A fascinating amalgam of a book – beautiful prose mixed with bizarre streams of consciousness interspersed with a guide to the UK’s climbing scene and crags.
As an inexpert climber myself, I assumed that non-climbers would be turned off reading it due to the climbing content and jargon. However reading some of the reviews, I’m clearly mistaken. I see that as evidence that the quality of the writing wins through and it’s not necessarily just us rock-geeks who will appreciate it.
Many thanks to the publisher for a review copy via NetGalley.
