Little Homesteader: A Summer Treasury of Recipes, Crafts, and Wisdom is bright, easy to follow and fun. Indoor and outdoor activities will keep you busy all summer. I appreciate the notes about the importance of the environment. The recycling-trash-into-something-useful projects are fun, educational and environmentally positive. Even the paper is made from recycled material! I can't wait to share this book with customers and their kids. A wonderful way to spend quality time together, bond with the environment and learn.
What can you do during summertime? Making your own shampoo, butterflies watching, even gardening. Here you can find plenty of projects to do during summer. And all are interesting to do, to keep you busy. There are so many things to learn too, on summer.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Another great book from the Little Homesteader series this one about summer. There is information about growing vegetables and gardens, how to make a sugar scrub, and yummy recipes. I recommend all four seasons.
I would like to thank the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this eBook.
Little Homesteader: A Summer Treasury of Recipes, Crafts, and Wisdom by Angela Ferraro-Fanning is a beautifully illustrated book filled with ideas, recipes, and crafts that little ones will enjoy doing!
Such a useful and beautifully put together treasury to have at hand and lovely to dip in and out of. Will become a firm family favourite on the bookshelf.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for letting me access an advance copy of this book in exchange for my feedback.

This is the third book in an ongoing series based on the seasons that I have been lucky enough to get an advance reading copy of. The Winter volume still reigns as my favorite (however, I just received a copy of "FALL", my favorite season, so it may be dethroned. 😂 These books are just so fun to read through. Bright and colorful season inspired graphics. Seasonal information, crafts, and recipes. I especially loved the "Beneficial Bugs" and "What veggies to plant together' sections. I definitely want to try planting a "Three Sisters" garden! On my lists of crafts to try out is "Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub." Which just sounds amazing, as does the recipe for "Watermelon Popsicles." This is definitely a series that I would have loved as a kid. Two thumbs up!

My daughter and I loved this book. It's a really great mix of activities, recipes and ideas. We especially loved the iced tea recipe.
Lovely, vibrant illustrations add a lot to this book. I'd really recommend this. I also liked how it can be read from a young age with an adult and keep going as the child gets older and more able to read alone.
This series is amazing, each book represents a season and the Summer treasury was an amazing collection of crafts, arts, and recipes of things you can make with your children. As the book series is American, we have our Summers Arts and nice recipes to cozy up with. With recipes on how to make your very own flower crown to enjoying your bath time with your very own fizzy bath bombs . The other amazing thing is that the book just has that old-timey feel to it that reminds me of the Little House on the Prarie and I can imagine a time before technology where the mum and her children are sitting outside in the sun on your front porch working together to create great memories. This series is also perfect for homeschoolers as it comes complete with lots of different activities that can help in several curriculum strands from Art, STEM, etc. The other thing I loved about this book is the illustrations have a great wholesome family feel to the book that you just can't help but smile and have this quality family time feelings. The Little Homesteader series is the perfect book for children aged 5-12 years old and perfect for both boys and girls.
Very cute little book for young children. Some lovely ideas and pretty pictures. Useful for small groups but only one season. Would be interested in similar for other seasons.
I can’t wait to buy this book! So many fun projects I haven’t seen in other books for families. Perfect for the homeschool family who is looking to add casual learning disguised as complete fun. The Illustrations, directions, supplies, and facts are all stellar.
As with all the books in this series, the illustrations are beautiful and make you want to dive straight into the lovely activities.
We love that alongside activities there’s lots of earthly knowledge imparted in this book, such as complimentary planting combinations and butterfly identification illustrations.
There are lots of delicious recipes to try and fun activities such as raising caterpillars and decorating your own picnic blanket.
These are lovely books and serve as a basic guide to seasonal observations and living in harmony with Mother Nature. Wholesome, happy fun!
An absolute delight. I never tire of these book. And am down right thrilled when I see that a new season is released. The ideas are catchy and cute. Things that I will absolutely do during the summer with my kids!
Part of the Little Homesteader series, this summer treasury is filled with nature-based recipes, crafts, and learning for the preschool and early elementary age. All ideas are focused around the summer season and included projects such as:
brewing summer tea

and much more!
The book also includes information about butterflies, beneficial insects, gardening tips, and summer crops. And encourages a healthy curiosity for the natural world.
In the past, I've had the privilege to review many books in this series and have been delighted by every one of them. This summer treasury is filled with new ideas to create, learn, and spark interest. The projects are fun without being overwhelming. And the illustrations are just perfect for the target age range. This summer treasury is filled with wonderful ideas to keep your kiddos engaged in learning throughout the summer months. We absolutely loved it.

Little Homesteader A Summer Treasury is another beautiful book in this adorable and whimsical series.
These books are such a delight to read and I hope to own all the physical copies one day and hand them down from generation to generation.
In this edition there are so many cute and fun things for children to do (with a grown up) such as making their own watering can, making homemade shampoo, growing a butterfly, making a summer solstice cake, growling tomatoes from seeds, and much much more! I can't wait to try almost all of these activities out with my youngest child over the summer months!
This is a sweet little activity book for children that features a wide range of nature-based ideas to do in summer. I love that the publisher emphasizes planet-friendly practices, prints their books on recycled paper in the USA, teaches kids about the importance of taking care of the environment, etc.
I absolutely fell in love with the spring book and like this one slightly less, just because I found more creative nature-based ideas that appealed to me in the spring book. This is still great though, with ideas like how to do companion planting, making a watering can from a recycled milk jug, etc.
The illustrations are very young, and they give the idea that this book is just for preschoolers. That's a shame, as most of the activities will be great for much older kids too. There's a lot of fun stuff here.
Three stars -- liked it.
I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.
The is a sweet and wonderfully illustrated book of fun and educational ideas for children and adults. There are some familiar and some new crafts and recipes to try. I think it could have been a little longer of a book. But it is thoughtful and promotes learning by doing things.
Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me to read this book. The opinions are entirely my own.
