I really enjoyed this book. It was easy to read and hits all those feel good spots. Friends to lovers is my absolute favourite trope 🥰 It was a great start to the series and I look forward to reading about the Hawthorne brothers in the future!

I completely lost interest in these characters, their story, and couldn't finish it. Maybe it was me, maybe it just felt too new adult/ya for me to get invested.

Friends to lovers is one of my utmost favorite romantic tropes! Is it a major cliche that has invaded the romantic comedy scene? Yes, but it is there for a wonderful reason and that is because it's a what if scenario that has all the callings of a romance! In How to Kiss Your Best Friend there is a wonderful dynamic between wanderlust Kate Fletcher and her small town science teaching kayaker best friend. Between wanting to stay and wanting to go, Katie needs to figure out what is more important to her and more importantly who she sees in her future.
Simple and sweet is how I have come to think of Proctor's works and I cannot even begin to tell you how much of a comfort her stories are to me. When it is a rainy day and I am feeling down because of life I can always count on her books to make me feel better. Cannot wait for the next in the series!
4 out of 5 stars!

One of the cutest friends to lovers romcom I’ve read, with small town farm vibes, big family business, sibling banter, ‘we’ve been best friends since we were little but of course they’re not in love with me’.
Anyways for a closed door romance, I absolutely loved it, and would recommend to anyone looking for a quick romcom!

Talk about slow burn!!! It's usually not my thing, but I loved how as a reader I could see both characters struggle with their feelings, even when the other had no idea. It made their storyline that much sweeter!
It was a little bit slow for me to get into, but once I got into it, I finished the book pretty quick. Both Brody and Kate have lovable and relatable qualities, making it much more interesting and entertaining to read.
Will definitely recommend to friends!

North Carolina mountains, whitewater kayaking, small town charm and fantastic family relationships - sign me up! Friends to Lovers isn’t my favorite trope because there is usually SO much pining and miscommunication but because of where this one picks up in the timeline, you kind of miss all of that stuff. Pretty much the second they see each other again after a long time, Brody and Kate know something is different even if it takes her awhile to understand it. I loved the Hawthornes and their supportive but protective nature towards Brody’s heart in varying degrees depending on the family member. I wanted to knock Kate in the head a couple of times and it was a little slow in the beginning but the sparks were oh so swoony once they hit. I loved the epilogue and hope to see Brody and Kate cameos in the next book in the series.

If you liked People We Meet On Vacation but the spice and language was too much to really love it - this has some similar vibes but in a sweeter niche.

An easy going and enjoyable sweet romance. I really enjoyed the storyline especially with Brodys work struggles and Kate feeling unsettled running along side the romance. Loved the kayaking scenes. Will definitely continue with the series.

Usually I don't like the friends to lovers' plot, but I wanted to give it a chance. It's actually pretty good, it's not that long (I took it like 1 month to read it cause I was in a period of exams)

How To Kiss Your Best Friend by Jenny Proctor was such a sweet Friends to Lovers romcom. I loved the small town setting and Hallmark feel of this one. The characters were highly likable and felt very real to me. It was definitely easy to fall in love with their story.

The story follows Brody Hawthorne, who has been in love with his best friend Kate Fletcher since they met in 4th grade. Kate has never returned those feelings and is always on-the-go flying from one adventure to the next and too busy to focus on falling in love. When Kate takes a short hiatus from traveling to settle her grandmother's estate, she and Brody reconnect. Kate quickly takes notice that Brody is no longer the scrawny nerdy boy he used to be and finds herself falling for her best friend. Will this finally be Brody's opportunity to find love with Kate?

I really enjoyed this one! I'm so excited to find out what else Jenny Proctor will do. This is the 1st Book in the How To Kiss A Hawthorne Brother series and the next book "How To Kiss Your Grumpy Boss" will focus on Brody's brother Perry. It is set to release November 1st, 2022. I can't wait!

There was a lot to love about this book. Small town vibes, family farm, so much time outdoors, friends-to-more romance, and of course the Hawthorne brothers!

Honestly, in the beginning I didn't like Kate at all. I thought she was a poor friend and I couldn't see what Brody saw in her. She seemed a bit shallow and maybe this was the intended feel the author was going for. She grew on me as the book went along. I think Brody made the story enjoyable.

All in all it was a good book and I look forward to the stories of the other brothers.

This quenches the need for age appropriate follow-ups to The Summer I turned pretty and To All the Boys I loved before. Not quite an OMG Amazing read, but it works for the target audience.

This was a cute story, but I found it difficult to like the characters and found this story easy to put down. There wasn't anything wrong with it that I can pin point, it just wasn't working for me. *I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read an ARC of "How to Kiss Your Best Friend" by Jenny Proctor!

This novel centers around Brody and Kate. The two of them have been friends for years. Brody is busy pining away for Kate while she is off traveling the world and seeing all that there is to see. Brody stays behind and teaches kayaking. He goes with his brother Perry on a hiking trip and Kate surprises him by telling him she's coming home for the summer. She surprises him once again when she shows up along the Appalachian Trail and sparks start to fly once again between the two of them.

I am very excited that this is a closed-door romance, because sometimes scenes that are too spicy within romance novels make me feel a bit uncomfortable. I also am so glad that the author is continuing on with making this into an entire series, much like she did with the ones before it!

Overall, I rated this book a 4/5 stars!

How to kiss your Best friend by Jenny proctor

Brody and Kate have been friends all their lives but best friends since nerdy Brody taught maths as he is a maths genius . Kate is now a travel writer travelling the globe for the last ten years. Although Kate is now home for the summer to sell her grandma’s house and decide what to do with her life/future as she now wants a home and stability but is oblivious to the fact that Brody has been In love with her all this time. Brody has also changed he has now grown into his body, is now a teacher and a serious whitewater kayaker and as Kate now working out she is falling very much in love with her best friend!

This is a quick fun read. Full of humour drama characters great beach read . 4.5/5

I enjoyed this book for the most part. There were some slow moments where I found myself drifting off but once Brody started picking up that Kate liked him back and she became more willing to allow herself to fall (more) in love, I fell more in love. The characters were relatable and their feelings were raw. I loved Brody’s family- his brothers were fun and humble. Kate had a messy relationship with both parents but learned some important things about them that was a long time in the making. The outcome came together sweetly. The omission of steamy sex scenes helped in this book, which isn’t typical but it would have ruined the tender magic of the characters relationship. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend.

This book was just so lovely! I pretty much finished it in one sitting, it was such an easy, cosy, heart warming read that is just the perfect romance. The storyline was great and I loved the side stories that were running along it too. I absolutely love the Hawthorne family, they were brilliant characters and I’m so happy the series carries on with them because I’d love to read more about them. I did really like the relationship between Kate & Brody but for me Brody was the best character in the book! It was such a lovely romantic read that I really enjoyed reading
