This is my second Ciara Knight book and I hope there will be more! She swept me away with this story. It was very fast paced. I would have enjoyed some more time with these characters.

The romance and pregnancy was the center of the story, but the friendships were just as important. All the women were strong, independent and had other interests along with their romances. The women also encouraged the men in their lives to support each other and have their own friendship.

I will be looking for Ciara's next book.

I was thrilled to return to the 'Friendsters'. This book focuses on Kat who thinks her current symptoms indicate she's starting menopause when in fact, due to a supplement she takes which affects her birth control, is pregnant at 50.

Her boyfriend has always said he didn't want children due to his mother's death during childbirth. Now they must navigate the future and deal with a high risk pregnancy due to her age.

Are they able to work through the challenges? The significant others of her girlfriends welcome Wes and name themselves the 'mansters'. You'll laugh and cry as Wes and Kat face an uncertain future. I can't wait for the final book in the series.

I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.

Ms. Knight has once again wowed me with her latest extraordinary story. This is a truly beautiful and heartwarming story that is not to be missed. The characters are realistic and relatable with strong and endearing qualities and you just can't help but fall in love with them. I was pulled into the story right from the start and it held my attention till the very end. A later in life, touching, romantic story, Wes and Kat are thrown for a loop when they get some very shocking news. They are both forced to deal with their past while embracing this blessing and their future. This was a beautiful and heartwarming story that I really enjoyed. An emotional tale that will warm your heart and bring a smile to your face. The cast of characters are wonderfully well-developed and realistic and relatable which give them an authentic quality.
Really loved it and wholeheartedly recommend!

When you think you have your life figured out, life sometimes has other plans for you. That is what happens with Kat and Wes. Now they have to navigate and figure out what they are going to do now. This was never in their plans, but they do have to figure it out. There are a lot of ups and downs, for me there were a few holding my breath moments waiting to see what would happen.
Their journey continues, and they struggle to find the new balance in their life, and the path that is right for them. Life does throw them a curveball, but they face their new reality, and Ciara Knight writes the story, so we enjoy all that they go through, right along with them.
I received an ARC from Author Collective 20 through NetGalley.

This third book in the Friendship Beach Series, Summer Island Hope by Ciara Knight is a true hit to the heart. I have been following this series from the beginning with this book having the most surprising and heart touching plot. Kat is the high power attorney who never expected to have a child while also having more than a little fear of the marriage commitment. Longtime boyfriend is the perfect man for her, with Wes thinking he would never be father material either. What a surprise they encounter after reaching the age of fifty plus.

This story touched my heart in so many ways. The shock and adjustment in their acceptance, the uncertainty, the friendships, and the confrontation with the past gave all the feels and emotions of what Kat and Wes were going through. The story was realistic and the characters relatable with the sweet surprise at the conclusion. And yes, we all want to be part of the Friendsters and Mansters.

A clean romance that borders on women’s fiction. While this is part of a series it would read well as a stand-alone. One to read today.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley, Ciara Knight and Author Collective 20 for the book Summer Island Hope. This is my personal review.
I started reading this book with the feeling that I had read this storyline many times but the further I read I was on to a book that had me hooked.
Weston and Kathleen had a life changing event that gave them so much to think about. With each other side by side they handled the changes and filled their lives with so much happiness. Along the path there was fear, love, decisions, family, and friends that made their fills fuller than they ever imagined it could be.
The author did a fantastic job of making me care deeply for Weston and Kathleen.
This is a perfect book to grab and sit in a comfy chair in the sun and spend the day with the characters in the story.

This book is part of a series, but was easily read as a stand-alone.

Kat is a 50-year old high powered attorney; Wes is her long-term boyfriend and business owner. Kat and Wes together are about to be parents....and couldn't be more unsure about it.

I found the story line to be somewhat unique; it is unusual for a 50 year old to be pregnant for the first time. Both Kat and Wes are fraught with emotional baggage that their parents inflicted on them, and that's making the whole idea of becoming parents difficult. Add to that they are both independent people with careers who now have to learn a new normal.

I liked the book, it moved quickly. What I didn't like is that while both Kat and Wes are mature people, they often thought and acted as immature 20 year olds. I understand that it is really difficult to get past mental conditioning that has been drilled into you over the years, and that wasn't what I took issue with. Kat never tied up her law career, it just kind of disappeared. Wes sold his business on a whim even before he knew Kat was pregnant, just so they could spend more time together. Instead of seeing this as a sacrifice, Kat reacted badly to it.

I did like The Friendsters (and The Mansters), and the way they valued each others support and had each others backs. The locale sounds beautiful, as does Kat's house.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

A wholesome story following Wes and Kat as she falls pregnant at 50. The couple hadn’t planned on becoming parents and they didn’t know if the pregnancy would make it nor their relationship. A good group of friends surround the couple as they work out their next steps which adds to the telling. An interesting look at pregnancies of women close to the menopause and the risks and impacts.

This book gave me all the good feels. Kat and Wes are both in their 50’s and never wanted children. Less work and more travel was what they planned on. Of course the universe had other plans for them and a baby is now their future. This was a book filled with trepidation, fear and an emotional roller coaster of feelings. It brought back memories of my pregnancies. It was a very touching and emotional book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Weston Knox has met his true love Kathleen Stein. They are both dedicated to their very successful careers and want for nothing. Theirs has been a rolling romance, but they are carrying scars from their family life in their childhood. Weston’s mother died in childbirth, the first born and never forgiven by his father. Kathleen’s mother was distant with her and threw money at staff to look after her and also kept the house clean. Both Weston and Kathleen had a miserable childhood believing they were unwanted and unloved.
Now in midlife Weston wants be with Kathleen forever and she feels just the same way. In discussions together they have decided that they don’t want a family. They want to travel, enjoy each other and use their wealth to live a life of luxury, enjoying their time together without ties. Unknown to Kathleen, Weston has sold his business and is on his way to her gorgeous house on Summer Island. With him on the plane is a beautiful engagement ring that he has commissioned just for her, both unique and stunning.
However Kathleen is ill with a debilitating sickness bug that she just cannot get rid of. She feels very weak and frail, but her friends are with her. They have been together, the four of them, since childhood and they know all about Weston and how much she wants to be with him, despite her engagement refusals in the past. He managed to get on an earlier flight than he told her, so he is sure she will be surprised to see him. He plans to ask her to marry him upon his arrival at her door. In 1785 Robert Burns wrote “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry”, and unfortunately this happens once again, as sadly his proposal is halted before he gets a chance to propose. He is warned off because Kathleen is so ill. Her friends have bought a pregnancy testing kit, just to rule a disastrous pregnancy out.
Kathleen needs to do this pregnancy test. She has discovered she is late and worries what will happen if she is pregnant. She prays the test is not positive as she fears that will end their relationship and she will be a single parent. This is their story of a high risk pregnancy, two lovers and very protective friends.
This story was well told and poignant. The characterisation was very good with a relatable cast of great friends who were loyal and supportive. I enjoyed the romance and my favourite character was Weston, who stood by his girlfriend and adored her. I had a traumatic pregnancy although I was still in my twenties and so I empathised with the loving couple and their dilemma. Nine months is a long time when there are concerns about both mother and child. The research undertaken by the author was meticulous and added authenticity to her story. I received a complimentary copy of this novel from Defy the Dark Publishing through my membership of NetGalley. These are my own honest and well considered opinions. This is an easy read with an involving story filled with interesting and diverse characters to keep you turning the pages.

Summer Island Hope by Ciara Knight is another visit to Summer Island with the group of friends Wind, Trace, Jewel and Kat. The girls are now in their 50's and Kat has come home with her new partner Wes when she discovers she is pregnant for the first time. The story covers dealing with both Kat and Wes's fears about the pregnancy and how life could change and shows us the importance of love and the support of friends and family.

Although part of a series, this book works perfectly well as a stand alone. The characters are all likeable and believable as is always the case in Ciara's books. The topic is covered with care and respect and offers an insight into concerns many of us never need to consider, but maybe we should!
