Book 11 in the DI Helen Grace series. A good read, however i didn’t enjoy it as much as some of the others in the series. I didn’t find the story as gripping as some of the others in the series.

Absolutely brilliant book! The story was fast paced and clever, it really is a thrilling read, there are some gruesome bits, and tension leading up to them, but the violence isn't dwelt on which is good.

Alongside the main storyline of a crazed serial killer, we learn about DI Helen Grace's own problems, whereby she is being hunted down by a former adversary who is relentless in his pursuit of her.

Despite not having read any of the rest of the series, I didn't find that this distracted from Grace's storyline at all, though will def be adding them all to my list after this.

This thriller is a real page turner, with short and snappy chapters which just tempt you to read 'just one more' . Clever writing and character creation, along with high paced twists and vivid imagery have made this an excellent thriller.

Thank you to Netgalley, Orion Publishing and MJ Arlidge for a copy of this book in return for an open and honest review.

Excellent continuation of the Helen Grace series. This one doesn't disappoint with great pacing and interesting plot with plenty of twists and turns. For fans of the series highly recommended!

Even though I had bought a physical copy of this book to read, I would still like to thank Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another gripping novel from Helen Grace. I just love her! And the gruesome murders had me hooked from start to finish. Had me guessing the whole way through!
And what a conclusion! Can't wait for the next to see what's next for Helen!

This is the 11th book in the Helen Grace book series but can be read as a standalone. It’s a well paced read. There was reference to past storylines but they were explained enough for you to be somewhat in the know. I found this one engaging and definitely had the suspense factor. Really well developed and likeable characters even if some a little too indestructible. I enjoyed it up until it all started coming together and felt the outcome was a let down and not the big reveal it was built up to be. Disappointing as it had great potential to end with a bang.

3.5/5 🌟🌟🌟/🌟

Thanks to Netgalley and Orion Publishing Group for the opportunity to listen to #CatAndMouse

Arldige can write!! This book was super dark and twisty and full of depth! I love how easy and short the chapters are and yet there is so much detail and uniqueness to the writing! I am obsessed with this series!

First off.. before I even get around to reviewing the actual book can we take a minute to talk about the cover! Everything about it appealed to me, the colour pop, the bold title and then that eerie glazed figure in the background.. it just shouted 'Read Me'.

Now, I have to admit that I have only read two other books in this series but both were easily 5 star ratings so I was super keen to get my hands on this one.

Once again we see the lead character Detective Helen Grace head up an investigation of a crazed killer who's actions don't seem to have any rhyme or reason. When some clues start to fall into place Detective Grace and her team start to realise that things are seeming personal.

Whilst chasing down this investigation, DI Grace is also having to deal with an old adversary seeking revenge.

This is a book that goes at a million miles an hour and doesn't let you go until the very end. A fantastic read from start to finish but I found it wasn't as dark as the last book which I was slightly disappointed in (that's the strange Psychopath in me lol).

Now whilst as stated before I haven't read the whole series I did find that it helped that I'd read book #10 so I would recommend to others to do the same.

Thanks to netgalley and Orion Publishing Group for the ARC.

Another amazing DI Helen Grace novel from M J Arlidge. I have read all of these books and they just seem to get better and better. Full of twists and turns, familiar characters and suspense - a great read.

Not only was DI Grace on the hunt for a killer, she herself is also being hunted. The short chapters grab you and the pace is just so quick! The action is just as fast paced too with characters I really care about.

I was highly recommended coming to these books in chronological order as there is a lot of superb character development throughout the course of the series which helps make these books as good as they are.

Cat and Mouse is another wild instalment of the DI Helen Grace series.

This time Helen is trying to track down one serial killer whilst fearing being killed by a different killer. Will poor Helen ever catch a break? Ah I think she loves all the excitement tbh, and so do I!

This book is fast paced, full of action and a few quite shocking moments. Yet it's not just surface level crime drama. This being the 11th book in the series I feel like I have such a connection to these characters now and I enjoy following their personal plot lines.

It was nice to see Charlie Brooks back with the team after her maternity leave with her second child, and very nice to not see her wracked with guilt about being a working mother as we have in some of the previous books. Women can be mother's and go to work without beating ourselves up over it!

As always with this series I loved the book and flew through it, as fast as my brain and time constraints allowed me to. Very excited to be finally up to date on this series and can't wait for the next book!

This is one of my favourite authors and yet again he didn’t disappoint.
Scary storyline where even the main character herself is in danger.
Has the usual twists and turns we’ve come to expect from this brilliant storyteller. Just make sure you’ve locked your doors but then again it doesn’t really matter does it ?
Hopefully not too long to wait for the next instalment.

One of my absolute favourite authors, I’m never disappointed.

Another book packed full of tension and suspense in which I can’t help rooting for the main character.

Very tense thriller…..with a very satisfying ending and one that stays in one’s head long after the book is finished

I’d like to thank NetGalley and Orion for approving me for an ARC of this book. I am a big fan of the Helen Grace series and couldn’t wait to dive into this one, especially after the cliff hanger ending of the last one! Whilst this book is part of a series they can be read as standalones. We are given enough background information to learn what has happened in previous books and each book investigates a separate case.

The book opens with a brutal murder that frankly made me question how comfortable I felt being in the house on my own! Southampton has a new killer on the loose and it seems that his attacks are random and none of the victims have a link. From a young mother to a teenager Helen and the team can’t fathom what connects them. As usual M.J. Arlidge throws a few red herrings our way and when the final murderer is revealed I was honestly shocked.

Running alongside this story we have Helen and the new threat she faces. I can’t imagine what it must be like to live constantly looking over your shoulder and whilst Helen is a formidable force this at times proves too much for her. Emilia Garanita does not help matters and lets just the say Helen makes her feelings pretty clear on that front. I did like seeing the slight change in Emilia but I do wonder if it will stick?

As always Charlie Brooks was there to support Helen through the case despite having her own battles to deal with at home. I have loved Charlie as a secondary character from the start of this series and she only proved herself more in the final part of the story. Everyone needs a friend like Charlie.

M.J. Arlidge has done it again and written a fast paced, action packed, gruesome story. I look forward to reading the next one and seeing what Helen and the team face next.

M J Arlidge does it again, another book I just could not put down, I've been a fan since this authors first book and will continue to be so.
Helen Grace is a complicated protgonist, with lots of personal problems happening along side her chaotic work life, but there is an amazing balance with the way the author writes her story.

M J Arlidge has always been one of my favourite authors and this series is the series that just keeps on giving. this is the 11th book in the series and love DI Helen Grace, no matter what life throws at her she just keeps getting back up! This book relates to a previous character in book 10 so would highly recommend reading at least this book however, it is written so that this can be read as a stand alone as M J Arlidge is that good! This books is face paced, gripping and did not disappoint.

Thank you to net galley for allowing me to read this book. This was the 11th book in the Helen Grace series but it was easy enough to pick up as a stand alone book. The pace was quick though I found some of the writing a bit repetitive. It did pick up nearer the end with the usual twist and turns expected. I would read more in this series and probably rate this one as a 3.5 overall.

I want to read the others in the series first before this one, I started reading but I think I’ll go back the start and read this one again and re score when I’ve read them.
