Main character Josie experiences her alternate life in a parallel universe after a biking accident.

In one timeline she is a single woman, a host of a radio show, and a choir member.
In the other she is married to a wealthy husband and lives in a penthouse.
The reader gets to see these two versions of Josie struggle to adapt to their different timelines.

The dialogue was rough to me especially with all the "baby" talk, while the actual narration felt more smooth. I also found Josie to be problematic, with her thoughts on weight gain, long distance relationships, and mental health.

I did enjoy this book, but it is a bit predictable.

Thank you to NetGalley as well as Joffe Books for the E-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

We meet Josie as she’s about to celebrate her 36th birthday. She lives in Brooklyn, has a successful real estate radio show, great friends, and a crush on a guy that it seems like will be hers soon, as well as a brother who she's extremely close to.

On her way to her birthday dinner, she’s in a bike accident and wakes up in the hospital to a husband, body, and LIFE she doesn’t know! She has a different job, a different address, and a whole different life! It all seems perfect until she finds out that there are people missing from this life. She’s honest with everyone about not remembering any of this, but it isn’t “amnesia,” she has memories, but of a different life. She really can’t have it all, it seems.

The book is told from alternating points of view "Me" and "Her". It wasn't hard to follow, sometimes I feel like books like this CAN be. so that was a positive to me

I felt like the book was about 100 pages too long - I was skimming a lot at the end. I did like the journaling aspect that "both" Josies participated in and I also liked the dream aspect and wish that was fleshed out a little more

one of the biggest issues I had was when Josie came back to "her" life with Rob and was so angry at him for falling in love with the Josie in his own timeline. She failed to mention her own dalliances in the other timeline and was just really unreasonable (I felt).

Anyway - the multiverse aspect (in anything - movies etc) confuses me a little but this really didn't. I just felt like it was a little too long and had some issues.

When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect book to snuggle up with on any day.

I did not finish this book as it just wasn't for me. I was unable to connect with the character, and I could not get into the story.

I was interested in the premise of this story but the book didn't deliver at all. Not for me. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.

The premise of this book sounded so promising to me. Josie gets into a bike accident and wakes up as another version of herself. In another universe also. In this reality she had a job in real estate, she is married to a billionaire. She comes to realize there is another Josie in this new reality and it’s like they have switched lives at a shared point in their life. The bike accident. Josie is living two parallel lives. I felt like the pacing of this book was so slow. I just couldn’t really get into it.

This "Sliding Doors" like plot was right up alley. I'm the beginning I was really invested in both Josie's journey and where she might end up. I felt like C.J. Connolly did a good job depicting the challenges and struggles Josie faced while trying to adapt in each life. However, towards the end I did feel that novel dragged on a bit.

What a great twist on the "what-if" story! I enjoyed seeing how the characters developed, what was most important to them, and how the support of those around them was so encouraging. It was a great read!

This one was not for me. I did not finish.

One of my favourite books is Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella, and was hoping this would give similar vibes, dear reader, it did not.

I made it just over 10% and had to put it down, the writing felt rushed, as if I should already know these characters (as far as I could tell this isn't part of a series) and I just didn't care about them.

I received a free copy of this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you so much @netgalley and @joffebooks for my e-arc of THE LOVE OF MY OTHER LIFE by @cjconnollybooks ! This book came out June 30, so you can grab your copy now!

This was a very unique, multiverse romance book! It really reminded me of the move, The Vow. (Ahem, if I wake up in the hospital from a coma, and Channing Tatum tells me he is my husband, I will NOT complain or protest 😆😍)

I really liked getting the perspective from Josie and “other Josie” because even this, technically they are the same person, they also aren’t?! You kind of have to wrap your head around this concept, which is explored in the book with both Josie’s. I really liked that!

Would you want to experience being thrown into a multiverse? In a way, it would kind of cool- you could do things differently in your life/change some things (if you want), but I’m not sure if I would actually want to experience it!

I loved the plot based on the synopsis, but I felt as though it fell short. It was predictable in a non-ironic way. Multiverses & time travel are popular plots in media right now, and I feel like it followed the algorithm without making it different. It had the potential to be more fast-paced, emotional thriller rather than a romance.

This book's premise is probably considered very "in" right now. The multiverse concept in particular. For me, it just was not my cup of tea. It took far too long to get started. It was very slow in the beginning. While I liked the main character, I found many other aspects just plain dull. Not a bad debut from the author. The formatting of this made it also tricky to read.

It's a fun concept-parallel universes in a more female focused romantic story, but it just wasn't exciting enough for me to enjoy.

I loved the premise of this book, and thought the execution was decent.

For me, it could have been longer. There were many aspects of the story that I would have loved to see, but there were only slight glimpses.

It did end very quickly too. I wish we could have had more about that Josie’s life.

I was lucky to receive an advance copy of The Love of My Other Life by C.J. Connolly from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. I was literally hooked from the first page and was unable to put this down until the wee hours of the morning. So good! It is such a great read. Do yourself a favor and read this as soon as you can.

I could definitely see this as a mini series or a movie. I felt a greater connection to the one version of Josie as I feel like one version was better fleshed out. Fun and quick read.

Wow! I've always loved stories about alternate time lines and/or the path not taken. I really enjoyed the Sliding Doors feel of this book but also appreciated its unique differences.

The main character, Josie is turning thirty-six and still trying to find the thing in her life that will make her happy. She thinks it's the love of a man - - but she can't seem to find the right one. When she and her alternate self from another timeline accidentally switch places, Josie will discover that it's hard to know exactly where your happiness comes from until it isn't there.

In the other world, she has a loving husband who is everything she could want....wealthy, handsome and in love with her. However, there are differences in this other world that she can't move past. Plus, at the end of the day, she knows this truly isn't her life - - it's the life of the "other" Josie.

I think this book did an outstanding job of making the reader really contemplate how each decision in life can impact things. You can't let it paralyze you, but it often bears consideration. Sometimes the smallest decision can change something big down the road. It's kind of fascinating and overwhelming all at the same time. The inventiveness and creativity of this storyline pulled me in and kept me hooked until the end. I just wanted to see Josie find her way "home" to where she felt she belonged.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to read and review it and the opinions contained within are my own.

On her 36th birthday Josie is hit by a car when she wakes up in hospital the man that is holding her hand is telling her he’s her husband but she remembers nothing about him all the life he says they have together.

This is a compelling novel, full of twists and turns.
