I was more than ready for Scott and Monica’s book after reading Jesse’s! I love these characters so much, and their story just tugged at my heart. It kept me guessing too, and that’s never a bad thing!

Out of Love
By Ruth Cardello

I’ve never met a Ruth Cardello hero that I didn’t fall in love with by the end of chapter one. Scott Millville, farmer, closet genius, beautiful inside and out grabbed me immediately. Twin brother to Jesse Rohoboth (Strictly Business, The Switch series book 1), the two switched places at Jesse’s request in book 1 and instead of it being for only a couple of hours, weeks have gone by and they are still in each other’s roles. Bored by ‘staying put’ while his brother ‘saves the farm’, Scott wanders into Jesse’s company and into his office. There, by chance he meets Monica Bellerwood, the daughter and head researcher of their biggest client. Scott is immediately captivated and we know we’re going on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and suspense to untangle the lies, secrets, and sabotage awaiting us. The instantaneous attraction combined with the slow burn romance had me filled with anticipation to see these two get their HEA.

Every series by Ms. Cardello is a new adventure and a family I want to belong to, or be friends with. If you thought the Romans or the Corisis were intriguing, wait til you find out about the Rehoboths/Millvilles. I love this series and can’t wait for Thane’s turn at finding a twin. Another fabulous read by Ruth Cardello!!

While this book can be read as a stand alone, I think to understand the motivation of Scott and Jesse, reading book 1 in the series makes a difference. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I really enjoyed this book. Scott is the whole package; smart, good looking, and loyal to the people that he cares about. But, he’s not completely trusting of most people, for various reasons. When he meets Monica, he realizes that there’s more to her than meets the eye. But, it’s hard to get her to trust him when he’s been lying to her from the moment they met. Will they be able to overcome their trust issues? Can Monica change her total environment and outlook in life? Reading about their journey was a joy!

When Jesse and Chris were born they were adopted by two totally different families. Chris went to live with a lovely farming family and Jesse was adopted by the ultra successful/uber rich Rehoboth family, who already had adopted Thane. Jesse and Thane grew up to accept success at every level and Chris grew up with a mother and father who showed their love at all times. When Chris' farm is threatened Jesse and Thane introduced themselves and decided to help him. What they don't know is that Chris is extremely intelligent and working on an an experiment to save the world's food supply.

With an entire cadre of characters helping and joining together to keep Chris alive (he's already been shot once) Chris meets Monica Bellerwood and is very interested in getting to know her better, too bad he can't tell her who he is.

As the author comes closer to wrapping up the mystery of Chris and Jesse, Monica's father dumps a bomb on the family.

The rescue animals are great and add humor to the book. Reading along as the men change so thoroughly is delightful.

I really enjoyed Out of Love. The storyline was fun and the characters were great. I found the dialog to be a bit choppy and corny, but it wasn't enough to be off-putting. This was an instalove story, which I think tends to lean towards overly cute and corny... I did like the mistaken identity aspect to give them something to overcome though.

Scott is a total cinnamon roll. He's incredibly sweet and optimistic. Monica does well to balance him out with her insecurities about being worth loving. I was happy to see how the plot line with her dad developed.

I probably won't reread this one, but I am looking forward to Thane's story. He was always my favorite brother, even in Strictly Business and I'm excited to see what is in store for him.

Book 2 in The Switch, and I loved it just as much as the first book. This time we have the story from Jesse’s twin Scott, who’s temporarily left his farm for the lights of the big city, with strict instructions to not to leave his brother’s apartment. Of course he doesn’t listen, and herein starts his story, as daughter to Jesse’s billionaire business associate, Monica Bellerwood, storms Jesse’s office ready for a confrontation, and comes face to face with….Scott, and he’s not the cut-throat businessman she was expecting (of course he’s not, he’s sweet, gentle and funny). Together they investigate and uncover some dirty dealings, all while finding themselves, and their place in their respective families. Lots of flirty times, happy times, emotional times and super sexy times, in this sweet, addictive, funny and highly enjoyable read. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author. I received an advanced copy of this book.from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

The best type of romance book is one that is so far fetched that you almost wish it was real. This definitely fits the bill, A brilliant romantic comedy, I loved Scott and Monica's story and was sad to finish this book.

I’m sorry but I just couldn’t finish this. So much of the characters thinking but not doing, it just dragged on.

Laughter and sparks set the stage for a fun romance from New York Times bestselling author Ruth Cardello about a farmer who switches places with his business-savvy twin brother. The story moved marvellously. I finished the book overnight. The book supercharged me. That’s says something. For one, I am motivated enough to read her other books. The entire read was a heart-pounding impact on me.

In the second book of Ruth Cardello's The Switch series, which overlaps in part with the timeline of the Strictly Business, we find out how farmer Scott slots into his twin brother Jesse's life in the world of business. After meeting Monica, a scientist and the daughter of Jesse's biggest client, Scott becomes involved in uncovering a case of scientific sabotage and espionage.

To me, the story line felt quite far-fetched at times, and the love story between Scott and Monica at times got lost while the plot was focusing on space research, beans that could solve world hunger and the energy crisis, industrial espionage and attempted murder. I would have liked there to be more room given to the development of the relationship between the two protagonists.

Out of Love is the second book in the Switch series. It follows the life of Scott, twin to Jessie in book 1. As the Series title suggests, they switch places and as they’re identical twins, only those closest to them realise. As always, Ruth Cardello creates likeable but flawed characters who really should know better than to not tell the women they fall for their secret. Of course it comes back to bite them in the arse and of course they ultimately make up and fall in love. And this is why I read every one of her books!

Complete escapism into the fictional lives of billionaires and their families, alpha males and strong female characters who don’t let them get away with their behaviour for long. Happy endings, plenty of saucy sex scenes and a great story along the way. I can’t wait for book 3 and the on-running plot about twins and the adoption agency that is starting to be woven through the storyline. Don’t forget to read book 1 and then maybe all of her other titles too!

When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect book to snuggle up with on any day.

In the second book in this series, we get to follow the other twin. Instead of the farm, we get the busy world of business and a deal involving a space station. I enjoyed how even though Scott is a farmer he had the knowledge to contribute and was out in the perfect situation to uncover the truth.

This was one of those stories I couldn't put down. I read the entire thing on a car ride headed out camping. The author always finds a way to keep me captivated.

I lived the juicy tidbit cancelled at the end very nice set-up for the next book. I always can't wait to find out if we get ties to other series when the birth parents are finally revealed.

With this series, I would recommend reading in order. There's a bit too much crossover and detail to just jump in on book 2.

I think this book was fun and entertaining. The romance was swoon worthy but, what I really loved the most was the growth, and arc development of the MCs and the ending; It was everything for me!

Out of Love is the second book in the series and follows the love story of Scott and Monica. Scott is a farmer who was adopted at birth and has now found out that he has a twin brother, Jesse. He is at risk of losing his farm so his brother steps into his role to try and fix it for him. Enter Monica. Monica is the daughter of a millionaire and her company had enlisted the help of Jesse's company to help build a life support machine for a space station. This is where they both meet. How will she react when she finds out that Jesse is actually Scott?!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and how Scott fell hard and fast for Monica. Monica had been delt a difficult childhood after the death of her mother and doesn't trust so easily. Even still, the people who mattered helped her to understand Scott's love and accept it.

The pair were hilarious together. You'll love the animals on the farm and their little personalities. The side characters are just as entertaining as the main characters. Highly recommend reading Out of Love. Before you do, please check out the first in the series strictly business. I look forward to reading Thanes story! I received an ARC through Netgalley for an honest review!

This is the second in this series, I did not realize this before starting, however can be read as a stand-alone. Scott and Monica meet with a twist and drama ensues. The story is a good one, with humor, drama, angst, a pig named Bella and bean “mystery”. A must for your summer beach read. Consider reading the first book, just for content and story timeline, oh, and Jesse’s story.

3 Stars! I liked most of this book. I couldn’t really get into it, with all the outrageous parts - semi-special beans, attempted murder, long lost twins switch places, rich billionaire friends, possible hits, etc. Also a lot of parts that were confusing to me but would probably make sense if I had read book one in the series. This is the second book in ‘The Switch’ series and can be read as a ‘mostly standalone’. Still, I did enjoy reading this book. Kind of a love at first sight but had some ‘sexy times’ scenes that I didn’t skip through! Seriously, some authors make the ‘sexy times’ scenes soooo long and drawn out that I’m worried I’d fall asleep reading it. The main character were Scott and Monica. I wish that more was added to this book about what his twin, Jesse from the first book in the series, dealt with while they were switched and how they found out they were twins. I felt lost at times. A prologue would’ve helped. Hopefully Thane gets a book too!

This is book two but can be read as a stand-alone story. After switching places, Scott learns more about how his brother Jessie runs his company and injects a little more of the human touch to it. Monica has problems with her father which adds to the emotion in this book. I loved Bella the pig and the other animals on Scott’s farm. A well written book which leaves you wanting to read the next, what is in store for the next brother Thane.

This is book two in The Switch Series. I have not read book one however I didn’t feel like that affected my enjoyment of this book. But after the end of book two I can’t wait for book three.

This book really made you open your eyes to living life to the fullest and not getting trapped in the everyday motions. Relationships are built from the ground up all the way through and it truly ends in a happily ever after. For a light good hearted read this is a great story.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for my opportunity to read and review an ARC of Out of Love by Ruth Cardello.

Romcom at its best with just the right amount of steamy... Scott can usually be found on his family farm taking care of his rescue animals and experimenting on his beans for a cure to end world hunger. He also finds the positive and humorous in most circumstances, but struggles with boredom when he briefly trades places with his successful twin, Jesse, and is secluded to his twin's posh apartment. The boredom comes to an end when he decides to head into Jesse's office and has a run-in with the beautiful and fiery Monica, a brilliant, take-no-prisoners business woman who came to give the arrogant Jesse, AKA Scott, a piece of her mind... Only it's difficult to form words when she is hit with the realization of how hot Jesse is! Such a fun read!
