Wow! If this is her debut, I cannot wait to see how amazing her future books are. Make Me Disappear was an unputdownable domestic psychological thriller! I listened to this as an audiobook and looked forward to listening to it every chance I got!

Portions of it reminded me of Gone Girl and the obsession portions reminded me of You! While I figured out the culprit, you will never guess the reason behind it!

This book caused my emotions to be on a wild roller coast! So many dark secrets, gaslighting, blackmail, and deceit has lead to a really thrilling read/listen that leaves you at the edge of your seat. Noelle didn’t know who she could trust! Do yourself a favor and READ THIS BOOK!

I liked the narrator and the characters were really well done. I liked the main character but the side once not so much. It was an interesting cat and mouse game with a surprise at the end. I loved the fact carma worked here.

Yes when you just feel something is not right and you want to just disapear you can try to hide and hire someone to make you disapear. But in this story all is turned up side down. Everyrhing is on thr right place, for someone too late but anyway a nice debut.

I despised the narrator for Daniel. Worst narrator I've ever listened to. However, the narrator for Noelle was great. I had very mixed feelings about this book.

So I preordered this one , and while waiting for it @netgalley so graciously provided me with an audio copy for my liatening enjoyment !

First thoughts were , the audio narration is great! While listening I had total ' YOU' vibes, which is funny because I just listened to YOU . So I had fresh vibes from that one . Then I got 'gone girl' vibes . . Both spectacular vibes to get from a book . But then I was really uneasy about Daniel and how absolutely narcissistic he is . Hes straight up self obsessed and completely insane . And I hated his self absorbed character so much . I loved the way the author made you feel like Noelle does .
Noelle thought she met the perfect man , handsome, sweet and a doctor to boot ! Then as it goes his mask falls off and noelle fakes her own kidnapping to escape this man she once thought the world of . . Jessica, really does a great job of making you fear Daniel, as Noelle does when she runs .
If your unfamiliar with how a narcissistic sociopath operates this book can serve as a tutorial, and a wile ride all in one !

OMG this book! I was so excited to get approved for the audio on this and once I started listening I DID NOT WANT TO STOP. This book is so twisted and gave me major "I'll be watching you/You vibes". Daniel is a sociopathic and delusional stalker who has a strangle hold on Noelle. She arranges her own kidnapping to get herself away from him. However when she is kidnapped, she realizes that it's not the kidnappers she hired. At first I thought this was unbelievable but as the story goes on it's starts to unravel and it's SO GOOD. There's not much more I can say without giving it away, but I would highly recommend this suspenseful domestic thriller.

Okay I got to be honest, I have to read the paperback instead of the audiobook. I got the audiobook and the female narrator was just not into it? If that makes sense. She is just reading the plot and makes it not interesting when does the male narrator does the best job like Joe Goldberg from ( You ) .
So to the bottom of it , it’s best to read it to make sense of the plot you are missing.

AMAZING! Thank you for this advanced copy. Let's start at the cover...love it! Drew me in right away. Being someone that works in the criminal justice system, I just constantly grew irritated and appalled by Daniel's behavior. I cannot stand entitlement. The author did a great job of portraying a DV victim and perpetrator. I loved Noel's character. She wasn't going to take it anymore! Loved the events in this book as far as Noel getting back at Daniel. Did not care for Carrie. Once Justine announced Daniel was not the problem, I immediately had the book figured out, but it was still a great layout of events to the end. The narrators were great as well! The male voice did a great job of showing Daniel's different traits and behaviors. Can't wait for more by her!.

THIS is the thriller we've all been waiting for. I have been needing one like this after having read, or attempted to read, some rather not so thrilling thrillers. This one is what I needed to get me back into the genre that I love so much.

First, I need to tell you about the pacing, because more than anything, that is what makes a good thriller. Payne does an excellent job of keeping the chapters short and the plot moving while still giving us completely fleshed-out characters. I honestly could not put this book down and read it well into the night. I simply had to know what happened next!

Payne also does an excellent job of creating flawed but likable characters. One issue I've had with some books lately is that in effort to make the characters "realistic" the author has simply made them unlikeable. Noelle is the most likable protagonist I've read in a long time. I was rooting for her throughout the novel. She grew so much from a victim who simply wanted to run away into a woman who wasn't taking crap from anyone.

As for the narration, it was flawless. The male reader was particularly good, giving the character the startlingly dark tone only when necessary. Honestly, his take on the character might have added some depth, which was not lacking in the first place.

I can't believe this is a debut as Payne is deftly skilled at crafting a pulse-pounding, edge of your seat thriller. I can't wait to read what she writes next.

At first Noelle is thrilled at the attention of Dr. Daniel Ashcroft, who works at the hospital where she is a nurse. Their relationship moves fast, maybe too fast, as Noelle begins to be aware of Daniel’s controlling personality. She begins to get cold feet at the thought of moving in with him, and he doesn’t take the news well at all. When Noelle’s aunt, recovering at their hospital after routine surgery, dies mysteriously, Noelle wonders if Daniel could be behind her death. And now he’e preoccupied with the “high risk” pregnancy of Noelle’s cousin, Noelle believes this is a threat, but how can she prove it? Maybe there’s something to the rumors about Daniel’s previous girlfriend having disappeared? Noelle decides to flee, but Daniel doesn’t plan on letting her go. Yes, readers will be able to see Daniel is a nutjob from the get go even if Noelle seems a little slow on the uptake, but the story os fast paced and fun

I checked the author bio on several sites because when I saw "debut novel" for Jessica Payne, I was shocked. Make Me Disappear does not read like a first book. This well crafted, kept-me-hanging-on-my-seat, psychological thriller is a home run for this new author. I will gladly add Payne to my list of authors to automatically read.

I was lucky enough to be selected by the publisher to listen to the soon to be released audio book version, and this is an easy to write review because the book is fantastic. It is full of smart, beautiful, accomplished characters, including nurse Noelle and her controlling boyfriend, Daniel, a doctor. There is money, grand homes, a future and, of course, conflict and suspense.

To escape what she fears will be a dangerous future for herself, Noelle arranges for her escape via a planned kidnapping. You know that goes wrong, right?

I'm a reader who gets lost in the story and often, only at the end, can guess the outcome. Payne wrote a book where I'd guess the outcome....and I was wrong....and I guessed again....and I was wrong. But she did it in a way that made sense and made me appreciate how much better her ending was from any of mine.

As for the audio book, I appreciated the use of two narrators to represent Noelle and Daniel's perspectives. A male and female narrator are not always needed for an audio book, but since this one really did flip solidly from one character's view to the other, I was more immersed in the experience hearing either a man or woman as speaker.

The twists wouldn't stop at all in Make Me Disappear by Jessica Payne.
I got approved for this audiobook within a day of requesting, and I was super excited - I started listening to this and used this book as an excuse to complete some pending chores so that I could listen to this uninterrupted!

Noelle has parted ways with her ex Mike as he was abusive, but her mother is not too happy about it. But Noelle wants to move forward in life, and chooses to live her life better. She meets Daniel, falls in love with him after he saves her when she meets with an accident, all in all Daniel in a good guy but Noelle slowly realizes that he is a narcissist, and thinks that the earth revolves around him.
Noelle is now planning to leave Daniel, but her resources are limited as she has no proper support system. When she meets a lady in a cyber cafe during a storm, she comes up with a plan - as the plan gets executed things get a little messy for everyone - Daniel's ex girlfriend went missing a long time ago, and Noelle knows that he can be the no.1 suspect if anything untoward happens to her - Noelle comes up with the perfect plan, i.e., until she meets Jack!
For a debut novel I think this was well written and I enjoyed the soothing narration by Josh Wichard, Amelia Sciandra.

Noelle knows a thing or two about abusive men, so when she realizes her current boyfriend Daniel is not who she thought he was, she plans her escape from his controlling ass. Daniel is a narcissist of the highest order. He’s an anesthesiologist and he thinks he’s God’s gift to Earth. When Noelle is kidnapped, he stops at nothing to find her….

That all sounds serious, but I have to say I laughed my ass off a bit with this one. Daniel steals the show! He’s so terrible; the stuff he says during his inner monologue is so demented 😂 You can tell the author had a good time writing his chapters. The big twist is a bit predictable and Noelle comes off a bit bland but for a debut novel, I thought it was great! I always round up for debut efforts that impress me.

If there is one thing any reader of mystery/thriller can learn (again), it's that women in romantic relationships with men are putting their lives at great risk by association. That lesson comes across here, but there are some fun twists along the way.

Noelle and Daniel have a challenging relationship that is really damaging for both of them. Noelle, who is clearly not a murderino, has learned nothing from the many stories pervading the culture OR from her own romantic history because when she starts dating Daniel, she thinks he's the perfect guy instead of too good to be true. Similarly, Daniel can't seem to figure out that his pattern of dating women who suddenly go missing is...not normal for anyone else. There are serious issues with control, trust, and money between these two, and there's no question that their relationship needs to end. What gets interesting are the HOWs and WHYs around that seemingly necessary ending.

Payne has a really solid debut here. While both Noelle and Daniel are WAY too slow on the uptake for my liking (there are times while reading when you, too, may be yelling "SERIOUSLY?! NOW, you're thinking this is weird?!"), I did enjoy the twists and pacing overall. I'll absolutely be back for more, especially in the audiobook format (which I recommend for folks who are fortunate to access this version, too).
