I think this book needs a trigger warning.

I like the one page images for each poem. This is a brilliant idea. However, they do not all land. This was called scattered thoughts, but there seemed to be a theme. Traumatized girls. Not a fan. I suspect that this is just what some kids need. They need to know there is someone who understands them. I am glad it exists but it just isn’t for me.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Scattered Thoughts for me wasn't a good read. I know the title is scattered thoughts but the book was way too scattered to get to grips with. The poems were very scrambled and about anything and everything that you could think of to cause you trauma in your life. This book didn't read as being written by someone who had experienced the traumas in this book but more as an observer and so it didn't resonate with me unfortunately. I did give this book a few tries but sadly it just wasn't for me.

Just by the title itself, after reading this, my thoughts were also scattered. I don't know if I liked this book or not. It's more like a reminder to a person than a poem. I didn't feel really connected with it. Also, there are some parts where it's more heavily relied on Christian beliefs, so maybe some people won't like this.

Still thank you for Netgalley and BookBuzz.net for the arc!

Unfortunately, I didn't love this one. Perhaps to someone else it might be great but I found it too scattered. My immediate issues was the lack of story other than to just tell a collection of "thoughts" relating to any and all traumas one could experience. As a person who has survived more than one of the topics in this book, it felt as though an onlooker wrote the story instead of this being an own-voices.

I found all of it disconnected. I wish I knew more about the author and their story. I think that would have helped. I tried looking but sadly didn't find much of anything.

This was bad, like tumblr 2014 fake woke bad. Maybe back in 2014 this would have been really outstanding and unheard off because no one talked about these topics but we are not in 2014, we are in 2022 where these topics are discussed. Honestly everything was written like it was written for tumblr in 2014 by a teen, it was really hard to read. If you are writing a book that should explain some meaning in the poem you shouldn't have to put an explanation under the poem, that's not how it works. Overall this was just bad and I think there's lots of things to improve.

I loved the collection of poetry. We all have bullies in our lives. Bullies are everywhere. This author talks about different subjects with bullies. Its a trigger book. If you cannot deal with poetry about depression, suicides among other topics, don't read the book but if your strong like me to overcome the triggers, then by all means read the book. Its quite an emotional roller coaster. She also gives you thoughts to think about and possibly solve somethings.

I really enjoyed this.
I always find that poetry collections are always a bit hit and miss - but there were so many relatable poems in this.
They differed in topic, and in size - but almost all of them made me feel something.

i really enjoyed these poems, and feel like some of the ideas will stay with me.
