If you are not a cat person, this is not the place for you my friend!
For those of us that are, you will fall in love with pigeon and her story whilst thinking about your own reading companion, my elderly cat sat with me while I read this book and may now love it for all the extra cuddles she got! That said, I can’t quite put my finger on this book. I couldn’t put it down, but it didn’t have me gripped. The only character I liked until about half way through the book was Pigeon! Mia felt extremely disjointed as a character, with her work/home/group/childhood personas. That is until the main incident that then spirals all other events into being., at that point I warmed to her and started to get her. It is a nice, easy read that any cat lover will (mostly) identify with. The main message, that love doesn’t have to conform and you can be saved by anyone or anything at the worst and lowest times is, however an important one and is well conveyed. It really is about being who you want, not who people expect you to be and that is a message we all need.

So I have a new favourite book of the year!
I didn’t think that I would ever find a book as witty, original, and deeply touching as Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, but I have!
The main character is just fabulous, so well developed, and is as quirky as she is endearing. The storyline tackles some serious issues with great skill and empathy, while still having funny moments.
The story is told via first person narrative and is perfectly paced. Dawn’s writing is so easy to read and I mean that as a compliment, I always feel so comfortable and at home in her novels.
If you love a book full of endearing characters that break the mould, unlikely friendships, and a protagonist you will root for and learn from, this latest offering from @hotpatooties will definitely sing to your heart.
Cat Lady is women’s contemporary fiction at it’s best. I read it in two sittings and loved every page, and I cannot recommend you all pre-ordering /racing to request on NetGalley enough.
Thank you to @harpercollinsuk @netgalley for the advance copy.

Wowies! This book could not have come at a better time for me. I have had a week where two colleagues told me I needed dogs or children to make friends. I said I loved my cat. Single, and living alone plus cat, this was just the perfect tonic that I needed.
Mia really goes through the motions in this, and there are other characters that I loved to hate, and times I wanted to scream at them. In equal measure, the friends she finds in her unusual support group are just brilliant.
I think generally, this is the book the modern feminist needs. Its about time we had a heroine who isn't obsessed with babies (or dogs) but cares about her career and her cat.
This one where I giggled, cried, gasped, cringed and shouted at the book- possibly even at the same time. Yet again Dawn O'Porter achieves some shock factor in this read.
Yes, yes, yes! This was the book that I didn't know I needed quite as much as I did.

What a book , I loved this book so much it had me if fits of laughter but at the same time it was such an emotional read. Dawn has written this so perfect some of the characters were so loveable others not so.
I had a to say this book is the best book I have read all year and I have read loads this year.
If you are looking for something warm , emotional with added drama this is the book for you .
I would rate this book⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+++++

I really enjoyed this story that features an older protagonist trying to get through life. The writing was good and I could really understand the character. Very open door.
