This book was so much fun to jump into for a spookier read going into October! As a big fan of the Shadow and Bone series, this was a novel I had no issue jumping into and getting right into the adventure of it. It is the third book in the series, which was super exciting because I got to read the other two once more and fall back in love with the witches, apothecary, and all the other characters I'd come to love as I read this series.

It features one of my favourite tropes of found family, something that makes this novel SO GOOD! It features magic, friendship, family, and definitely all the makings of an amazing YA novel. There is so much love between characters by book three, it makes every action or consequence of one of the characters that much more emotional for the reader. The book picked up right where we left off in book two and I was so invested in all the characters that it was nearly impossible to put down! A great spooky season read!
