Gorgeously illustrated, a lovely children’s book which will be enjoyed for years and years.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest feedback.
This is a lovely counting book that is so easy to read aloud to a pre school pupil. Beautiful illustrations and a lovely way of introducing counting.
What a delightful new book from one of our favourite author and illustrators Emily Gravett. Emily has such a wonderful illustrative style that is so recognisable. There's a warmth and friendliness to her images. Lots of Emily's books have simple captions to go with the pictures and 10 Cats is one of these books. It's a 1 to 10 counting book with oodles of playful fun when the cats discover some paint tins and get in all sorts of colourful mess!
The cats are loveable and adorable and children will thoroughly enjoy exploring early numbers and colours through this charming book. I'd recommend this book for 2/3+ years. My daughter is five and is a huge feline fan so it's a real hit with her. She particularly loved the playful illustrations of the kittens.
I love this simple counting book with cats getting up to mischief with different colour paint. A cute book for colours and counting. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I love Gravett's books and this is another delightful picture book that is bright, simple and fun. This is a perfect counting book for very young children!
Absolutely delightful! I love Emily Gravett's artwork and this is another winner - just sheer cat chaos and joy. Definitely one I'll be getting a physical copy of for my toddler.
This is a lovely counting book that also helps teach colours
More to the point it is simply fun to share with children.
Little bookworm (age 5 ) enjoyed this story. . She was able to take the simple format and was soon making up her own version to tell me.
Who doesn’t love cut cats covered in paint!
A lovely book for early years.
For when counting revision is not enough from a book, you could try this, which also brings in colours, and how secondary colours are formed. We start with ten lovely cats – a parent and nine kittens – and while the older one sleeps, the other nine start to play, and that play includes breaking into pots of paint... There's detail and character galore in the pictures of the messy, rascally moggies, and even if all the text is doing is telling us what we're seeing there's actually no small narrative here, meaning this successfully disguises the lessons it has to convey behind a thick wall of humorous entertainment. A fine success – four and a half stars.
This a cute book about cats and counting. I think little children will enjoy founding the different cats in the book by counting them. The illustrations are really good. I think this book will be ideal for children who love cats and it is very colourful that catches your eye.
Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book.
