I was impressed by this debut! I love trying new authors and finding a good one at the beginning of their career is a real prize! I’m anticipating her next book already.

Daniel is a character that I loved to hate! I was itching to see Karma slap him in the face, lol. It was exciting to read every word of it. And the twist at the end was marvelous.

I recommend this gripping debut. It was a little unbelievable at times but so much fun to read. And the narration was fabulous. If you enjoy audiobooks, this one is great!

This audiobook is amazing. I love dual narratives with dual narrators. Makes such a difference- totally delivered for this book.
Noelle has tried to end things - but this time she must get out. Desperate enough to hire a company who kidnaps clients to give them the real experience.
Except someone else kidnaps Noelle.
Daniel controls Noelle - even installing cameras in her apartment, his refusal to allow Noelle friends.
The narrators do an amazing job creating their voices- especially Daniel. His narcissism, controlling personality is lent incredible creep factor. Well done.
I cannot wait for this author's next release.

Out of curiosity, I read some other reviews before penning this one. And I must say, I am amazed by the reviews. This story is written in two parts, which is a great idea. But it was so incredibly heavy-handed it made the story tedious. I found myself talking to the author – Yes! I get it! Dan is a sociopath! PLEASE stop trying to explain it. You made your point 4 or 5 or 10 sections ago! And Noelle is about as thick as they come. She knows he is spying on her. She knows he has cameras, tracks her phone, monitors her every move and yet she doesn’t think he would have her passwords? Even though she has his? She loves her red hair so much that she stays in the area she has history with and doesn’t color or cut it? The characters are tedious, the story moves incredibly slowly. I was curious how Payne would resolve the conflict between Noelle and Dan, so I finished it, but I cannot truly say it was enjoyable – getting a tooth pulled. You know it will be better when the pain stops.

I began hearing a little buzz around this book was super excited to read it. I love a book full of twists and turns and the unexpected. This book has all the elements of a great book but it just fell short for me. I was looking for a blockbuster and this felt more like a movie of the week. The characters were all unlikable and there was very little character development. If you're looking for something fast paced with family drama and lots of twists this may be for you. This book has a really good opening and then it just gets better with each chapter. I played that fun game of just one more chapter until there were no chapters left.

First time trying this author but definitely be buying more books now I've discovered Jessica Payne!

I thought Make Me Disappear was an outstanding debut novel! Something like this appears just when you believe there can't possibly be any more inventive ways to twist a psychological thriller.

The story alternates between two perspectives, the ones of Noelle and Daniel. He works as an anesthesiologist and she as a nurse at the same hospital, but they first met when he saved her life after she was in a car accident, and they became a couple shortly after.

Dr. Daniel Ashcroft appears to be the ideal boyfriend: he's handsome, wealthy, charming, and romantic, but he's also strangely overprotective and borderline stalkerish as we soon find out. As she starts hearing rumors about a previous girlfriend that vanished a while back and then discovers the hidden cameras he planted in her apartment, she realizes Daniel isn't as flawless as he appears to be. He's becoming more controlling by the day, and she strives not just to get away from him, but also to cause him some distress along the way. So she organizes her own kidnapping and what follows is both suspenseful and intriguing, as she is not really prepared for any of it.

From the beginning, I thought this book had a “You” vibe. Daniel is similar to Joe, with the exception that Joe is more relatable and likeable, whereas Daniel is an arrogant and self-absorbed jerk who I despised the moment he first opened his mouth. Anyway, Make Me Disappear is a fun read with great characters, plenty of twists, and a thrilling conclusion.

A great story told in alternating perspectives from Noelle & Daniel. Fast paced with lots of twists & turns. Leading up to the end was a bit convoluted but definitely a great debut novel. Looking forward to more from this author.

Although I realise that this book is of a type of genre which is popular at the moment, I can't say that I enjoyed it that much. I found that it was rather drawn out and I found myself just wanting to get to the end about half way through. I found Noelle rather annoying and really why did she ever get into this relationship? If she was as savvy as made out, then surly she would have realised something was up earlier.... but then there wouldn't have been a story would there so there you are....

Wow what a twisted mess and I liked it! My mind was guessing the whole way through.

The MC Noelle hires a kidnapper company to kidnap herself to get away from her boyfriend. Seems like a great idea until it isn't. Now she needs to figure out who actually kidnapped her and why.

I loved everything about this book. The characters, the storyline, the dialog and the twists were great. I had a hard time putting this book down.

I will definitely be reading her next book!

I really liked this. I think Jessica Payne has made a wonderful debut with this one. The audiobook is also really fantastic.

I liked the main character in this story. It takes an immense amount of courage to finally put a plan into motion escape one’s abuser. I also like that there was a lot of complexity within this book. From the kidnapping, to new characters, and throwbacks to previous relationships.

The audiobook also gave me strong YOU vibes. For real - Daniel’s voice and delivery sounded just like Joe (Penn Badgley). It was an amusing connection I made, but it honestly added to the creepiness of Daniel’s character.

While I predicted the twist, I still think it was executed well. I like how it all came together and how Payne wraps up the book. Overall, I recommend this one!

I’d say this is about a 3.5 stars. It was entertaining enough, but there weren’t a lot of shock factors. The true villain of the story was apparent early on, which was a bit underwhelming.

It was however a good premise. Plan your own kidnapping to get away from your obsessive boyfriend? Made for a decent story. I also enjoyed listening to the story in both Daniel’s and Noel’s perceptive.

I also enjoyed the narrators.

This book was suspenseful, multi-faceted, well written, and entertaining. There were a few plot points that seemed flawed or too far-fetched, but generally an amazing debut. The dual narrator approach was very well done and worked really well. The audiobook also had two narrators: Amelia Sciandra for Noelle and John Wichard for Daniel. Amelia Sciandra's narration was adequate, but for the most part it was disturbingly flat, just a step or two above computer-generated narration. Strangely, she became most animated when reading the dialog for Eve, Daniel's mother. Since Eve was generally referred to just as Daniel's mother throughout most of the book, I had no idea who she was until I figured it out from the context because from her voice, she came across almost as a flirtatious 20-year-old rather than a mature to elderly woman. John Wichard, on the other hand, was absolutely excellent--very expressive and perfect for the role, and his narration increased my enjoyment of this excellent book. Noelle feels trapped in her controlling relationship with Daniel and is looking for a way out. Attempting to break up with him backfired before, leading Noelle to jump to more drastic measures. It started all according to the plan, but then it all goes horribly wrong and it seems that her unhealthy relationship is not the only thing that is trapping Noelle.

This was a fun book! The changing time periods and the various points of view made it move quickly. There were so many moving parts and so many questions, that I was hooked and could not stop because I just needed to find out what was going on.

I also had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook version of Make Me Disappear and I am so glad that I did. The multiple narrators were great for the characters. Their narration was clear and full of emotion that fit perfectly with the storyline.

Two storylines - Noelle in the past and in the present. Noelle in the past has met a great doctor and is in the process of falling in love. Noelle in the present is on the run and the past doesn't look so great. And while both storylines are going on, the reader can't trust anyone's viewpoint because the author wrote it just right!

I am finnicky when it comes to unreliable narrators sometimes the author does it just right and I love it from start to finish and sometimes its done poorly and I honestly have no idea how to differentiate between the two! In this book, it was great partly because I honestly didn't feel like I could trust any of the characters. All had motive to deception, but I also had a little empathy and sympathy for them all - they were written so well.

While I may have guessed the culprit a little early, but only because I have become quote the mystery/thriller reader, I still enjoyed the journey of this book. And to find out after finishing that this was a debut was a fun treat and I wish for so many more winded tales from Jessica Payne.

I read most of this book in ebook form, but there was a day on the metro where I commuted and while I can read, sometimes its nice to just do the audiobook at that time and I liked having that option with this one. I enjoyed the audiobook version and the narrator did a great job with this one.

I saw Jessica advertising her new book on a Facebook group I am on, and it sounded intriguing, so I got myself a copy pronto. It was as good as I expected and even better, a debut novel, which I hadn't realised before and I love to read. New authors add tremendous value to the mix, and while they aren't as experienced as others, I appreciate their fight to get their first book deal and the excitement of holding their novel in their hands for the first time.

This book is completely over the top and implausible. You must suspend your belief in the real world for a while to make it work fully, but it's a great book!

Noelle is a nurse and is dating the hot, steamy, and brilliantly rich anaesthetist, Dr Daniel Ashcroft. He is the hospital's answer to Dr Dreamy in Gray's Anatomy. She has scored big time, and they have been having an excellent relationship until she realises that it's not all that it has seemed. Noelle realises the only way to escape is to take drastic action, so she does.

The plot is far-fetched and a little crazy, but I enjoyed reading this rollercoaster ride, full of twists and turns and things you would have never seen coming. I felt a little confused at points and began to wonder what was going on and what to believe. However, some great scenes depict the cat and mouse type chase where Daniel tries to find Noelle and save her, or at least bring him home and back under his control.

The characters are well developed. You can feel Noelle's fear and Daniels's desperation to get her back, get married and move forward with their lives. His mother is a brilliant piece of work.

I don't want to say too much to ruin the story or the ending, but the end is full of more twists, a massive couple that you didn't see coming!

Make Me Disappear doesn't feel realistic or believable, but it is brilliantly written and will;l; keep you entertained for hours!

The narration on the audio version is brilliant and adds to the story well.

This was such a fun listen, really far fetched but really did it for me as just wanted to see how it would go. It did go where I thought it would. I am not going to go into the plot as this has been done by the publishers and other reviewers but it is a good listen. I really enjoyed the fact that there were two different voices, so it separated it out. You did have to concentrate especially at the beginning with the two timelines and then when the two points of view were brought in - at least by then it was mainly one timeline.

All in all thoroughly a great listen.

Make me disappear is perfect for fans of The Resident as it tells the story of a Nurse (Noelle) who is dating the dreamy Dr. Daniel Ashcroft. On the surface he is kind, passionate and dreamy but how far is perfect? What makes a woman want to disappear and leave a perfect man. Oh ,mayn, this book was perfect, engrossing and totally worth staying up for. I couldn't put it down and the narrator did a wonderful job
of bringing the story to life. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Fun, tense, suspenseful, a little bit obvious at times (seriously, how did she not figure out anything about what was happening sooner?), and a little bit over the top (in a funny, dramatically ridiculous, and still satisfying kind of way). I enjoyed this one and, like a few others recently, I kind of flew through it. It’s becoming something of an obsession for me to collect the best thriller-type stories, it seems!

First I need to get out how much I absolutely detested Daniel. Everything about his personality, how he talked, even his relationship with his mother, irked me. The male narrator for this audiobook, Josh Wichard, made me hate him even more! You could hear the pompous, self centered and controlling coming through in his voice. They could not have picked a better narrator for his parts. It fueled my hate fire.
What starts off as your run of the mill domestic thriller, with an abused spouse on the run, turns into a twisty psychological thriller. Everything about the story was fresh and original, and well done. Did I see the big twist coming? Yes I did, but I can honestly say that I was happy I got it right. I had a fist pumping “ yea” moment when it happened. No disappointment at all.
This was a great audiobook. The female narrator, Amelia Sciandra, was just as good as the male. They brought extra intensity to the story, which is a perk to reading this as an audiobook. If the crazy story isn’t enough, listening to the two tell their side of things takes it up a notch.
