time with the Bergman family and love them like my own, but this book made me weepy AF. We get Bergman babies and Bergman weddings! We get the brothers Bergman forcing Oliver to confront his feelings while citing wisdom from their favorite romance novels. We get tender heart to heart moments with Ziggy and Willa. All of it pulled at my heart strings and if I wasn’t swooning or smiling ear to ear, I was crying happy tears.

I absolutely loved the dynamic between Oliver and Gavin in this book. Gavin is ten years Oliver’s senior and coming to the end of incredibly successful soccer career. He resents everything that Oliver is—youthful, strong, pain free, at the beginning of his career—while having to painfully confront what he knows is the end of his. In addition to that, he is the grumpiest of grumps with the most well-guarded squishy interior. For all his grunting and scowling, the two have impeccable banter and Oliver cannot help but needle Gavin whenever the opportunity presents itself. They bicker and prank each other ruthlessly until that fine line of passionate hate spills over into passionate love and then my iPad overheated. Seriously, the chemistry between these two is off the charts and it is perfectly balanced with scenes of intense vulnerability and caring for one another. WHEN I SAY I SWOONED Y’ALL.

I cannot recommend this series highly enough. Chloe Liese writes wildly inclusive books with so much care and attention to detail. Each and everyone one will break your heart before putting it back together better than it was before. I hope to someday have my own a-frame with my wife and I hope all of our kids will come and stay and bring all of their SOs and fill it with chaotic love. My eternal gratitude to Chloe for this early copy. Everything for You is out May 10th and you’re definitely going to want to pre order it.

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for my advance review copy.

How does Chloe Liese knock it out of the park every single time? Like her other Bergman novels, Everything for You left me smiling a little brighter and feeling a littler lighter. Her romances are full of humor and heart, but balanced by her inclusion of real struggles and problems.

Oliver is pure sunshine. Gavin is the grumpiest grump. Oliver is the up and coming soccer star. Gavin is in the twilight of his professional career. After being paired up as co-captains, Oliver and Gavin are forced to work together...but that doesn't mean they call a truce. But their petty pranks escalate to much more than either one of them anticipates in this slow-burn, tension filled sports romance. It's one for the ages, folks.

The anxiety rep is amazing. Having suffered panic attacks like Oliver, I can say with complete sincerity that Chloe captures the weight and the pain of the panic perfectly. In fact, one scene was so visceral I FELT EVERYTHING along with Oliver, tears of understanding pooling in my eyes. And Gavin lives in chronic pain from his countless injuries suffered over the years. My chronic pain stems from my autoimmune conditions, but whoa buddy--I could relate. Some days, getting out of bed and putting pants on is excruciating. and unless you've lived with that level of pain, there's no way of completely understanding how utterly exhausting it is to try and appear "normal."

If you love romance, or sports, or sports romances that don't shy away from the hard stuff in life, you NEED Everything for You in your life.

Chloe Liese knocked it out of the park with Everything for You. I definitely have faves in the Bergman family, but Oliver and Gavin made their way into my heart with this enemies to lovers story. Gavin and Oliver have had a tense relationship as members of the same soccer team, but when they become co-captains, their enmity reaches it's peak. Oliver's playfulness and Gavin's stern personality not only clash, but provide the best kind of tension in a romance novel. From pranks to arguments to carpool hijinks, Everything for You is all of the things you need in your life.

Received an Advanced Reader’s Copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

*clears out cobwebs, dusts, sneezes from said dust, mops until she can see her reflection*

*peeks to look at everyone* Hi. I’m back.

I know it’s been almost a month since my last post, however I have a fantastic excus—REASON. Fantastic reason. My cousin got married!! *dances around for five minutes* From that extrememly wonderful day onwards it has been day after day of many many social meets—you can ask anyone, I’m not lying about this. However, I’m back and I’m happy to say I’m here to review a book before it’s release date. Woot woot.

The first book that broke the long break was Chloe Liese’s Everything for You. Chloe’s books have always been comfort reads for me with a dash of humour, a sprinkle of heart wrenching and more than a few heart warming moments. So far, I have always been able to relate to every single character at some point in their story and I’m proper obsessed with her writing and work. She is constantly ensuring her work represents well and is forever making sure that we are well warned about the content before we enter.

Everything for You, like most of Chloe’s stories, is sweet (omgsomuchangstbutsoverysweet). There are many familiar moments that we’ve seen over the series, of the love between the family and the constant support they offer one another. We see some small surprises that are heart warming and many quiet but big moments of being truly seen by the people you love and who love you.

Chloe constantly reminds me with every one of her books how different someone’s life can be from the what we presume from the person that we see them to be on the outside. Additionally the gentle lessons her books teach us, the warmth with which she reminds us that even risks can feel safe with the right people—and not just the people that we are romantically inclined towards—is the best best besssst.

One of her characters has anxiety and the other suffers with chronic pain. The first time I ever read a book where a protagonist had anxiety (Natalia Jaster’s Dare) I weeped for hours. It made me feel so much more … loved, somehow. Like who I am and what I am is a reality that wasn’t in my head. Chloe has always done the same with her work and I’m forever grateful for her for writing about characters by breaking the idea the readers have of them and showing us the truth.

Chloe, IMHO, is the Queen of unravelling the inner workings of a character’s mind; of watching as they grow from where they are to places they only dreamed of reaching. I loved watching Oliver and Gavin tear at the seams of their internal struggles and break free; reaching out, being honest and truthful with those around them and themselves. Chloe makes falling in love feel real. Not magical and fantastical, but real and that in itself makes it wondrous.

Definitely recommend this series to anyone! Five stars!

BOOK REVIEW: Everything For You by Chloe Liese

3.5 Stars
Smut level: 4/5

I could not wait to dive into this book as I adore this series and although it wasn't quite as good as I hoped, I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

Everything for You is based around the Bergman brother Ollie and his professional football (soccer) teammate Gavin. Ollie is bisexual and Gavin is gay and I loved this lgbt+ representation, especially within a sports setting. I haven't read that much MM romance so I am not an expert on it but I felt Chloe Liese did a really good job. The story is an enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, with an age gap trope and a forced proximity "one bed" scene as well.

I really liked Ollie in previous books but unfortunately I just didn't click with him in this book. I thought he was a bit too fake and pretty self centred when it came to Gavin. He suffers from anxiety which was written well and I am always a fan of mental health rep. I was sad that I just didn't gel with his character in this book.
Gavin on the other hand, I loved. He is the epitomy of a grumpy character and I loved that even when he was happy, he still had that in his personality. I was sad that we only got some of his backstory at the end, I would have liked to get to know him even more throughout the book. Gavin suffers from severe sports injuries and has chronic pain. As someone that also suffers from constant pain, I thought it was well written and really appreciated the story showing that people with chronic pain are no less worthy of love.

The romance was funny, sweet and hot! And although I wish there had been more "getting to know you" scenes to show a slower and more realistic progression, I still really liked their romance. The smut scenes were well written and I definitely felt the chemistry between them.
I also enjoyed the cameos from the Bergman family.

I really enjoyed reading this installment even though it wasn't my favourite in the series. I cannot wait for the next book!

Please note that I was #gifted this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Everything for You can easily be read as a stand-alone in the Bergman series, however, you’ll want to go back and read the previous installments. The Bergmans are wild, crazy, and fun loving. Watching Oliver become more than just a man cub, and really find his own way as an adult, is a beautiful journey as he matches wits with Gavin. Everything for You has so much heart and soul. There’s meddling brothers and senior citizens. There’s soul searching and heartache, and plenty of laughs. Chloe Liese illustrates Gavin’s life with chronic pain, and handles it with the utmost care. Gavin and Oliver are serious relationship goals. I can’t wait for next Bergman book to see how their relationship progresses.

This book has so many tropes in it that it’s almost too much (sports romance, workplace/teammates, neighbors, hate to love, grumpy/sunshine, only one bed, age gap), but I am not at all surprised that Chloe Liese pulled it off beautifully! I am obsessed with the Bergman family, and this was the perfect next addition to the series. I loved how much we got to see of the Bergmans in this book! They always play such a big part in the stories, and I am here for it!!

Oliver and Gavin are teammates on the same soccer team, but at very different stages in their career. Oliver is a young sunshine player while Gavin is ten years older than Oliver, the captain of the team, grumpy, and towards the end of his career. Their coach tells them that Oliver is going to be Gavin’s co-captain. Gavin is very stand-offish and is upset by this. Oliver starts to prank Gavin as his way of getting “even” without getting caught. This was super funny, and a great addition to the book.

Gavin and Oliver have both had a thing for each other forever, but have kept it to themselves for various reasons. I loved seeing Gavin slowly open up to Oliver, and Oliver also has things that he keeps hidden that he had to open up about with Gavin. I loved their relationship development.

This book is a lovely read, great for a book escape. It follows the usual romance tropes, and while it can get a little silly in this, it moves at a steady pace never getting bogged down in the narrative. The characters are well laid out, the setting is well researched and portrayed, and the action keeps moving. It is a sweet enemies-to-lovers journey through a fun and highly competitive setting. With a seemingly well-grounded character reaching for one that has been set adrift not only emotionally but professionally as well. Allowing for growth of character and a strong emotional arc. Overall a very nice read and a lovely romance.

Review linked.

4.5/5 Stars!

CW: Homophobia, discussions around past abuse/trauma (discussions are vague in nature), Chronic pain/Sports injury on page description, anxiety attacks (on page and discussed).
(These are all of the ones that I saw, but there might be more. I recommend checking other reviews.)

A huge thank you to NetGalley and for sending me an E-ARC of this book for an honest review.

Obviously know that when I discuss the rep in this book, I am coming from the perspective of a Queer woman who does have anxiety and does live with chronic pain (caused by a sport).

When I say I am a big fan of Chloe’s books, I mean that I am A BIG FAN of Chloe’s books. So I was super excited to read the next installment in the Bergman Brothers series—a series that has made me feel so loved and seen as an autistic reader. And I was especially excited because this book has everything I needed: chronic pain rep, anxiety rep, sports romance, AND IT IS GAY! *Cheers in Gay*

To be completely honest, I was a bit hesitant going into this book because I knew it might be a bit triggering. As someone who does deal with panic attacks and severe anxiety AND chronic pain caused by a sports injustice in my hip and back (yes I did feel a bit personally attacked, Chloe, my emotions were not okay in this book), Chloe handled it all beautifully. Where there are some panic attacks and discussions around homophobia on the page, it did not feel excessive or there to only cause drama. It felt real and honest. And the chronic pain rep was really well done. I loved how Chloe was very aware of just how much living with chronic pain can impact every moment of every day. What Gavin is going through was so personal and so real that sometimes it was a bit difficult for me to read. There were only two times where I wished discussions around leaving the sport were discussed a bit further (however, I can understand how it wasn’t discussed, especially as a past athlete, because sometimes the trauma from your own sport can be something you only work through a long time after you do leave the sport), but other than that I did love it.

For me, the Queer rep was good! I loved how this book did discuss homophobia in the sports world but did not make the story about that. It was about Gavin and Oliver’s romance and love and that was a beautiful story to read about. Both of these characters have their own trauma that they have to work through, and sometimes it was a bit painful to watch them work through it, but in the end the romance felt real and beautiful.

And this book! It is HOT! This book is sexy and fun and I loved seeing Oliver and Gavin’s beautiful love story on the page!

Ultimately, I thought that this was a beautiful book and I cannot wait to read more from Chloe Liese in the future! If you have yet to pick up this romance series… what is stopping you? I cannot recommend it enough!

Thanks for reading!
Caden

I feel like this books takes the grumpy/sunshine trope to a whole different level. Gavin is just sooo grumpy and Oliver is just sooo sunny, but, as expected, we learn they both have so much more depth beneath the surface.

I think what I appreciate most about this book, and every previous Bergman book, is the familial love. These siblings listen to and understand each other; I’ve never read another family who cares so deeply for and has such excellent communication with each other. They’re the sibling ideal, but it sets such a high standard that I can’t imagine a real life family all similarly best friends.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I have loved Chloe Liese since the moment I first read Only When It's Us, and was waiting so so patiently for Oliver's book to come out. And it was good! Sunshine/grump is a time-honored trope, and fits well in this m/m sports romance.

There were a few things that kept this from being a 5-star bonanza--the biggest being that I couldn't never quite pin down who Oliver was. That time skip at the very beginning made it a little difficult to see the transition from lovable man-cub to this new hardened version of Oliver. So much so that his speech at the end was a little disconcerting. It would've made sense coming from Viggo, but not Oliver as he was portrayed for the majority of Everything for You. I struggled with some of his chapters. However, I am always a fan of anxiety rep, and appreciated its inclusion here.

I loved every and all Gavin chapters. I've never even seen Ted Lasso, and I was on board, 100% in. I've seen a couple other reviews stating that they've never read a Bergman Brothers novel and had a hard time with all the other characters being thrown into the mix, but I am a Bergman fangirl, so it was all very exciting and nostalgic for me. I also appreciated that all of the soccer scenes were exciting without being overly technical. I am not, nor have I ever been, a soccer girl (TM). But this is a sports romance, so I would've been disappointed if all of the book had taken place off the field. For me it was just the right balance.

All in all, if you are also a Bergman Brothers fan, this is definitely worth a read. If you are strictly looking for an m/m title, this book is pretty late in the series, and I do think you'll miss out on some of the family scenes.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Everything for You is the fifth book in the Bergman Brothers series by Chloe Liese. It follows the second youngest Bergman, Oliver, an anxious professional soccer player who has just been promoted to co-captain of his team. His other co-captain, Gavin Hayes is a grumpy veteran footballer who is coping with chronic pain and the inevitable end of his career. The two characters have spent the last two years on the same team with a strained relationship but now working closely might bring up unwanted feelings.
I have read two previous books in this series, the first which I dnf’d due to disliking the ‘will they/ won’t they’ plot between the two MCs and the second book which I did enjoy a lot. This is my favourite of the series that I’ve read so far.
Oliver is such a sweetheart, always considering other people and acting with kindness. I would have liked to see him process his past relationship trauma, it just felt brushed over very quickly. Unless this is dealt with in books 3 or 4 in the series, which I haven’t read yet. Gavin was a great grumpy character but I do think his past was discussed very quickly for something that was probably very traumatic. It just felt like a throwaway conversation at the end of the book. I also would have loved to see him work at his charity work a bit more. The chemistry between the two was great. The banter was a lot of fun too. The third act conflict was very reasonable and I think this is usually what makes or breaks a romance novel for me so I liked how grounded it was.
This book is a very chill, comfy grumpy/sunshine romance about hope and allowing yourself to have love. I absolutely devoured Everything For You and it definitely left me with a cosy feeling once I was finished.

I enjoyed this story, it’s an emotional read. There are also a few things I enjoyed less.

The enemies to lovers part was well done. Both characters were nicely developed, Oliver more than Gavin, some personal parts were only revealed at the end.
I loved them, even though their story was dragging, it was dragging so much. I wanted action, firework, the interruptions, and delay were no fun, the slow burn was killingly slow.
It wasn’t as bad as it sounds, but dragging is torture for me as a reader.
There’s a lot of family fuss, they got a lot of attention in this story!
The captivatingly writing style was enjoyable. The soccer in this story didn't do it for me.
The sexual encounters were sweet but a bit vague, I love encounters detailed and named by what it is.
Overall a nice read.

Oh dear, where to start? I loved reading this book. Loved the butterflies it gave me, how it made me blush, how I rooted for both Gavin and Oliver and how I could almost bodily feel their pain. I laughed out loud many times and I was completely addicted from page one. Chloe Liese is one of my favourite romance writers, and this story was even better than her previous novels. This book hit me right in the feels.

Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this e-arc. All opinions are my own.

Ooh Chloe Liese is the queen of grumpy/sunshine romance, and I needed this book between Oliver Bergman and the very Roy Kent-ish Gavin. Oliver's anxiety and Gavin's fears of the end of his soccer career were handled very adeptly and with great care. Having a smidge of enemies to lovers/unrequited love was the icing on the cake. We also got a lovely dose of Bergman shenanigans-- I will be truly heartbroken when this series is over. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a free ARC in exchange for my thoughts.

Oliver Bergman is the 6th out of 7 kids in the Bergman family and the youngest brother. He plays professional soccer in Los Angeles and is bi. Gavin Hayes is at the tail end of his career, playing for the same team in LA because he can no longer make his body perform at the level demanded in the European league. Oliver is keeping himself upbeat and believes in killing them with kindness, especially Gavin, his team mate and next door neighbor. Gavin looks at Oliver and sees everything he has lost and is about to lose.

Gavin and Oliver are locked in an enmity, but luckily for them they have a coach, some poker buddies, and Oliver’s brother, Viggo, happily meddling to bring them together. Their coach makes them co-captains and then tells them if they can’t get along they’ll both be demoted. And then there are shenanigans on top of shenanigans.

Oliver lives with anxiety and panic attacks, and Gavin has wrecked his body playing soccer. Gavin is unexpectedly kind to Oliver during a panic attack. Oliver, raised by a father with a prosthetic leg, autistic siblings, and a sister-in-law with rheumatoid arthritis, is well equipped to accept and understand Gavin’s pain.

Everything for You is full of touch and the way it builds connection. Liese shows her characters touching with friendship, solace, love, and desire. Touch more than words demonstrates the characters true feelings and self. Gavin uses his grumpy face as a shield, while Oliver’s sunshine keeps people at a distance.

One of the joys of a romance series is knowing that a side character is going to get their romance. Sometimes you get a sense of how it’s going to go, or a hint of who it will be with. I don’t know who is going to rock Viggo’s boat, and I cannot wait to see how the romance novel loving Bergman brother is going to get his world turned upside down. I suspect his brothers will relish the opportunity to meddle as mercilessly in his love life as he has in theirs.

As with the other Bergman Brother books, each chapter comes with a song and Chloe Liese provides a link to a Spotify playlist.

CW: a homophobic slur is directed at Oliver, but we see the impact not the word itself. Chronic pain, panic attack on page, off page death of parent, discussion of disability.

I received an advance reader copy from the author via NetGalley. My opinions are my own.

It's always so hard for me to put into words how Chloe's books make me feel. Everything for You was no exception- I was peer pressured into starting it around 9:00 PM and stayed up devouring every word that night, laughing, crying and swooning along the way.

I didn't realize how much I was looking forward to Oliver's story until I got into this one, and I think it's because he's the Bergman I see the most of myself in (soccer skills not included.). He's someone who feels heartache and loss so deeply, cares for those in his life so deeply, and tries to be sunshine and happiness to the outside world, even when the anxiety is a storm inside of him trying to come out. Watching Gavin learn and unpack Oliver's true self was a wonderful journey (and it definitely doesn't hurt that Gavin was the perfect Grumpy to Oliver's sunshine).

Chloe's books are the bar with which I hold all slow burns to, I don't know anyone who does them better. The tension as it starts to creep up to an almost palpable level on the page is just, *chef's kiss*. Only one bed? I can't believe that bed didn't catch on fire. You think this is the moment they'll finally give in? You may be right or you may be wrong- you'll just need to keep turning those page to find out.

When my favorite authors come out with a new book, I always struggle whether I should read it as soon as I get access to it, or should I put it off, so I don't have to wait as long until I get to read something new from that brilliant author? I'm so glad we get two new books from Chloe this year, and I can definitely see myself re-reading this one again sometime soon.

"Everyone wants to be loved somehow, some way, for their little bit of warped, jagged light, for those cracks that have shaped who they are - not just their joy but their pain. Everyone wants to be seen."

I've waited patiently for Ollie's book and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! These Bergman Brothers continue to reign supreme as my very favorite contemporary romance series.

Oliver Bergman is a ray of effing sunshine, and Gavin Hayes is...not. They're teammates and when they have to co-captain the team together, they can't keep avoiding each other. Oh they're also next door neighbors. Amazing. With Ted Lasso vibes for days, I loved seeing Chloe's first MM romance featuring some the best tropes: age gap, grump/sunshine, and (Oprah voice) ONLY ONE BED.

I loved that the book picks up right where book #4 left off, and then has a time jump. It worked SO WELL in this instance. I also loved that we got so much of the Bergman family. Book 4 had very few appearances by the family members, which worked for Axel's story perfectly, but Ollie's connection to each member of his family demanded they show their faces. I swooned every time, but that scene with Willa on the deck actually made me cry my eyes out. I loved Gavin's grumpiness and his underlying deep care and compassion for the people he let into his life. His group of older neighbors was such a delightful addition to the cast of characters in this universe.

Content warnings: Gavin lives with chronic pain and Ollie with anxiety and panic attacks. The author's note contains good information, but Ollie has two panic attacks on-page. There's also a scene where a homophobic slur is uttered at Ollie, though the slur is not used or tolerated by any of the characters.

I voluntarily reviewed an early copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I was lucky enough to be a beta sensitivity reader for Chloe and Everything For You and when I tell you I love this book I truly mean it. Chloe has a way with writing - highlighting experiences that feel so real, representing identities that are often not written about in romance, and making things steamy steamy steamy. Oliver and Gavin were perfect - the grumpy sunshine, the angry steamy vibes, enemies to lovers, only one bed. That is my JAM. But honestly, it is more than that. It is about being able to feel confident in your journey. To find someone who loves and supports you regardless of what sport you play or how you identify. And it's about the importance of family and centering non-trauma. I just love this story and I can't wait for others to read it as well!
