This absolutely brilliant book club kit is wonderful. Acting as a companion guide, there is so much packed in; great question prompts, author information, bookmarks and an excellent playlist too. I think this is fantastic, and so glad I had it ready for reading All My Rage with the 6th form book group. BRILLIANT. Thankyou We are Bookish!
I'm surprised that NG is asking for feedback on the book club kits, but this one is well done! Not sure I have much else to say. I've been excited about Sabaa's work for awhile, so looking forward to diving into the book itself.
I don't know what to say about this book except that it is EXCELLENT! Although there were hard times that the characters had to struggle through, this book seemed like a warm hug to me. It was extremely touching and felt very honest. I just loved this book. The only downside--the book cover! If there's ever a book not to judge by its cover, this is the one. This book cover hasn't grabbed the attention of my teen readers, who tend to be drawn to covers. I appreciate the author's thoughts on the cover; however, I think it's meaning is too abstract for a teen's visual attention when trying to pick out a book to read.
This is fantastic! My book club is excited for the discussion questions, and even more for the recipes!!! :) Thank you for this, netgalley!
Loved this book club kit! It was so much fun to use while I was reading it! This book was so moving and wonderful!
This book club kit was fantastic and had my group thinking. This was such a thought provoking book and the kit helped us with guiding our thoughts when we didn’t have the words.
This is a good companion book if you have read all my range. It has great insights, questions and answers, playlist, and recipes
Thanks for the book club kit! This will be incredibly helpful when my students read this text in their American Lit Book Clubs!
Book Club Kit: All My Rage
The purpose of this review is to discuss the Book Club Kit for the now National Book Award winner for Young Adult Literature - All My Rage, By Sabaa Tahir.

This young adult coming of age story is told in dual time lines. Misbah and Toufiq are newly married when tragedy strikes and they must leave their homeland in Lahore, Pakistan. In hopes of a fresh start, they flee to the United States where they open the Clouds’ Rest Inn Motel.

In short order, Sal’s desperate attempts to save the motel begin to spiral out of control. Noor, on the other hand, is duty bond to work at her uncle’s neighborhood liquor store. Feeling indebted to her uncle, Noor must conceal her plans for college, her only escape from him and Juniper. Now more than ever, Sal and Noor need one another but first must find it in their hearts to forgive, forget and heal.
In December my IRL Book Club selects titles for the up coming year. I requested the Book Club Kit for All My Rage with the hopes that it would enhance our group experience and discussion. The kit was created by the We Are Bookish editorial staff, an independent division of NetGalley. These are the people who produce all those helpful bookish lifestyle articles, exclusive author interviews, cover reveals and must read lists that NetGalley fans are familiar with. My expectations were high. Why not, these are the pros, right? I am happy to say that my expectations were not disappointed. In one printable unit, the kit contained all we would normally have researched and more. Here is a list of all it’s components:
📚 Letter from the author
📖 Author Interview
📕 Discussion Questions
📗 Playlist
📘 Bookmarks
📙 Recipes
📖 What to Read Next
Discussion questions address themes of friendship, the immigrant experience, racism, substance abuse, generational trauma and of course, as the title suggests, rage. The questions are on point and will encourage thoughtful dialogue. I think this Book Club Kit would enrich any book club’s next reading adventure. I am hopeful that NetGalley will offer more Book Club Kits in the future.
Thank you to @NetGalley and to the We Are Bookish team for the opportunity to review this Book Club Kit.
This reader’s guide is amazing! I am so happy I found it here. I absolutely loved All My Rage and want to do it as a lunch book club and this guide is perfect. While I was reading the book I wanted to find a recipe for the tea and there is one in the guide. Everything you could ever want is included (author interview, playlist, discussion questions, suggested readings, even bookmarks!)
The book club kit is amazing and would be really helpful in setting up a discussion about this book. The personal touch with the playlist was my favorite part!
I never saw a book club kit before, and this was AWESOME!! Sabaa Tahir is one of my favorite writers of all time. I own multiple copies an Amber in the Ashes series and wish I could forger just to have the pleasure to read it again. And thoroughly enjoyed having my heart broken and remade by Sabaa, All My Rage became also one of my favorite books.
I can't wait to try out the recipes that were included in this book club kit! I also look forward to listen the playlist as soon as possible. My favorite part was definitely reading Sabaa's interview, hearing about her process with this book, the characters and also having this experience with a book club kit. I'm looking forward to read whatever Sabaa writes next, even if it is her grocery shop list!!
This wasn't as comprehensive as I had hoped. But I LOVED this novel. Everything Sabaa Tahir touches is gold.
Such a great book and a great kit. Really touched on all the great insights of the book. Very well thought out and put together.
Book review :
This book is a collection of a brief of new books and sharing amazing recipies.
Though a short read the book provides upcoming new books and the list of popular songs.
This book club kit seems very useful for a book club discussion. I really appreciated seeing the Pakistani American representation in this book. I loved it.
This book is really close to my heart as it is based on my people albeit it has very heavy themes. The writing was immaculate and made the plot ever so emotional and moving for the reader. I was constantly rooting for the characters and feeling every emotion they felt. I was really transported into the book. The book does have very heavy themes so it is advised to look up the trigger warnings.
The book club kit made the reading experience even better.
This book covered a lot of topics, so I was happy to see that the discussion questions help folks think through these topics more. I'm excited to try the included chai recipe and many of the recommended books are now on my 'want to read' list.
I really appreciated the author insight regarding the background of the story. The discussion questions are strong and the addition of the recipes are cute, but I’m not sure they definitely added anything.
This kit was super cute; it just talked about the book and how you can bring into your book club. I don’t personally use it for the book club just for my own Viewing.
