PURE JOY! A heartwarming and uplifting story of a girl who puts together the BEST day out for her grandfather. There's so much that this book explores, including intergenerational relationships, racism, identity, being a young carer, dementia, and seeking out (and accepting!) help. But at its heart, it's still just this wonderful, joyous story that made me smile so hard my jaw hurt.

Definitely one of my favourite books of the year, I loved the unpredictability and originality of this adventure. It’s also incredibly moving and honest, with equal moments of hilarity and poignancy. I would love to see this book adapted for the screen, it’s a wonderful breath of fresh air.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me access to this book to read. I have seen this online so I was intrigued to be accepted to read this as an eARC.

I thought that this book was fun and easy to read I loved seeing the journey and progression of the characters not only individually but as a group with there relationships. I also thought that the misinterpretation of grief and old age is something most people can relate to because they don't want to see or admit that the people that we care for are ill. I liked the writing style although it felt like a middle grade book I did like how the pacing was.
On the other hand I felt like the main character didn't really act out when she realised that her necklace was lost which kind of alluded to the ending of her getting it back which if it had more emotional talk felt like it could of made to scene more moving. But I would recommend this is cute and a short read with great characters and a good nugget of information to take with you about how you can grow and overcome obstacles with others by your side.

I adored this book, it was a quick, easy and funny read that was adorably lughthearted whilst also examing stereotypes and blowing them apart. My favourite part about this book was the charcaters, I loved them.
