I love all of the books in this series but this one is especially useful to the students that I teach who are studying English from Japan. The text is easy for them to read and relate to!
This is a wonderful book of short biographies that tell of girls all over the world who are doing amazing things to make the world a better place.
The representation is fantastic. Most girls were born in the 1990s or later, come from all over the world, in all shapes, sizes, abilities, and colors, and from a variety of backgrounds. The stories are short enough to be engaging and pique interest in the person featured. Many of them have QR codes so you can learn more. The pictures are bright and colorful. They are drawn by women and nonbinary people from around the world as well. I love that all areas of interest are covered throughout the book, from sports, to arts, to STEM fields, to activism, to business, you name it. Any reader is bound to find someone to relate to in this book.
I received a digital ARC of this book thanks to the publisher and NetGalley.
These are very short overviews of 100 currently inspiring women/girls. The artwork is cartoonish and brightly colored which grabbed my girls' attention. They liked seeing famous people along with kids that are changing the world! They're short so it's easy to read 1 a day and talk about how that person is making a difference. They all have inspiring stories and are diverse in ethnicity and ways they're changing the world. It's been really fun to share these stories with my 3 daughters!! Another great addition to this series!!
As per usual one of my favorite series is Rebel Girls. This is the fifth tome I believe and as usual I know a lot of great girls and women. But I don't know the majority of these girls and I learn every time amazing things about amazing girls. I love this book.
Girl Power on display here! They range in age from preteens on up through girls in their twenties. What they are doing with their lives is inspiring for all. Each story is a page long and on the opposite page is a illustration of the individual and a quote. I liked this one from 13-year-old inventor and entrepreneur, Cassidy Crowley:
I learned to just go for it because you never know unless you try.
A large portion of the featured stories are unfamiliar names, but you will find famous profiles like Bindi Irwin, Billie Eilish, and Zendaya. You can go through the pages in any order. The last part of the book has more profiles of girls who didn’t make the top 100, but each get a paragraph and illustration of their brave and often exciting pursuit. Also included are pages to write your own story with an illustration.
A fantastic additional feature are QR codes that lead to audio stories in the Rebel Girls app. Great extensions to an already great set of stories. This newest volume is perfect for elementary and middle grade girls. Each may be motivated to become another changemaker.
I can never get enough of Rebel Girls... and I am a grown woman who teaches high school English for a living. Rebel Girls just does a phenomenal job of picking powerful, and impactful, (young) women who inspire others and change their communities (which leads to global impact). It amazes me that these women come from a place of longing and build life-changing stories for themselves. 10/10 will ALWAYS recommend!
Another great addition to the Rebel Girls series.
I love how diverse the picks in this one were. Once again a huge plus for these books. It inspires young readers to dream big and make a change.
Colorful, entertaining, inspiring - this is what the Rebel Girls books are known and loved for.
I have been a big fan of the Rebel Girls books for a while. Along with the Little People, Big Dreams series they offer kids a look at what others have done. Hopefully this both helps to appreciate those who have come before and to motivate kids to believe in themselves and their aspirations.
This collection includes stories of 100 young changemakers following a foreword by Bindi Irwin and an introduction. How wonderful that there are 100 people who are inspiring. Each entry includes biographical information and illustrations. Here are everyone from a swimmer to a musician to a singer/songwriter, to a scientist and inventor, a soccer player, a sailor, a painter, a blacksmith and more. So, yes, there is a strong message that girls can aspire and do!
This book belongs on both family and school bookshelves. Its wide scope is just terrific.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for this title. All opinions are my own.
The Good Night Stories for... are always nice to read. It is inspiring to read the stories about so many female rebels from all over the world, and the artwork is always very well done.
This book is beautiful! My 5 year old and I read a few each night before bed. I loved these stories enspired my daughter every night when we read them.
This book was so much fun! It was incredibly inspiring to hear all of these amazing stories of female icons in our world! An amazing gift for anyone and everyone.
I love the way how we describe “rebel” girls. Because they are not bad, nothing to be ashamed of. They are truly changemakers, they are the leaders who can rule the world.
And as a mother of the daughter, I really appreciate these book. This one is perfect. Even my little daughter (she is 3, so I don’t pretend that she reads it) likes to see the pictures and taking these stories to bed.
Awesome gift for all young rebel girls
I love the Rebel Girls series. I have a six-year-old son who also loves them. It's important to me that he is presented with diversity and powerful women while he's young, and unfortunately, we live in a not-so-diverse state where women and diversity are not exactly celebrated. It is through books like these that he's more exposed to the world and what kind of things young people can do!
Rebel Girls Series
I absolutely ADORE this series. The artwork is gorgeous! The inspiration to be a REBEL girl & make the world a better place by dreaming big and showing examples of “girls” who took that dream & acted on it!

I love this book! As a mother of two girls I appreciate any book that uplifts women and inspires all. I especially love the illustrations created by various amazing and unique artists. There are so many young women featured in this book which is a great inspiration to all about the power we have to do great things and make a difference in this world at any age. This is a book I would buy for any and all children. .
The beauty of the entire Rebel Girls series is the ability to be inspired just before bed, at lunch, at the park or anywhere you please! We've loved all of the books in the Rebel Girls series and this one did not disappoint.
Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Inspiring Young Changemakers has allowed for deep, thought-provoking discussions on many topics as well as allowing the reader to ponder what they can do to make real change AND put fierce, fiery action behind their cause.
Reading the background and achievements of these ladies brought a new spark and inspiration to my daughters eyes, seeing herself in many of them. This is one of the books I like to call a "rabbit hole" book, it leads us to questions and research on nearly each person presented. It also showed her that she's not too young to make a difference!
The font is a great size to be able to read in low light before bed, the art is absolutely phenomenal and as a homeschool mom, I appreciate the contents being perfectly laid out!
This is another wonderful installment in the Rebel Girls series! It was so inspiring to read through the book and learn about so many incredible young women. They have accomplished so much at such a young age, it is an inspiration to all the things young girls are capable of. This book shows us again that rebel girls are not to be underestimated. One day the girls who read these books will be featured in them.
Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls was a big hit in my household. With 100 inspiring stories there is a story for everyone to enjoy.
Each story is beautifully written, inspiring stories of young extraordinary girls doing amazing things in the world. Stories like this should be read by all, to show our littles that they too can do and achieve so many things in their life.
The illustrations were a tap bit off for me. When trying to explain to my child that these are real people that message was lost with the illustration style, but they are super cute, and we liked the different the style for each individual.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Wow. Beautiful illustrations and incredible stories of girls doing amazing things. I can’t wait to get a copy of it for my little girl.
“The fifth volume of the best-selling Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls series, 100 Inspiring Young Changemakers, includes 100 stories of extraordinary young women who have made their mark on the world.”
I was primed to love this book, as I have the other four in my kids’ library already.
It did not disappoint.
Not only did they keep thing things I’ve loved in the past – Inspiring stories, gorgeous illustrations by female artists, diversity of colour/origin/body type/ability, as well as the celebration of every gift (scholarship/creativity/athletics/activism) – it added the fact that every one of these 100 changemakers is STILL ALIVE.
If that doesn’t make you hopeful, I don’t know what will.
9.5/10
I’ve pre-ordered the hardcover for under the Christmas Tree.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for this stunning ARC.
