I didn't realise that his was part of a series and despite a kind of 'cliff-hangery' ending, this book can absolutely be read and enjoyed as a standalone.

I felt quite nostalgic reading this, being a child of the Thatcher years and having been caught up in the romance of a new princess joining the royal family, it was interesting to see it portrayed from a completely different angle.

I will definitely be looking at more titles in this series.

This was an enjoyable read but was a bit slow in places. Not the usual suspense vibe like his other books but still worth a read especially if your fan.

The 5th in the series but just as enjoyable as the previous 4. Typical Jeffrey Archer I found this a good read, a few twists and unexpected turns but I'd definitely recommend this book although it would be helpful to have read the previous ones first.

A very readable read, well written and moves along at an engaging pace. It does take a while for anything much to happen and I was waiting for it to kick in but it's great once it does. I have read previous books in the series and I feel this is needed to a large extent and it wouldn't work that well as a standalone.

Okay I finally know what the big deal with this author is : it is well written, it lacks nothings and it is very gripping.

Difficult to read without having read the previous outings in the series but a general all round Jeffrey archer thriller

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
I have enjoyed several other books by this author, and this novel continued to deliver his intricate and thrilling plots. I use the plural of plots because there are many interwoven strands of double-crossing and bluffing that I wonder how he manages to keep track of his characters! I thought he reminded us of the way Princess Diana entranced so many people, and his descriptions of the work of royal protection officers was very interesting. I disliked his use of American spellings - the story is based in England with British characters - and the detail of the cricket match was uninteresting, but overall I thought this was a very good book and I would read more in this series.

I don't know how he does it but every Archer book is so immensely readable. Sometimes you believe it will be an obvious plot but always always finds a way to surprise in a believable way. As an Irishman i shouldn't like any of the royal stuff but how could you not enjoy Archer's books.

Unfortunately I struggled with this one. I found that it was hard to get into and the plot was a little slow paced compared to others i have read by Archer. It took a few attempts to really get into it.

The fifth instalment on the DI Warwick series. Absolutely gripping storyline based around the protection of Princess Diana and the prisoner Miles Faulkner. It take a little time to get going but then you get totally gripped. Archer as always a great storyteller

This is the first book I had read in this series, so perhaps my thoughts are swayed by my lack of knowledge of the characters.

This dragged for me. It wasn't the sharp thriller action I'm used to from Archer. Bit of a slog in the middle to get through.

Next in Line by Jeffrey Archer was another excellent book this is the fifth book in the excellent Detective William Warwick series and I have been hooked from the very first book. This has been a great series and I highly recommend all of these books.

This book wasn’t for me, I’m sad to say. It felt like a regurgitation of other stories and plots I’ve read before. Nothing new or exciting. It was fine but I’d expect more from Jeffrey Archer!

Another excellent episode in the William Warwick series.
This time Princess Diana is being protected and in the background more battles with Miles Faulkner and his. solicitor Booth -Watson - another great read and a further instalment to a great series and impossible to put down.
