I really enjoyed this book. Read it over the Jubilee weekend and couldn’t put it down. The main character Sam is fresh from a break up and a bridesmaid at a destination wedding. She’s trying to figure out her next steps in her career and love life, this is the wedding weekend not to be missed. With a brilliant group of friends, all with their own secrets, Sam is encouraged into the arms of a recently single wedding guest. Sun, sea and romance; the perfect holiday read.
Samantha is dumped just before going to her best friend's wedding in Tobago. She then meets Roman who has had a bad experience as well, Great book and lovely descriptions of Tobago
I found this an ok read but felt it went on and on a bit too much. Could’ve been much shorter and snappier. But the descriptions of Tobago were gorgeous and the wedding sounded lovely! A good beach read, just a bit too long and winding for me.
I haven't come across this author before. But it certainly will not be the last time, and I will be looking for more by this author in the future. It's a really well written book. The descriptions in the book are wonderful. I really felt that I was on the adventure with the characters. Talking of the characters. I really enjoyed meeting them all. It is a lovely feel good, romantic comedy. One not to be missed.
This venture into rom-com lit for Amber Rose Gill is an exciting adventure and one I was so intrigued to read. Samantha heads off on a vacation to Tobago for her best friends wedding, solo after getting dumped at the last minute, but focuses on the positives this could mean for her travel blog. Its there though that she meets Roman Carver, a corporate guy from New York looking for a fresh start away from the city. The last thing he expected was to feel affection for someone like Samantha, but as the days go on and the sun beats down the two can't deny their chemistry for each other and the possibility that they were always meant to meet. Aside from our central characters, Gill paints the country of Tobago as an idyllic location and surrounds her locations with an array of side characters who make the story even more enriching. A fun frothy story that will make you want to travel for love in a heartbeat.
Thank you kindly to netgalley and mills and boon for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
So heartwarming... when you're not reading this book, you'll be hugging it. Remarkable characters, who will stay with you for a long time
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
I requested this book because of the amount of great reviews it has and I'm so glad I did. This book completely surpassed my expectations in so many ways and I wish I already had the physical copy of it to put on my shelf!
A nice read in a beautiful setting.
Sam is attending the wedding of one of her very closest friends, in paradise and with a weeks holiday in front of the ceremony to enjoy catching up with the old gang. Unfortunately she arrives minus her plus one and sticking out as the only single on the island...until she meets Roman.
There is some lovely attention to detail in the book, describing the famous tourist bits of Tobago perfectly but also taking the reader off the beaten track to the more private local parts of the island.
The characters are a little lacking with more attention paid to the wedding set up and the outfits than is paid to the personalities, which is a shame as several of them have great promise were they just to be a bit more rounded.
I would recommend as a light-hearted beach read.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book.
This was and easy and enjoyable romance. It follows the main character Samantha as she navigates her best friends wedding in the beautiful Trinidad and Tobago. I enjoyed the relationship between Sam and Roman. I felt the storylines within the friendship group were well done and added an extra layer to the story.
Amber Gill!!! Girl. I LOVED this in so many parts- it reminded me a bit of beach read- absolutely a terrific holiday read!
My only issue is with the dialogue being 80% of the interactions between Sam and Roman- I wanted to know their expressions or gestures more and it wasn't delivered.
However it was SUPER cute (especially after THAT scene).
In conclusion, a cute quick read that I enjoyed!
I really enjoyed Until I Met You by Amber Rose Gill.
I’m not a Love Island fan but I do love a rom com book and was looking forward to reading this book written by a fellow Geordie.
Samantha Robert’s is our main character.
She’s off to Tobago for a week to catch up with friends and ultimately celebrate her best friend’s wedding. Unfortunately her plus one, Timothy has dumped her so she is literally flying solo.
She is using this tropical destination as a chance to finally launch her travel blog but ends up meeting someone new – Roman Carver.
Could Roman be and Samantha be in it for the long haul or is this just a short-lived holiday romance?
I really enjoyed getting to know Samantha’s friends more and their activities and excursions around the island.
There’s lots of drama between the friends, a wedding that almost doesn’t happen, new romance and an engagement.
I was hoping for a little more hence the 4 stars.
A really enjoyable read, perfect for the summer!
Thank you NetGalley and Mills & Boon for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this eARC of "Until I Met You" by Amber Rose Gill. This is a debut romance novel by Miss Gill who is well known for winning Love Island.
Before reading this, I knew about Amber Gill. I didn't watch that season of Love Island but she was always kind and beautiful on social media. This book reflected that side of her and showcased two black main characters falling in love with eachother. It feels perfect to read on a beach or even on vacation in the summertime. My only qualm was that it felt like it was missing something that I couldn't put my eye on. I will definitely read any books Amber decides to create in the future.
A Sparkling five-star read. I didn’t have a clue who this author was, as I don’t watch reality TV, so that didn’t affect me at all, but I do know a couple of people who when I said I was reading this got so excited. This was a great story, and the setting was done so well, it made me want to go visit so badly, Samantha and Roman were great and had such great chemistry, but it was the secondary characters that surprised me and kept me hooked, I honestly think that if they hadn’t been done so well I wouldn’t have enjoyed this so much as there were bits that could have been done better, but overall I loved it. Maybe it’s the romantic in me, but I was adoring the whole wedding, even the Bridezilla bits.
A quick, easy and cute read that was full of fun and flirty romance that came along with its fair share of drama - a bit like an episode of love island.. I loved it,
A truly lovely read. Great ensemble cast and I loved the morning yoga! This makes for easy reading as the story is told so well. Lots of drama, and felt very invested in the relationships.
Flirty, fun, frivolous!
Samantha robert’s may not have a great love but she does have great friends and Samantha best friends wedding a chance to extend her travel blog and maybe her own proposal but instead Samantha found herself on her way to Tobago alone/single without Timothy
In Tobago Samantha meets Roman carver who’s fed up with his corporate job after years in New York Roman was starting again in Tobago the last thing Roman needed was a distraction in the free spirited travel blogger Samantha but there was something about Samantha that inspired a protective instinct in Roman they spend more and more time together under the tropical sun
Samantha realises she had no regrets about Timothy because otherwise she would never of had the chance to get to know Roman
Really enjoyed this book I couldn’t put it down totally recommend
Thank you NetGalley and Mills & Boom
