I have read other books by this author and have really enjoyed them and this one did not disappoint, although it was a little slow to start and I was probably about half way through before it really started to pick up pace but it was well worth the wait, would defiantly recommend reading. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review.

A dark story of obsession and deceit, The other husband is a slow burner that will leave you wondering what the truth is up until the very end.
I really liked the writing style and the slow and subtle evolution of the relationship between Cleo and Heath, going from an intense love story to a full-on obsession. I also liked the slow revelation of the relationships between the other characters, which weren't obvious at all at first. The dual timeline was very cleverly done to reveal one bit of information at a time, so you could slowly starting making the connections on your own.
I found the second half of the book a lot more engaging than the first one, where I struggled a little bit to connect with the story and the characters - I usually prefer fast paced books. However, once the scene was set I was fully gripped and I flew through the last sections.
Thank you NetGallery and Headline for a review copy in exchange for honest feedback.

I really tried to get into this but it's not at all what i was expecting. From the description I expected this to new a suspenseful mystery thriller, but nearly 20℅ in and ask I've read is a romantic comedy. Three stars for a DNF.

This was an intense story of obsession with some very complex characters and multi-layered plot. I was totally gripped throughout the reading wondering why main character and successful author Cleo was dismantling her seemingly perfect life - aside from the fact that people in her life seemed to be dying in the same manner as her murder mystery books that is. This was one timeline with her student days and 'other husband' the second. I was a little disappointed by the end however and the big reveal. I mean I didn't guess the perpetrator but that's because in my opinion it was a slightly odd and far fetched choice. As always a good read from this brilliant author but a slightly disappointing plot.

Normally love Dorothy Koomson books but found this one very slow to start. I was nearly three quarters through it before i really got into it and it picked up. An enjoyable but slow burner book for me.

I’d like to thank Headline and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘My Other Husband’ by Dorothy Koomson in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Cleo Forsum Pryce writes books about Mira, a cook who solves gruesome murders as she bakes. It’s become a popular TV show but she’s severing all ties with the show and divorcing her husband Wallace who she’s still very much in love with. She doesn’t want to but if she stays people’s lives will suffer because of her.
‘My Other Husband’ has a dual timespan that moves from 1996 when Cleo is at University in Leeds with her best friend Trina and meets Heath, a young man who’s totally besotted with her, to the present time when she lives in Brighton and is married to Wallace. I’ve been a fan of Dorothy Koomson for many years and have always enjoyed her novels and although I was delighted to be given the chance to read the latest one I was slightly disappointed as I didn’t think it was as good as the others. The beginning was absorbing but then it slowed down and it wasn’t until I was two-thirds of the way through that it started to become exciting and I couldn’t read fast enough to find out what Cleo was going to do. I enjoyed it but not as much as some of Ms Koomson’s previous novels.

Another really good book from Dorothy Koomson. Well written characters, lots of twists, couldn’t put it down!

I'm a big fan of Dorothy Koomson ordinarily but I didn't enjoy this book as much as previous Dorothy books. I found the dual timeline confusing in the sense that I couldn't properly get lost in the book because it would flip back and forth.

Complicated Lies..
Chloe Forsum is successful. She has everything she desires and her work life is paramount and certainly on the rise. Then, Chloe walks away from it all. Why? Is Chloe being framed for something that she didn’t do? Or, does Chloe have a confession that she needs to make? As secrets unravel, complicated lies emerge. Cleverly crafted suspense, in dual timeline format, with a slow burn menacing undercurrent and a keenly observed and well defined cast of characters.

Love this author she never disappoints! It is set in dual timelines, Cleo the main character, begins with the start of her love life when she meets Heath a fellow student at university. Cleo soon realises that Heath is not your average guy and he unnerves Cleo as he stares across the room at her. Heath becomes besotted with Cleo and he has a determination that sees him get what he wants. Starts slow but quickly got me invested in the storyline!

I absolutely love Dorothy Koomson and was so excited to read this one.
This follows Cleo in duel timeline from the present day and back to when Cleo was younger.
A slow burn for me and got gritty half way though, it was an enjoyable read leaving you guessing throughout.
I liked it but didn't love it as much as the Authors previous books.

Thanks NetGalley for the arc.
I absolutely adore Dorothy Koomson unfortunately My Other Husband was a very slow start and it just seemed to drag and ultimately I did not enjoy as much as her other books.
I would recommend as it is a good storyline with twists and turns but it takes a while to become intriguing.

Found this a bit too slow to properly immerse myself. A good ending but did drag to get there. Was left wanting more, but the tension just wasnt there for me.

I have really enjoyed a number of this authors books and like how she talks about race and racism in her books however I found this book itself really slow. It felt like it really did drag and I was at about 60% before anything really started to happen. I wasn’t enamoured with the ending either as fell a bit flat for me.
I would recommend any of her other books but this one was very average for me.
Thanks for the chance to read this ARC.

I am a huge fan of Dorothy Koomson so having this one approved was brilliant! As always, she delivers an epic punch of a story, thought provoking and emotional....grips you from start to finish! Great storyline, great characters and super addictive, what more could you want?!

Cleo is a best selling author whose books have been made in to a successful tv show, she is in a happy marriage and has everything going for her so should be happy. Life though has a way of imitating art and soon murders start occurring that are mirroring deaths in Cleo’s novels. Cleo needs to start working out who can behind them and who is trying to frame her. Oh and one small detail is missing: Cleo’s other husband.
This story was my first Dorothy Koomson book and I loved it. I like the character development, the plot and it wasn’t a predictable read. I’ll be looking out for more Dorothy Koomson books from now on!

Having enjoyed the authors other books I was looking forward to reading this new one I found the first part of the book too slow it did pick up from the middle onwards but I think the storyline was abit dragged out.Overall this wasn't as good as the other books that ive read by this author.
Thanks to Netgalley Headline Books for the ARC

Thanks to Netgalley and Headline for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Cleo is the author of a successful cozy mystery series and a tv show based on it. She is also seemingly in love with her husband Wallace, but she is divorcing him at the same time. Turns out she was married in another country to someone else some years back, and that seems to be unresolved. Now, people she is associated with through her show are getting murdered or attacked in similar ways as the victims on the show which causes the police to suspect her.
This was a pretty good 2 day read. It alternated between Cleo's current day life that seems so happy and successful (so why is she dismantling it?) and her college days with her friends Trina and Heath. For quite a bit of the book, I couldn't figure out exactly how her previous choices led her to her current situation and I liked how that played out. Once it became clear what had happened, I was still interested in finding out how it would be resolved. I think this author is very talented and while she doesn't quite fit into my usual mystery/thriller genre, I still have enjoyed pretty much everything I have read by her and look forward to reading more.

Dorothy Koomsom never disappoints and My Other Husband was no exception.
Although this story had a slow pace it still held enough to keep turning the pages right to the end.
I liked the story having a dual time line as it enables the reader to get the full background on the main protagonist Cleo and better understand the way she is later on in life. This is book is a good drama and would thoroughly recommend.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in return for an honest review.

I liked this book, but mainly because I’ve enjoyed previous books by this author. It was a slow book which didn’t grip me until the latter half. I was expecting some major twists but they just didn’t exist. It was a good mystery though.
