The Rebel Girls books never fail to amaze me! In this well-illustrated book, we find biographies about great young changemakers who are so creative and talented! I was so surprised by how young yet inspiring these girls are! This book is definitely a perfect bedtime reading material for kids!

This is a fabulous book! It is just what the title implies, perfect bedtime reading material. Each page has a big beautiful picture of the featured girl and a short page summary of why and how they are doing important things. These stories are so great to read at bedtime because it is easily digestible for young girls and they can also jump around a pick who they want to read about. This would also be a great book for upper elementary school kids to use in the classroom. I could definitely imagine students picking different girls to read their short biography and then scan the QR codes on each page to learn more about a person of their choosing. Also, cannot skip over the fact that this collection is very inclusive which is awesome! It includes so much representation which is important for future generations to see. Big thanks to NetGalley for a chance to read a copy of this ebook!

I always love reading stories about women and girls who are making a difference in their community and the world. This Rebel Girls Handbook departs from previous books in the series in that it features contemporary women and girls. In other words, these women and girls are with us today and their stories are still being written, so I suppose Rebel Girls will have to do a follow up. These women are always inspiring to read about, even if I may feel slightly under accomplished, lol. Review posted to Goodreads, Facebook, Instagram, Litsy, LibraryThing, Amazon.

When you face obstacles, there are ways to act. Some face it bravely, but some choose to tackle them and made a difference. These are girls who choose to overcome the problem, and be someone the world recognize. They might not aim for big names for themselves, but simply do something more to help. Truly an inspiring book to read.

In LOVE. I have the previous books in this series and I cannot wait to get my hands on a physical copy of this one.

To see yourself represented in stories is one thing, but to see yourself represented as a strong female in stories is another.

This book takes a great look at some of the most amazing women in our society today, those who have completed dangerous tasks or gone through some of the most intense struggles and still have come out on the other side as amazing humans, and put them all into one book for girls and boys to read about.

I cannot wait to share these stories of braveness, resilience, hard work, determination, and sacrifice with my son as we discuss all these qualities and why they are important for humans to embrace. Thank you for the opportunity to read!

Loved this new version in the popular rebel girls series. Everything in this book is amazing! The illustrations are dynamic, colourful and beautiful. The young women’s stories are inspiring and offer a great selection of role models across disciplines. Would be great for primary aged children (elementary school). Can’t wait to get a hard copy for my girls!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the honour of receiving this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I love these inspiring short stories about women, some famous some lesser known, all different but every single one of them a wonderful role model.

Another great installment in the Rebel Girls series. This particular version has the features which I have liked about the other volumes; while there are famous faces, there are a large number of people featured who I would not have heard about otherwise; the stories and illustrations are compiled by a variety of contributors; and the style is very engaging to young readers.
All in all, a great addition to the series.

This was actually the first Rebel Girls book that I read, aside from a Rebel Girls Quiz book (which was also fun). I really enjoyed this book. I loved that there were multiple authors and artists that told the stories of these inspiring young women. There was just enough information about each person to understand their accomplishments, and is a great gateway to learning about these inspirational women and the areas in which they are making an impact. There is a nice mixture of fields represented, including science, conservation, math, art, performing arts, philanthropy, engineering, activism...There is also a diverse and inclusive selection of women. This would indeed make an excellent read aloud for bedtime (maybe a few stories each night), as well as a good anytime read for those that like learning about inspiring people. I look forward to reading more titles in this lovely series.

In Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Inspiring Young Changemakers, Rebel Girls delivers what it as been delivering for years: one-page stories about girls and women who decided not to adhere to outmoded social norms, tapping into their best selves to contribute to the world in one form or another. As always, there are well known names (Zendaya, Billie Eilish, Greta Thunberg, and Taylor Swift, to name a few) and less well-known names. And as always, each story is accompanied by a portrait done by a young female or nonbinary artist from all over the world.

As this is the fifth installment of the Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls series, parents are in the position to pick which book would suit their child most. I do think, however, that getting the first book, Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls, to read to your younger child is a good place to start. I would then get 100 Real-Life Tales of Black Girl Magic because representation matters for all children, and in the context of anti-Black racism, I think it’s important for all races to celebrate Black Excellence. I would follow it up with the second book, Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls Volume 2.
Once more complex conversations start, around when they go to kindergarten, about racism and prejudice, the third book should be introduced (100 Immigrant Women Who Changed the World). And this newest edition, 100 Inspiring Young Changemakers, would be perfect for a child who is a little older and is starting to follow artists like Taylor Swift, Billie Eillish, and Jojo Siwa, to help them understand that there are not just entertainers, but that they are also contributing to discourses on sexism.

Rebel Girls, Let me know if you want a writer or an official reviewer and ambassador ;)

This new entry in the Rebel Girls series is my favorite so far. It's chock full of short descriptions of the rebel girls of today and how they excel in their fields. From artists to athletes to inventors, this book showcases young women striving to succeed and improve the world. The authors and illustrators of this project are also young women under thirty, which is an amazing feat in its own right. It's such a joy to read about these amazing girls and the illustrations are so fun and colorful. All girls/women should take a look at this series.

Stories for those who want to learn about current Rebel Girls. All of the girls in this book are born in the 1990s to the 2010s. They vary from a choreographer, Jalaliah Harmon from the USA, to a scientist, Kiara Nirghan of South Africa, you can find out about young women from all over the world doing all sorts for the world around them and the greater world for us all. There are athletes and climate activists. Each story is a page long and is perfect for reading at night, just be careful, you might want to keep going as you read. They are inspirational, even for someone older, like me. May these inspire more people to do better for themselves and the world around us.

Rebel Girls again come up trumps with another book about inspiring women in history - though this time all young women who are making a change in the present. From composers who are just 17 years old to inventors who are 13 with actors, musicians, activists, sportwomen and everything in between there is someone here to inspire every young girl whatever their background or interests. Each Young Changemaker is presented on a double page with a large illustration and their story as well as a quote from them.

I'll definitely be looking into purchasing this book for our school library, and possibly a copy for the classroom too!

this is a well thought out and informative collection of biographical stories of talented females in their respective fields. This has a well thought out layout and is bright and colorful which will draw in many young readers. This is marketed for girls however I can see this being a favorite with both boys and girls.

Where to start?
The art in this one is all over the place. I get the idea of having a different young female or non-binary artist for each biography, but they very obviously do not all have the same skill level at all. The book is then united not by the art, but by the general fairy tale tone that elides both the community support which each featured girl or woman received, and the real class differences between some of them. Placing the achievements of a girl who attended a $26,000 a year prep school next to a girl who grew up in deep poverty in the Global South is deceptive and flattening.
And while the book claims it is about “changemakers”, many of the featured people aren’t actually effecting change at all. This is most obvious with the athletes and artists, but even some of the STEM figures are not as effective upon any scrutiny or critical thinking. The emphasis on technological and individual solutions to systemic problems instead of community building and system change is frustrating.
Fundamentally, this book is all surface and no depth, in a way that does a disservice to the young readers it’s supposed to be inspiring.

Whether you have a young one who is inspired by princesses or firemen, it’s important to give them real life stories to look up to as role models and inspiration, for their own goals and dreams.

This book has plentiful stories to provide any child (not just rebel girls, but all kids) with a wonderful set of dreams and joy, for change makers The rebels come from all over the world and do a wide variety of jobs and hobbies, which use so many useful skills. It is a great base for girls and anyone who wants to believe that anything is possible, in life.

The illustrations are gorgeous, colourful and share a glimpse into the story of their lives.

We loved sharing these stories and really having a chance to share what these wonderful women are inspired by.

We highly recommend this book, and all the brilliant inspirational stories it contains!
