This was my first book by this author, It was pretty enjoyable. I would give this book a 3.5 star rating! It was a pretty Quick and easy read!
I had high hopes for this as a Christmas romance, but unfortunately it just wasn’t for me.
Although set in December, it’s not at all festive.
Both the MCs are pretty hard to like so I didn’t really connect with them, and I didn’t believe there was any chemistry or actual feelings between them.
The random celebrity name dropping from the MC seemed out of place and super cringey.
Just not for me.
I received an advance copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
This is a really sweet festive story that I devoured in a day. I really enjoyed the characters and the premise was extremely fun.
A cute Christmas story! I only received the first chapter of this title, and although the book and story overall did take me a little while to get into, I got enough of a taster from the chapter to make me buy and read the whole book!
I was so excited to read Just for December because what could be more magical than Germany right before Christmas? Unfortunately, the main character, Evie, was the least likable character of all the books I've read this year.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC for an honest review.
A very sweet christmas story set it Germany where Evie must fake date the star of her movie to save it!
Beautifully descriptive and Laura Jane Williams has outdone herself with this book!
First of all this isn’t the usual type of Christmas or December themed book so maybe don’t get caught up with that. I love this author though and the characters are always fun and easy to read too.
I love Laura’s writing and this Christmas book of hers features her usual signature warmth and wit but with an underlying message that shines through
I’ve loved other books by this author but I could not latch myself into this particular one. The premise of the book sounded great but as I got deeper into it, I had a hard time finishing it. I didn’t connect well with the characters but it’s not to say someone else would not enjoy it…. The setting I did enjoy as well as the tropes.
Cute andd sweet read. But not really my cup of tea.Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read.
Thank you to Netgalley, Avon Books and Laura Jane Williams for an ARC in return for an honest review.
I adore Laura Jane Williams' books so I knew this was not going to disappoint.
I loved the chemistry between the characters. The plot is fantastic.
A heart-warming festive read. I throughly recommend.
This was a sweet and very entertaining holiday novel! I think with the ever-growing popularity of Hallmark-esque Christmas movies, this is only going to become a more and more popular trope. I also loved the setting- I'm always here for a Christmas-y, European setting.
This one I really really wanted to like, but it fell a bit flat for me. I liked the overall premise, but I couldn't really get into the characters. A fine holiday read but not my favorite.
Didn't hit the mark for me, which is sadly a theme for a lot of the Christmas books I read in 2022
I'm sure others out there will enjoy it
A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.
This rival to romance story was a quick and fun read. The characters were at times a bit difficult to love with lots of a enormous amount of famous name dropping by Duke and an extremely crabby and stubborn Evie. The film set backdrop was a delight as were the locations.
This book is classic grumpy/sunshine trope. However the grump is the girl for a change.
Evie is a romance novelist who doesn’t believe in love. She was incredibly grumpy and rude in places. Her rudeness put me off a bit as I didn’t find her very likeable.
The book is cheesy but if you want an easy read this is the one for you.
Please note that this book is not for me - I have read the book, However I had to DNF and because i do not like to give negative reviews I will not review this book fully - there is no specific reason for not liking this book. I found it a struggle to read and did not enjoy trying to force myself to read this book.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for the opportunity to read this book
Not for me - I have never seen a book info dump and solidify their main character as nOt LiKe OtHeR gIrLs so quickly.
I enjoyed reading Just for December by Laura Jane Williams. The characters in this story will warm your heart. Happy Reading!
