This was just an OK read for me. I think my main issue was reading right from the start it was ghost written, which after following Amber for a while it was a real let down for me to know she hadn't written it herself. I persevered and did finish the book, it was just OK. Cute characters with back stories, but the writing wasn't my favourite.

Oh I loved everything about this. I felt like I knew Samantha and she was my friend, I was rooting for her so bad!
Great debut from Amber Rose Gill. One to watch.

Okay, so I wasn't blown away, but it wasn't bad. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting, and maybe I had really high expectations, but the story didn't quite manage to hold my attention all the way through. It is a decent summer read and would be great for lying by the pool, being able to dip in and out of it (the book, not the pool) without thinking too much.

Amber Rose Gill’s debut novel is a sweet, easy to read adventure that transports you on its journey to the idyllic Caribbean setting for the wedding where Samantha and Roman meet. Samantha is recently split from her long term ex and is in a writing rut. A trip to her friends wedding seems like the perfect opportunity to start a travel blog. The characters are likeable and friendships seem genuine, It’s good to see a easy romance novel including a range of diverse characters and relationships.

A super cute read, perfect for summer and full of holiday vibes! I loved the friendship group and their relationships with each other and I thought Samantha and Roman were well-formed characters. Some parts felt a little rushed but overall an enjoyable read.

I loved this book! It was a really fun read and i was intrigued by all of the characters. I usually wish books had an extra chapter or epilogue but i thought this ended perfectly. I would hands down recommend and will definitely be gifting it in the future.

I love that we see the chemistry between Sam and Ronan instantly. I enjoyed the fact that we didn't have to wait too long for their romance to begin like you usually do in romance novels.

I also loved the whole cast of characters and their own relationships and issues. They are a great friendship group and really help each other out and root for Sam and Ronan to work out. There are some twists and turns throughout the wedding week to keep you on your toes throughout the book.

Thank you to Netgalley and Mills & boon for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

'Until I Met You' is a debut romance novel which is a perfect summer read. I absolutely loved how easy this book was to read. From the first chapter, I was sucked into the story and completely rooting for Samantha to find her happiness. I loved that we jumped straight into the story and there was not a lot of build up to getting to the wedding and meeting Roman.
Samantha and Roman's chemistry was so obvious as soon as they met and I loved that and loved that we were able to see them falling for each other.
The first half of the book I absolutely flew through, but the second half did drag a little and I was having to force myself to carry on reading, but this was still a super fast read for me and an adorable summer romance.
If you're looking for a romance which has a lot of flirty banter with a beautiful summery setting, then this is the perfect book for you to read, especially in the sunshine.
I absolutely love the cover of this book and even though this isn't a new favourite, I can't wait to own a physical copy of this book because I think it is absolutely beautiful.

I thought this book was a real pleasure to read. Samantha’s backstory was set up quickly and efficiently meaning that we could get straight into the story. I love books that are set around weddings and had not read one in this kind of setting before. The location of Tobago was painted really well and the meet cute between Samantha and the hero Roman was natural and believable, as was their developing relationship. I will look forward to seeing what this author comes up with next.

Until I Met You could have done with a couple more passes by an editor and maybe another draft. A lot of it was good, a lot was fun, I liked the way Samantha and Roman met, fell out, fell for each other. It was good and natural. Unfortunately the Tragic Misunderstanding (or Third Act Conflict) was just so forced that it really ruined the book for me. Samantha misinterprets something, gets mad, gets mad at Roman for lying about something that isn't really a big deal, ignores him, and goes him. And then a couple of months later he turns up, tells her all the same stuff he said before but because she's missed him for two months she just straight up forgives him? He didn't need forgiving in the first place (in my opinion) but if you're gonna be annoyed about it you should stick to your guns about it?

An island romance with the lush tropics and the sandy beaches and Sam and Roman attend friends’ wedding. The trip ends up promoting lots of love and actions from the large group of friends whilst Roman and Sam see if they can forget their past relationships to have one together.
The relationship between Sam and Roman is adult and emotional and really lovely to follow in all of its rawness. What confused me was how many extras to the tale there were and they were all thrown in the mix from page 1. It took a long time to settle into the book and get comfy with it and there was always a new name or an extra bit of the plot just thrown in with no warning. A great romance but a messy telling.

A light, easy, summer read that you'll probably just read in one go. It is breezy and fun and it ticks all the boxes for a holiday romance you can read on the beach.

I loved the characters of Samantha and Roman and really enjoyed the back and forth in their relationship. Samantha finds herself trying to get away from it all only to land in Roman's sights.

Will they/won't they at it's finest. Lot's of obstacles. A really good read.

Recommended to anyone who wants a quick summery read.

Was so excited to read this, having been a fan of Amber Rose Gill since Love Island. Samantha Roberts is on her way to Tobago for her best friend’s wedding. She’s recently been dumped, so is unexpectedly going on this trip solo. While she’s there, she catches up with friends, comes to terms with her break up and meets Roman Carver. Roman has relocated from
the US to the island to take some time out. Things develop very quickly between them and Samantha also discovers new things about herself and the different types of relationships in her life. The settings, characters, depth and friendships were fantastic. However, sometimes the dialogue between all the friends was hard to keep up with and it was a shame none of the character’s names reflected the diversity.

This had so much potential but it was about as interesting as reading a shopping list – the writing had no personality and had lots of large paragraphs describing characters or backstory that made things feel slow and boring. It lacked finesse and style.

There were also some logic inconsistencies and ultimately that was the point where I stopped reading, I couldn’t see it getting any better.

This is a solid first novel from Amber Rose Gill. It was a romance novel which had some nice twists and turns. It had me laughing and crying, which is something I like in a book. I will be looking out for more books from Amber!

Sam is attending the wedding of her oldest friend, just before the wedding her boyfriend left her to go travelling, leaving her heart broken. Most of the wedding party are her friends who are all in couples. She make and unlikely alliance with the only other single person there.
The relationship between Sam and Roman was sweet and felt like the had a connection. The relationship’s with all the other friends seem genuine however Sam is struggling with the distance and feels like she is being left behind by her friends. Sam is a good friend though and helps all the friends throughout the story.

All in all it was a great read, that I couldn’t put down, it took me 2 evening to devour this book!

Thanks to netgalley for the ARC, all views and opinions are my own.

Although this is a typical rom-com and dare I say, a bit predictable, as a debut, this adorable read is written well. With impressive descriptions of Tobago, the setting is amazing, and the reader has transported to this magnificent place thanks to the writing style of this author, making this a top summer read.

Samantha and Roman are great as main characters, both as lovable, captivating and interesting as the other, keeping the reader intrigued about where this plot is going. Samantha is spirited and feisty, and Roman sounds like a complete dreamboat! The author keeps the reader guessing about the conclusion throughout and the anticipation is cleverly executed.

Just a little note – Even though there is a bit of steam and sexual relations in this book, (as expected with this genre and publisher) it is very tame so not offensive at all. However, this is solely my view.

Overall, this delightfully easy-to-follow storyline has the ability for readers to lose themselves whilst reading. I highly recommend this and would be ordering for my upcoming holidays, had I not already been gifted it. I am hoping there are more to come from this author, as I will not hesitate in reading any future releases. This is a charming, romantic read you do not want to miss!

Until I Met You is a cheesy rom-com, filled with an island getaway and the sparks of a new romance. Samantha is fed up with her life and has aspirations to begin her own travel blog, detailing the adventures that her and her friends go on but something keeps stopping her and she can’t even come up with a title. Luckily, her best friend Naomi is getting married in Tobago and a tropical escape might be just what Samantha needs, especially after her recent breakup. As the only single woman in the wedding party, Samantha feels trepidation, but when she meets the gorgeous Roman, things begin to change and she starts to enjoy herself and all that Tobago has to offer.

I have to admit that I didn’t love this book. I have never watched an episode of Love Island so perhaps it wasn’t really aimed at me as Amber Rose Gill obviously has fans from winning the show who would perhaps enjoy this book a little more. I typically love a holiday romance, especially a beach read rom-com, but unfortunately Until I Met You didn’t deliver. I felt that it wasn’t particularly well written, the flow of the text didn’t work particularly well, for example, Samantha jumped from being completely uninterested in Roman to suddenly kissing him a few pages later. The relationship between them also felt very forced because her friends were really pushy about her spending time with him and kind of forced her to begin a romance even though she broke up with her boyfriend a fortnight before. I didn’t really feel the attraction between the two of them - it more felt like the chemistry was solely based on the fact that they were both single.

I mentioned that Samantha wanted to start a blog, and extracts of her travel writing are included in the book. For me, this really didn’t work well. I understand why it was included as perhaps it could have provided an insight into what she was feeling but mostly it just recapped what had already happened with a couple more wishy washy lines that didn’t add much to the book as a whole. These sections could have been removed and the book wouldn’t have suffered for it, in fact in my opinion it would have been improved.

Furthermore, the whole host of side characters did not have any development or long conversations with Samantha, even though they were supposed to be her best friends. Their conversations were so stunted it hurt to read. That made it hard to be invested in their relationships and the novel could have been improved by removing some characters and providing more detail about the remaining wedding guests.

In addition, the wedding setting didn’t work for me. Too much was happening in the background and it was hard to keep track. They had a very full timetable leading up to the ceremony which meant that events were briefly mentioned but then rushed over or never mentioned again. The immense privilege that all of the characters also had to drop their work, fly to the Caribbean and spend a week staying in privately rented bungalows paid for by the bride’s stepfather also made me feel like the whole story wasn’t really aimed at me. That’s of course not to say that I don’t think someone else wouldn’t enjoy this book, just not my cup of tea. It’s made clear on the title page that Amber Rose Gill had another author writing with her and I wonder if perhaps this added to the discombobulated feel of the book.

As fun as the idea of this book sounded, the characters just felt shallow, and it didn't work for me. It's a shame as this sounded like the perfect summer read. But in the end it just didn't work for me.

Super surprising to read a book written by the Love Island star - I never would have guessed it was Amber Gill if I hadn't read the foreword by the author.

This book was sweet and cheesy and had a lightweight feeling throughout that made it easy to read. The writing felt simple and straightforward and would be perfect for a summer beach read. Sam's narrative flowed nicely and I enjoyed reading from her perspective.

I feel I would have rated this book higher if it had been a bit shorter and snappier - given that the book is really set over a week or so, it felt quite long-winded in places and a lot of ruinating on side character problems that didn't really seem to add to the plot or character development. It made the ending feel rushed and I would have preferred the resolution to come a bit earlier.

I enjoyed reading Sam and Roman's interactions but I found some of the other characters felt a little flat, possibly because there were just so many other couples that it took me some time to recall who each person was. If one of the couples had been taken out it would have felt a bit tighter and there could have been more focus on the main characters.

Overall, this book was surprisingly well written and set in a beautiful location that made me want to go on a summer holiday. I would definitely read future work from Amber.

Meh, this was ok. The story line felt a bit weak and it’s set up for multiple sequels. It did feel like there were key words that were thrown in to make it popular and politically correct. The setting was great though!
