I will not lie--I enjoyed this book club kit far greater than I enjoyed the actual book. I'm not going to be going too much into that, though, as I have already left my thoughts on the book on NetGalley.
As usual, I loved that the kit included content warnings--I think if the coordinator of said book club is prompt and plans ahead, it would be wonderful for them to share this with book club members before the discussion session. Another thing I really thought was cool/different was the inclusion of writing prompts--it's totally on brand for the book and story, and it kind of forces readers to put themselves in the characters' shoes. And if, like me, the book club may not have loved the book, it will provide a nice little break where they can think of other things. And finally, they included a lovely little interview with the cover designer (Marci Senders) which was just /so/ interesting to read. I think it fit in wonderfully considering Izzy works in publishing, but I also think I would enjoy seeing interviews like this in other book club kits/media! It's so interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes.
All in all, a very wonderfully done book club kit for perhaps a not as wonderfully written book.

I really enjoyed this Book Club Kit! I haven't read By the Book yet, but I'm really excited for it's release. This kit includes some fun activities and useful information about the book to help enhance the experience of reading it. I recommend it for people and book clubs reading the book! Thank you for letting me read it.

Fun supplemental kit for By the Book! I can't wait for this book to release, Jasmine Guillory is an autobuy for me!

This was an excellent book club kit. It begins with content warnings (which I always appreciate) and interviews with the author and cover illustrator. I loved all of the discussion questions and think they will lead to a great conversation about this book.
There are also a few fun things to do together, including a bunch of writing prompts/tips for writers and a guide to making charcuterie boards (this was one of my favorite parts). The recommended reading at the end of this kit was also great and I appreciated the way it was broken down into different genres (enemies to lovers/retelling/self-discovery).
Thank you for this book club kit. I can’t wait to use it with my book club!

What a great kit! Particularly liked that it has Content Warnings, the bookmarks and the book suggestions at the end were a nice touch!
I wasn't fan of the writting exercise but that's just me... Overall a great asset for any book club and I think this just serve as an example for other kits!

Loved that it has a content warning for the book and discussion in the kit.
The theming and art of the kit matches the book well. It made the whole kit cohesive.
In my bookclubs, we always look up interviews with the author to hear more about the autho of the books we are reading, and also to see if the author talks more about the books’ context or any extra info. Having a bookclub kit that has all the info in it, really makes things easier for me when running my book clubs.
The author interview questions were good. I wished there were a few deeper questions, but the questions in general were great. And there was a good amount of them.
First I LOVED that there were a couple discussion questions from the author. That was very clever, and I wish all book club kits had that! The discussion questions were good. They left a lot of opportunity for club members to discuss and share experiences and feelings about the book and their own lives. I do wish there was more than one question about burnout, or maybe just a couple deeper questions.
I like the bookmarks. It would be a little better if the images were printed together so you could fold pages to make the bookmark instead of gluing two separate pieces. The inclusion of the bookmarks is a great tough though.
With so many bookclubs meeting and staying connected over apps like discord, because of the pandemic (unable to meet in person), the writing prompts and additional exercises give us something extra to connect to the book and each other with. I really like the idea of writing exercises that we can share with each other between book club meetings.
We all know an important part of a book club meeting are the snacks and drinks. Having the charcuterie board section was a lot of fun, and helps with the planning of the meeting. All book club kits should definitely include snack suggestions, based on an important meal in the book, or character’s fave eats. The drinks section was also great.
In all this is a great book club kit. There were moments and questions that I had wished had been a bit deeper but overall it is great. Snack ideas should definitely be included in all kits!

This was super helpful to our book club and really generated great discussion. We did have some fun with the Beauty and the Beast Comparisons. Not everyone had the same feelings about their enjoyment of the book, but the questions were relevant and brought a lot of discussion that we hadn’t thought of at first.

Great book club guide with excellent questions and background. I love this author and cannot wait to bring this guide to my book club next month.

I can’t wait to use this with my book club! We always are looking for interactive and fun things for our club. Thank you!

This was a very informative book club kit. I will be sure to pass some of the suggestions along to the many book clubs I am in, as the suggestions can be used for Jasmine Guillory novels as well as others. Thank you to NetGalley and We are Bookish for this option.

I didn't realize this was not a reader's guide. I haven't read the book so I skimmed this without spoilers. I really like the recipes in the back to make a fun book club

Five star kit.
This is a great and thorough book club kit. There are several interesting discussion questions. Thank you!

This is so fun! Definitely recommending the book to our book club, so this book club kit will come in handy! Especially love the bookmark!

This kit has all you for the perfect book club meeting. There is background information about the author as well as her sharing inspiration for this novel. Lots of insightful discussion questions are included. Even recipes for a beverage and snack are there to make for a perfect meeting. All you need to do is invite her favorite bookish peeps.

A perfect compliment to Jasmine Guillory’s by By the Book. It provides everything you need for a successful book club: snack and cocktail ideas, discussion questions, writing prompts, and even book picks for the different tropes found in the book.

This made me very excited to purchase this book. I think that creating book club kits is such a brilliant idea because many people picked up reading during the pandemic while quarantining alone at home. These will allow us to get more involved with the book community and enhance our experience.

Great kit for book clubs. I cannot wait to read the books! I’ve loved all this Authors books. When I downloaded this I thought it was the book. But this is great information to have. Love the discussion questions.

This is a very good book club and cant wait to read Jasmine books. This will be my first time reading her book.

Things I really enjoyed about this Book Club Kit:
- Content warnings for the book! something really looked over still but important for readers
- Author interview!! It's always interesting to read interviews about the book/Q&A's when you've finished the book.
- Custom bookmarks! omg, I want those in my hands right now,
- The recommendations!!!! Christina Lauren and Emily Henry mention? I'm sold.
Things I didn't really like/could change.
- The writing exercise, is this a common thing in book clubs? idk I wouldn't want to do a writing exercise I'd rather just have a discussion about the prompts
- Cocktail how-to, I don't drink so I just doesn't apply to me but also I think a how-to of a mocktail too would be interesting? it looked like it was only alcoholic
Overall I think this is a perfect book club kit and will be very beneficial to those who run book clubs.

The Book Club Kit By the Book by Jasmine Guillory is the perfect idea booklet for bookish parties. Filled with fun ideas to share with friends, it will encourage participants to open up to new experiences and see the perspective of the author. It is like the icing on the cake!
What I liked:
I loved the questions to open up a book discussion and was delighted to read how the cover of the book was created. The charcuterie boards and margaritas would be a huge hit for the group. The addition of the bookmarks are a nice surprise.
What I liked less:
I am not sure how the writing exercise would go over. The exercise gives only 13 minutes to fill out and share the questions. Ten questions in that length of time might be stressful to some members.
Thank you so much to NetGalley, We Are Bookish, and Jasmine Guillory. I look forward to reading By The Book. I believe all book clubs and reviewers would benefit from this kit. The perspective of the author and discussion questions helped me as the reader/reviewer get a peak inside the author's thought process behind each of the characters.
