Calamity at Cattori V is a queer space story set on a planet where prisoners were sent to build and farm on. The main character Tommy was born there and is part of the company that is sent to collect prisoners and bring them in. The planet had been at war with an alien race for many years and was now thought to be at peace.
One thing I enjoyed about this book was the character Orchid. I was very happy to get a nonbinary character and one who uses neo pronouns too! One thing I didn’t enjoy was the size shaming Tommy faces for being over weight during the first part of the book.
